Best hotel food I've ever had. Homemade dough chicken pot pie, it's been chilly(I'm from Hawaii, island hop for work) so this was good comfort food. Brussel sprouts - do it The salad is a very large portion and crisp! Also had a egg your way breakfast - hearty start to the morning, yummy crispy potatoes. Bacon and Brussel flat bread, good combo of flavor and not to heavy. They have good healthy options for everyone thats convenient! Everyone from order taking to delivering the food were very friendly!

Finally got a chance to check out this place with some friends for some pau hana drinks. This is the main dining area of Maui's first Courtyard Marriott hotel. ATMOSPHERE: Reminds me of a Starbucks with a splash of green furniture for some color. Dark shades of wood and decor, very contemporary and very "un-Maui" which is nice to see. FOOD: BBQ chicken flatbread - This was really good! Topped with bacon, scallions & jack cheese. Big enough for 3 of us to share. Spinach & artichoke dip - The dip was very tasty but came in a very small dish with tons of chips and a small cup of salsa and oddly a cup of sour cream. SERVICE: You order at the counter and your food comes to your table. Bartender/server was friendly and professional. OVERALL: A great place to have some after work drinks and apps, but the beer is pricey. Domestics start @ $5.75 with imports and crafts @ $6.75.

The Bistro is your only dining option in the Courtyard by Marriott Maui Kahului Airport. The property itself is great, but the Bistro isn't so great. This isn't surprising to me, as Marriott has received a lot of backlash for the concept from its Marriott Rewards member community. Anyhow, the wife and I dined her once after a 19 hour day of activities at Haleakala, Kula, etc. We were tired and didn't feel like going off property, so we check out the Bistro. The employee working the counter that night was really friendly and helpful, so service was excellent. Unfortunately, the food wasn't so great. For our appetizer, the wife and I ordered the Shrimp Potstickers, while I ordered the Bistro Burger for my main meal and the wife ordered the Chicken Chibata Melt. The Shrimp Potstickers were a total fail. Didn't taste like shrimp at all. I couldn't even feel shrimp in it. The Bistro Burger was flavorless and cooked well-done, though it wasn't tough or dry thankfully. The bacon was good though, while the fries were decent. I didn't try the wife's sandwich, but she seemed like it was just ok. As far as value goes, it's just as overpriced as you'd expect from a hotel. Our total was around $50. Hours are breakfast and dinner only, but not late night. So it's a good option if you really don't feel like going out to eat, but you might do better to just order pizza. Better yet, go out and find a great, local place to eat.

Stay at this property and enjoyed the Bistro. Food was prepared and served well. Menu has plenty of options for breakfast @ dinner. I wish it was open all day...they would make money.

Two Egg Cheese Omelette (I substituted the bacon for sun dried tomatoes).

Expensive and terrible breakfast... Seemed like the homefries and sausage was bought frozen and warmed up in a microwave

Haven't been here in years, still feels the same as last time and that's not a bad thing!…read more Took Mom to Kahului Ale House for a late lunch one afternoon and who knew how many folks drink at like 1 PM HA! But we were there to eat and not necessarily have Pau Hana time, I will say though some of those draft on tap sound excellent! Ended up ordering: -Ale Battered Onion Rings ($15.75) -Turkey Club ($22.50) -Beef & Pork Burger ($22.99) -Wedge Salad ($16.75) Those Ale Battered Onion Rings hit the app spot! Beer-battered in house and come with chipotle mayo dipping sauce, fried & light, not overly greasy, good with them using sweet Maui onions! Brother wasn't too hungry, so he ended up getting a Wedge Salad (LOL) but with extra bacon. Looked good too! Mom & wifey shared the Turkey Club - that was a BIG @$$ sandwich! Roast turkey breast with Applewood smoked bacon, mayo, lettuce and tomato between 3 slices of thick rye bread! Buggah was stacked! They both liked it, lean turkey with the fatty bacon, and the texture contrast of the fresh veggies made it tasty! My Beef & Pork Burger was a test to my cholesterol levels LOL! Near 1/2 pound burger made with ground chuck, cooked medium rare and topped with a pile of house roasted Kalua pork, lettuce, tomato, onion, crispy fried onions and BBQ sauce...was indeed a tower of a burger! Was pretty damn ono too! Burger got good char from the grill, and the kalua pork was flavorful and not dry at all. This burger didn't need a slice of cheese at all! Delicious! Maybe on our next time to Ale House we'll actually get some beers! Their daily Happy Hour specials sure are tempting!

While there was a good turn out in the bar area and plenty of TV screens playing the game, when we arrived they had music playing instead. It took us about 20 minutes after sitting for a server to greet us so we could ask to turn on audio. Unfortunately, the slow and disappointing service continued. Someone else mentioned in a previous review a couple years back, but server was really slow getting food orders in and ordering additional rounds after our initial drink order. Our original server disappeared for a break (or end of shit) without ever introducing us to a new server or letting us know someone else would be taking over our table. When we asked if we could split the check, the new server waved her finger at us and responded with an attitude, saying the previous server should have told us they don't allow split checks. We were a large group, so we completely understood the automatic gratuity and would have been fine if it was added to each bill or simply explained the restaurant policy politely but the rude interaction was completely unnecessary. As for the food, we ordered the pupu platter, sliders, fried calamari, and french fries. Nothing stood out, and most of it tasted like typical frozen bar food. The calamari was especially disappointing--it had more of a fish stick texture than fresh calamari. They did have a pretty decent beer selection on tap. The pictures look a lot better than the restaurant actually is, it's a little bit outdated. We sat at the high top bar seating area, close to the sushi bar. We noticed when one of the workers was working at the sushi bar that a strong ocean/wharf smell came through the bar. I get it, we are in Maui but the sushi area smelled more like a seafood prep station than fresh sushi grade fish. Also, the Men's restroom only had one working sink, with the hand dryer not working and no paper towels. Nothing beats coming back to the table from the restroom with wet hands. Overall, this experience didn't live up to the expectations. If you need a spot to just grab a beer and watch the game this place might work, but if you are also looking for welcoming service and a delicious meal, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Plenty of parking to escape your troubles or hide your whereabouts. Adjacent lot just in case you need wide turns. Friendly little bartenders who know how to pour a beer and make highballs or Hawaiian ice tea. Pretty tidy and clean, lots of light to ward off vampires and an outside bench for smokers. Clean restrooms are the biggest surprise. Denizens include a bunch of regular seniors who love to talk and shoot the shit while sipping a beer. Pool table for local sharks or bored barflies. We were with locals who actually live here, so there was no excuse for the attitude. The vibe? Absolutely dead. Zero friendliness, zero aloha spirit. If this place thinks this is "hospitality," then the owner clearly doesn't care. Honestly, the bartender needs anger management classes or maybe just a different career altogether, because customer service clearly isn't for her. Do yourself a favor: don't waste your money or your time here. There are plenty of better places where you won't be treated like garbage the second you walk in.
