You can just feel it--and yes, confirmed: actual Mexican folks running the place, so you already know the food isn't playing around. Everything was insanely tasty and felt super authentic. Like the kind of tacos that make you pause mid-bite and rethink every other taco you've had before. Bonus points for the sauce bar--lowkey my favorite part. Nothing like standing there debating life decisions while trying every salsa like you're on a flavor quest. Easy 5 stars. I'd come back again and again... and probably embarrass myself at the sauce bar every single time. Service took a little while because there's only one guy cooking but it was well worth the wait.

The car rental company receptionist recommended this area of food trucks to check out since it was close by. It was about a 15 minute drive to the food trucks. Our friends said they've tried Ono Tacos before in Lahaina. They said that the tacos they had were good! I was in the mood for tacos so I ordered one Al Pastor "Pork" taco and the Shredded Beef Birria tacos. They were both very tasty and I would say "on par" with tacos I've had on the mainland! I would go back again the next time I'm in Maui.

No worries; it's worth waiting for. She gave me a pager, and we watched the chickens while we waited for our 4 soft birria tacos. As always, it was worth the wait. The burria was plentiful, with cilantro and diced onion, on the tacos. The flavor was excellent, especially with their tomatillo salsa and a squeeze of fresh lime. Glad to see the sliced radish, the pickled jalapeño and (oh, man) the marinated carrot slices! As if that isn't good enough, we also got a burria burrito to go. Now, we have something to feast on tomorrow. Mucho Bueno!

Let's start by saying, they pulled into the pole position of my most delectable Mexican food bite and place in Hawaii (albeit only had on Oahu and Maii, lol). My order: Chorizo Burrito Bowl and maaayynnn Thai thing was loaded. Starts with a layer of rice, beans, chorizo, green and red cabbage, pico de gallo, avacado, topped with chipotle aioli. Then on the side is a lime, pickled carrots, jalapeño, radish, and I chose spicy salsa. The bowl is huge,, and i stuffed my face and finished every bite haha; it goes to say hot great it was. The rice and beans are a perfect layer of goodness, the crunch from the fresh veggies, that smoky and spicy (light) of the chorizo, richness of that avacado, and finished off with that nice creamy aioli. Then I hit it with the kick or the lime and extra spice of the salsa. I'm in heaven. Oh then add side tart, tangy, and crunchy bites of the pickled veg. Waaaaawhoooo was my tummy happy. I'd like to say, I want to come back and all their other options such as their soft and questo tacos or biria. However as I am not in Maui much, probably going back for my home run. Hopefully next time someone else is with me so I can try their choices haha. The staff were friendly and food came out in good time. They are located on the back side of the food truck area, so don't pass them by if you just jump into the main area. Definitely recommend them for all who havent.

They have an all day Breakfast Menu and probably still the only Mexican restaurant that offers Complimentary Chips and Salsa which is a plus. They have a Kihei location near my home but this Kahului location is where I usually frequent after work and they offer great daily specials throughout the week. I usually will get myself a refreshing glass of Horchata. This Cinnamon Rice Drink goes perfect with any Mexican dish to relieve that spice. I will most likely stick to a top 5- Ala Carte Taco (if you visit on Mondays, Tacos are $3.95!), Chicken Tortilla Soup, Caldo De Res (not pictured- Mexican Beef Soup with Potatoes and Carrots), Chicken Quesadilla with sour cream and guacamole on the side and Chorizo Con Huevos (Mexican Pork Sausage with Eggs). I have friends that are Regulars here and they usually get their Birria Tacos or Burritos and they love it! Unfortunately I got Chorizo Con Huevos on this last meal and the Chorizo & Eggs was very over done. (I should've said something but I was hungry). But the plate does come with your choice of Flour or Corn Tortillas and the most fluffiest Rice and Creamy Beans. I rated a 4 because mostly everything else I've ordered has been great and the service is always good even when they're pretty busy. The chips and salsa satisfy and help the busy waiting period go faster and you can always ask for a salsa refill.

This is not a sit down, all seating is outside and limited, but the food is totally worth the small inconvenience. The salsa and guacamole were very very good. Their regular salsa was smooth and seasoned well. Their medium salsa was great as well and had a little kick. The guac was just perfectly chunky and didn't have huge chunks of raw onion or tomato which we loved. The Anaconda Burrito had all the fix-ins and we added sour cream. We shared between 4 people, but it could easily be shared by 6. Some of us also don't usually like beans, lettuce, or onions, but we had no problem eating the burrito as is, it mixed together well. We also had the Tres Leches which was fresh and moist. Very light and well done. Overall, we will definitely recommend Acevedo's to friends and go back next time we are in Maui!

Left me talking there while she was picking up the phone instead of putting them on hold, took forever to take that order and then my order on top of that she took it wrong and I was really angry because I paid $20 for a lousy tiny plate with rice and beans full of rice and beans it was supposed to come with two Chile rellenos. I sat down and waited, she calls my order 3 times. I mean I don't have wings to fly, I was getting up to get it, apparently it was not fast enough for her. I had to say coming, that was ridiculous so I bring the plate to my table and start eating, and I only had gotten one chiller relleno instead of 2, mind you It was super tiny. They use Anaheim peppers, cheating the customers because chiles rellenos are made with poblano peppers . John, the owner has gone crazy and doesn't know what else to do to cut corners, but this has gotten absolutely ridiculous. I have friends that have been going there, and myself included for decades, but we are not gonna patronize this Place any longer ever again. Amigos still gives free salsa, they are better as far as portions. The only thing I hate is that they tack on a 20% tip. Stay away from this place do not fall for the trap. You will not get good food anymore Here again. Their portions are very tiny ridiculously small! And the cook had the nerve to lie that she gave me two Chiles rellenos. I showed my plate to the woman that was filling in and then she took the cook's side, even though the cook only spoke Spanish! Unreal I should report this business. Obviously they have cameras, the owner can see how they're cheating customers out of their food that we pay too much to get crumbs and terrible service and quality, bland food Some of us patrons are sick of his behavior! The owner needs to take responsibility for this. Remember, word travels fast! PIÑATAS WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS SOONER THAN YOU IMAGINE!
