George and I usually look for something quick but filling & this location consistently delivers. (Plus I can never finish mine so I'll have lunch covered for tomorrow too.) What I ordered: * The "Bigger Plate": A solid mix of Chow Mein and Super Greens for the base. For the entrees, I went with the Honey Walnut Shrimp (always a favorite), Kung Pao Chicken for a little kick, and the Honey Sesame Chicken Breast. Everything was fresh and the portions were generous. * The Drink: Always a Mango Guava Flavored Tea. It's refreshing, not overly sweet, and a great alternative to soda. Quick and efficient line service. Restaurant appeared bright and clean. Ordered a bowl for me, supergreens x2, kung pao chicken. Server actually asked me if I wanted it spicy. Hell, yeah. 20 years ago, in California, I definitely noticed a shift away from actually any "pow" in the kung pao. I think it was to accomodate more non-spicy peeps - which is frustrating, because there are other options, right? Who knows? When I returned to Hawaii, it was the same: no zing in my chicken thing. So by her asking me, it gave me some hope. Verdict? The spiciness shows up if you chew the dried chilies. This isnʻt the most palatable way to get your spice kick, but 'kay. Why tease the with the chili pepper icon? Whatʻs the point of warning that has no meaning? Or... are my tastebuds not picking up on spice because they are used to more fiery food? Regardless, the king pao chicken dish itself was tasty, perhaps a tad salty. My husband's "Harmonius Macros" plate looked amazing and truly was a ʻtrue protein bowlʻ compared to other restaurantsʻ lackluster offerings. If I had ordered his macros plate, it would have been (2) meals for me - the protein was generous! It was possible 10+ ounces for under $13.00. I have paid $15.00 for about 3 ounces of protein at another fast food joint. I definitely enjoy the super greens side dish options as it helps me keep my meal low carb. After a long flight, we saw this restaurant along the route to our resort. I am usually not that pleased with their food, but this time it was all about convenience - we were tired and hungry and just wanted to pick something up and get back on the road. I must say, my husband and I were very pleasantly surprised by how really delicious the food was. I had the sesame chicken and the grilled teriyaki chicken along with fried rice. My husband had something spicy and the noodles and then we shared the rice and noodles. Everything was very good - including the service. I have went to this location several times and each time the food looks absolutely disgusting, as if it's either old or has sat under a lukewarm lighting. Today I was so hungry but didn't want to drive to the Kihei location which is the only one that actually has fresh food, but yet again today this is what I got, the egg roll looked like it is spoiled there is absolutely no freshness to this and for me just to have gotten this it should not look like this. The chicken that's supposed to be string bean chicken looks disgusting undercooked the sesame chicken looks as if it's been dried out and sitting food should not look like this, nor should it even taste like this this location for me is definitely the definition of insanity doing the same thing overthinking that I'm gonna get a different result. Honestly always so surprised how busy this Panda Express is! Lol. The line wraps around the whole building at times, especially during dinner. Since the start of the pandemic, I've generally stayed away from big box, national chains. However, back in March someone mentioned orange chicken in one of their reviews and I just could not stop thinking about it and had to get orange chicken. I put an order in online (this was my first time doing so) and instead of plate lunches, I went the ala carte route. I loaded up on orange chicken, chow mein, mushroom chicken, and some cream cheese rangoons. I rolled up to the restaurant and as expected - all the chairs inside were stacked up with no indoor seating available. The online orders are placed at a table by the cashier so skip the line and walk on down that way. The whole process of ordering and picking-up was so fast and easy that I ordered again a few weeks later for my whole family. Except the second time around, my order wasn't ready at the time I designated. I had to wait about 10 - 15 minutes which was a little annoying considering I was trying to time everything perfectly - hence the 4 stars. It happens. What matters to me the most though is that the food tastes good and Panda Express always nails the orange chicken! Yes, it's not traditional Chinese food, but I don't have that expectation and I do very much enjoy their orange chicken. Their mushroom chicken is also a favorite and really at these prices, you can't go wrong. The takeout boxes may seem a little small, but it's actually a really good sized portion! Surprising to say, as a Chinese American with a family restaurant past, Panda Express was a treat. We stopped here on the way to Paia and Piiholo for zip lining, for lunch. Place was very clean, well lit, staff attentive. I had a bowl - one item - beef and broccoli and lo main noodles. Ample serving and the noodles were thin, fried and tasty. My son had a two-serving dish, along with my wife and daughter. Each had noodles, either orange chicken, string bean chicken breast, or mushroom chicken. What made everything fresh, not over-cooked, was the kitchen refills with small batches, so nothing sits in the steam table overcooking. Flavors were good, just right amount of gravy. We also tried a couple of egg rolls and spring rolls as we were interested in quality - and the rolls were tasty. Cabbage and pork, carrots, etc. As long as you stick with these main dishes and don't have any allergies or dietary restrictions that require custom preparation, you should be fine. We will dine at Panda Express in the future near our home, not fearing some overcooked, well-done take-out mess. read more

Very much standard American Chinese chain food, same quantity and flavors as at other restaurants and not as expensive as airport food. Location was clean and they offered the standard samples. The hot spicy Sichuan chicken wasn't much of either - stick with the tried and true orange chicken and other dishes. Spring rolls were good, sweet & sour was on-point. Parking lot was a little crazy since they had a food delivery that day and the truck took up quite a bit of space... the drive thru wraps around the back so couldn't go through there but it made the lot much smaller. read more

As I am boycotting the Lahaina location, and really wanted the Beijing beef, I went to this location before heading home. I was extremely surprised to find that the beef broccoli was rather lackluster. The broccoli itself was not fresh looking and limp. I've never had that experience at Panda. The Beijing beef. Was fried very well. It was a very dark color nowhere near a carmel color that I am accustomed to. And a lot of it was not coded with any sauce. Can't go wrong with Pandas! They have a convenient drive-thru for people who know exactly what they want. If you are indecisive, the skip the drive-thru and head inside to avoid being that person holding up the drive-thru who is trying to decide what to order. Inside, you can peer through the glass food warmers and see what you want. You are also offered samples of the entrees if you are not familiar with their taste. In my opinion. Ordering the two-choice gives you more than the 3-choice. Now why the 3-stars? The cleanliness of the dining area. Tables and chairs are usually littered with the previous patrons food. The food is fresh though taste-wise I prefer the Kaahumanu location better. FOOD: Mushroom Chicken - I always order this as it has a nice, subtle flavor and goes great with the fried rice. The chicken is always tender and the zucchini & mushrooms fresh. Beef Broccoli - Not too shabby for a "fast food" chain. The broccoli is always dark green and usually not overcooked, and the beef tender. Hot & Sour Soup - It's chocked full of egg, tofu, mushrooms, and has a slightly sour flavor and no real spice. This is going to sound weird but, this is actually our favorite of all the Panda locations on island. They are super convenient with the drive thru option. They are also very fast if you have to go inside for counter service. The only cons that are very much a con: The drive way coming in is insane. Be careful of cross traffic. The transient population uses their bathroom facilities. I understand sometimes people just have to use the bathroom. But sometimes that smell is not what you want to encounter when you want to wash your hands before you eat. The chairs drive me crazy. Have you ever heard the sound of a metal chair on tile. It is horrendous. The pros: Always hot and fresh. If you don't like what the batch looks like in the tray you can ask for a new batch. This location will make your chow mein without cabbage if you don't want it. This is important when you have a 1st grader. They give you extra cookies if you ask nicely. read more

I got so sick after eating here today, Wednesday 9/18 around 2 PM. After arriving after my flight I was so hungry and hadn't eaten in hours that I stopped here after my flight arrived. Within 40 min of eating the food (which at least tasted delicious at the time) I felt extremely nauseous and figured I just ate too quickly. I stopped and got some Pepto Bismol, got into my condo and passed out. When I woke 5 hours later I was stuck in the bathroom dealing with a horrible beginning to my vacation. I'm not stranger to Panda Express so I know this is an isolated incident but management, please check your food safety procedures!
