Founded in 1954, Taco Tia was born, eventually transforming into Taco Bell by its founder, Glen Bell. Maui's newest and sorta unnecessary Taco Bell opened a few weeks ago at Ho'okele Shopping Center (where Safeway is and incoming Sonic will be). But on the plus side, they're a bit out of the way for most people so lines are usually nil! I'm not a drive thru fan but was forced to use it as the doors were locked, I'm assuming due to lack of staffing. This short staffing is driving me crazy. Where are these people working if not? Is there some utopian career path that happened in the last two years that I don't know about? Geezuz!? I love ordering on the app, sort of. Of course I got my beloved Mexican Pizza; my second since it was reborn last month, with 2 fire sauces (Diablo is tolerable but doesn't compliment it well). I always opt for sour cream but didn't this time because they probably would've forgotten it, plus I had some at home. No one was in the drive thru at 6:45pm on a Monday night! Zipped in and out via a friendly guy on duty. But, he gave me the wrong sauce. Hence why I rather pick up in-store. No biggie though as I like all of their sauces. OVERALL: Bring back that MexiMelt and we may have a 5-star review update (hint, hint)!

No worries; it's worth waiting for. She gave me a pager, and we watched the chickens while we waited for our 4 soft birria tacos. As always, it was worth the wait. The burria was plentiful, with cilantro and diced onion, on the tacos. The flavor was excellent, especially with their tomatillo salsa and a squeeze of fresh lime. Glad to see the sliced radish, the pickled jalapeño and (oh, man) the marinated carrot slices! As if that isn't good enough, we also got a burria burrito to go. Now, we have something to feast on tomorrow. Mucho Bueno!

Let's start by saying, they pulled into the pole position of my most delectable Mexican food bite and place in Hawaii (albeit only had on Oahu and Maii, lol). My order: Chorizo Burrito Bowl and maaayynnn Thai thing was loaded. Starts with a layer of rice, beans, chorizo, green and red cabbage, pico de gallo, avacado, topped with chipotle aioli. Then on the side is a lime, pickled carrots, jalapeño, radish, and I chose spicy salsa. The bowl is huge,, and i stuffed my face and finished every bite haha; it goes to say hot great it was. The rice and beans are a perfect layer of goodness, the crunch from the fresh veggies, that smoky and spicy (light) of the chorizo, richness of that avacado, and finished off with that nice creamy aioli. Then I hit it with the kick or the lime and extra spice of the salsa. I'm in heaven. Oh then add side tart, tangy, and crunchy bites of the pickled veg. Waaaaawhoooo was my tummy happy. I'd like to say, I want to come back and all their other options such as their soft and questo tacos or biria. However as I am not in Maui much, probably going back for my home run. Hopefully next time someone else is with me so I can try their choices haha. The staff were friendly and food came out in good time. They are located on the back side of the food truck area, so don't pass them by if you just jump into the main area. Definitely recommend them for all who havent.

Sergio's Tacos is a new food truck located at "Da Tambayan Corner" food truck lot in Kahului near…read morethe Kahului Library. Their big blue truck can't be missed as they are located right on the corner. They serve up a handful of Mexican favorites from tacos to burritos, quesadillas, menudo, and even a taco salad. What piqued my interest was one of their specialty items that was marked available on Saturdays and Sundays only -- their birria ramen. No one has this available on their menu regularly (that I know of) so if you've been wanting to try it... this is the spot. When I stopped by the food truck lot again for lunch, I was happy to see that it was actually one of their specials that was available so I didn't have to wait for the weekend. It didn't have a price on it on the specials board so I was a little shocked when my total came out to $19. (Their regular menu says $12, so not sure if it was served differently that day?). My order came out quickly and I was happy to see that it came with limes and 3 tortillas. It reminded me of how my birria taco order came when I was in LA. One bite and I must say it was pretty tasty. The broth had good flavor and the meat was very tender. Don't forget to squeeze in the limes for an extra hit of flavor; it makes all the difference! While it tasted good, I could have honestly done without the ramen. I would rather eat it all as just a soup, haha! Overall though, I enjoyed it and am glad I finally got to try it. The price was a little on the steep end, so it won't be something I have regularly. My coworkers who got their crispy tacos enjoyed their meal as well. The family that owns is truck is from Jalisco, Mexico so I definitely look forward to exploring the menu more and tasting some authentic Mexican flavors and food. Parking is available on the Kahului Library side and a really nice covered eating area with ample tables and seating is available. Some evenings they even do karaoke at the food truck lot.

I told her I have to cancel and what world do you pay $35 for wine quesadilla and two tacos? No rice or beans etc., give me a break! I really hate being ripped off and stay away from places like that!

HOLY CRAP! This…read moreplace was phenomenal. We went specifically for the Anaconda Burrito which is over a foot long! The employees are friendly and accommodating. This is not a sit down, all seating is outside and limited, but the food is totally worth the small inconvenience. The salsa and guacamole were very very good. Their regular salsa was smooth and seasoned well. Their medium salsa was great as well and had a little kick. The guac was just perfectly chunky and didn't have huge chunks of raw onion or tomato which we loved. The Anaconda Burrito had all the fix-ins and we added sour cream. We shared between 4 people, but it could easily be shared by 6. Some of us also don't usually like beans, lettuce, or onions, but we had no problem eating the burrito as is, it mixed together well. We also had the Tres Leches which was fresh and moist. Very light and well done. Overall, we will definitely recommend Acevedo's to friends and go back next time we are in Maui!

Left me talking there while she was picking up the phone instead of putting them on hold, took forever to take that order and then my order on top of that she took it wrong and I was really angry because I paid $20 for a lousy tiny plate with rice and beans full of rice and beans it was supposed to come with two Chile rellenos. I sat down and waited, she calls my order 3 times. I mean I don't have wings to fly, I was getting up to get it, apparently it was not fast enough for her. I had to say coming, that was ridiculous so I bring the plate to my table and start eating, and I only had gotten one chiller relleno instead of 2, mind you It was super tiny. They use Anaheim peppers, cheating the customers because chiles rellenos are made with poblano peppers . John, the owner has gone crazy and doesn't know what else to do to cut corners, but this has gotten absolutely ridiculous. I have friends that have been going there, and myself included for decades, but we are not gonna patronize this Place any longer ever again. Amigos still gives free salsa, they are better as far as portions. The only thing I hate is that they tack on a 20% tip. Stay away from this place do not fall for the trap. You will not get good food anymore Here again. Their portions are very tiny ridiculously small! And the cook had the nerve to lie that she gave me two Chiles rellenos. I showed my plate to the woman that was filling in and then she took the cook's side, even though the cook only spoke Spanish! Unreal I should report this business. Obviously they have cameras, the owner can see how they're cheating customers out of their food that we pay too much to get crumbs and terrible service and quality, bland food Some of us patrons are sick of his behavior! The owner needs to take responsibility for this. Remember, word travels fast! PIÑATAS WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS SOONER THAN YOU IMAGINE! There's way better Mexican food on the island look up La Poblana...
