I ordered an iced double shot espresso W/ simple syrup and 2% milk. They didn't even have 2% but was still able to manually make it for me!! Since then I've been making a stop. Kraken Coffee Maui- Kahului is coffee food truck which also has drive thru. I always walk up to the window for service. They are pretty busy with only one barista working usually. Supporting local at Kraken and my favorite that I order is the caramel macchiato, or the vanilla macadamia nut latte. Love the strong brewed blended taste of coffee with sweetness. I think it is way better than the other guys. Service is good, getting my drink after I order is quick & I usually pair it with a donut from KK. There are 2 Kraken coffee shop, Kahului and Kihei, they are Maui's local coffee shop and roastery. All the Maui Oma bean varieties we purchased and brought home with us have been excellent. After some research we found Maui Oma's retail space was located in Kumu Farms Market which is located in Maui Tropical Plantation. They offer many different coffees (peaberry coffees, espresso roast, lots of blends), some tools and small equipment for coffee making, and cool Maui Oma merch. Wish they had a tasting station with coffee samples so we get to know all the different coffees and can make easier/quicker choices. They have line cards next to each coffee explaining the roast, origin and flavor profile, but nothing beats sampling them. The cafe next door serves Maui Oma coffee but it's not a place where you can choose the type of Maui Oma beans you want brewed. They don't really showcase the Maui Oma brand by at least telling you what they are brewing. Regardless, I was just happy to try a cup of their coffee at the cafe. Shout out on the sleek, tasteful packaging design and quality. Perfect for gifting.

The gentleman who was working with the dolly looked like the owner in the picture on Yelp. Never said anything to us. While we stood around. The security guard was really nice. The store next door opened at 9. The employee had cracked the door open and I spoke to him to see when they opened since we couldn't get a cup of coffee. There were a bunch of coffee places extremely close to us, such as Kraken and Akami (both worth your time btw), but after a few visits to a wide selection of coffee places, we kept returning and making an effort, to get to Wailuku. What I liked about this place was the general décor and vibe. It was clearly a local hangout and was active whenever we visited. Its close to a bunch of shops and some older buildings to check out, such as an old cinema a few doors down. The coffee is bold and flavorful, plus they have a wide selection of food. I tried their Breakfast Wrap with Bacon and avocado, and it was super tasty and substantial in size. This became a regular breakfast for me. They left their doors open, which not only brought a nice breeze in, it also enticed local birds that would waltz in and around the shop, giving their approval and pecking up crumbs. Nice people, great coffee and food, plus not too far from the airport, which was also the reason with did one last visit there on the way back home. The only downside was the price-it was about $17 so I'm sure I'll treat myself once in a good while to this. My small smoothie was $8 but refreshing nonetheless. I love the vibes inside with hanging plants and art work throughout. There was someone doing remote work or school in the corner with her sleepy golden retriever next to her, a few locals outside and some visitors inside. He was extremely knowledable about the kava and made reccomendations based off the vibes we were going for. Rather than doing a kava cocktail, we opted to do the actual thing just to get a baseline of what it tastes like. The kava we had was hands down one of the better ones we've tried. If you've never had it before, its earthy and herbally kind of like tea and leaves a numb/tingling sensation on your tongue. The bar is super laid back, very casual. We even had the pleasure of chatting with other customers and had a good time here. The inside also looks like their set up for live music. 10/10 would reccomend, great vibes overall.
