I am in awe at how many dishes the Panda Express in Kahului has regularly available. Their staff is always hustling to keep the food from running out. Panda Express is what I would refer to as "Chinese-ish" Chinese food. But it's quick, easy, affordable, tasty and offers dine-in or takeout as well as online ordering. My regular favorites at Panda Express are the: - Honey walnut shrimp - Eggplant tofu - Shanghai angus steak - Mushroom chicken I'm not a huge fan of the side dishes like the noodles and the fried rice. I usually end up getting the mixed veggies instead, which are a pleasant surprise, as they are quite tasty. Panda Express is a good value for what you get. They even give you the nutritional information for all their dishes in the event you are watching calories or have food allergies. read more

I'm glad that they offered heath conscience menu items such as the string bean chicken and broccoli beef (my staples actually). Not really a fan of the other choices, but they are more than happy to let you sample to help with your decision-making. All entree levels come with the standard side of fried rice, noodles... and I think white rice too but don't quote me of that as I've never asked. I usually enjoy eating at Panda Express but today it was a little off. The standard fried noodles tasted like propane exhaust fumes. Not sure how that happens. The hot peppers in the Kung pau chicken were all burnt black. Usually they're a blackened red. The beef broccoli was very salty and broccoli was over cooked. Oh well. This is by far our favorite place to eat in all of Maui. Have been coming here for 13 years and we have always been treated with a welcoming hello and smiles. Over the years this has become our "Cheers". We simply love the manager and the staff and how kind they always are. It really is hard to find a place on Maui that values their customers like these folks do. The food is always hot, fresh, consistent, soo yummy, and very affordable. The customer service is always top notch and friendly. My son is 11 years old and this is his first choice of place to eat at, and has been his whole life. We recently had a chance encounter to meet the owners of the franchise. They were so kind and so gentle that you would never even know that they were billionaires! It just goes to show the old adage that the captain sets the tone for his ship is sooo true. The attitude of management/the owners is everything and sets the stage for how employees treat customers. I come here pretty much every day. Even before I became a regular I was always greeted as soon as I came in, served quickly and kindly, and the entrées at this location are always fresh. Went to Panda Express Kihei during the Covid 19 and was really impressed with their service and concern for the safety of their customers. They kept social distancing, all wore masks, made sure everything was clean and did it all with a smile. Lili, the manager, was right there with her employees, making sure everything was right, that customers were happy and that your dining experience was great. Sadly, they were all out of chicken when we came to order, but they were in the process of making more, so we got it fresh out of the fryer after waiting for a few minutes. We get there and they are nearly out of tofu. I tell them I will want two orders, and they say OK. Someone finally gets around to taking our order, and when I say I want two orders of tofu, they look at me blankly. I ask if they are making more tofu, and they call back that they need more tofu, which they never started in the first place. I then ask for 2 egg rolls, and am told they will bring me my order. When I get my order a few minutes later, there are no egg rolls and only 3 pieces of tofu to 18 pieces of eggplant. I ask for more tofu, to balance out the eggplant, and they refuse, saying they'd have to charge me more. I ask them again why I have 18 big pieces of eggplant and three small slivers of tofu and the woman insists that's actually too much tofu. After a moment of reflection, knowing this was a losing battle, I eat my meal and leave, vowing to never come back. Every other Panda Express I've been to (on the mainland) apologized for not having a full tray of tofu and even gives me a little extra for the hassle, especially if I have to wait several minutes for them to cook up another tray. My husband, who was given heaping piles of meat for the same price I was charge for heaping piles of eggplant, left with a satisfied belly. My tofu-hungry belly was not happy. This location is right next to Walmart and Target, a great place after doing some shopping. I most always get the chow mein and beef broccoli in a panda bowl. I have been CRAVING shrimp and was SO excited for our family meal. We paid $1.50 more for shrimp and $1.50 more for Angus Beef. It was so disappointing to see the shrimp container HALF FULL when I got home... ESPECIALLY after paying extra for it. $53 for dinner... crab rangoons were burnt with barely any filling too. I know $1.50 is not that much more, but we didn't even get a whole entree. :( read more

One thing that ticks me off is I get the same thing every time I go in but depending on the cashier, the price is always different for the EXACT SAME ORDER! Why?! I know when I go in there I can expect to pay between $12 - $16 for my same order. I have tried comparing receipts to see how it being rung up but as I said it appears to be cashier dependent. We ordered and got our food- ( the employees were very rude and snotty even from at first) and I attempted to pay with one of my 20 dollar bills and the bitch told me it was fake- I held it up In The air and showed her the face in the bill- and she proceeded to examine it herself- putting the bill in the air while holding another bill behind it! She accused me of giving her counterfeit money without testing it with one of those counterfeit testing Markers. Bad Food, Bad Service, No Restrooms: Upon entrance, we noticed a line even though there were many employees behind the counter. Our plates were handed to us by the server prior to payment, causing the cashier to ask for them back to charge us. At most Panda Express restaurants they keep the plate/togo box on their side of the counter until paid. The bathroom had an out of order sign on it, but they unlocked the door for different individuals. After eating, we asked for the key to the restroom, but the assistant manager refused due to the toilet not working. She stated the bathroom is out of order and you should use the Walmart store bathroom instead. She explained that she and her staff all use Walmart bathrooms. The assistant manager was rude, making fun of us with her coworkers regarding our request to use the bathroom. They thought is was funny! After asking for the Panda Express company phone number, the assistant manager provided a store phone number without a manager name. She said they do not have the company phone numbers. The floor was dirty in the building. Shortly after eating, two in our group got sick from the food (the fish was bad). It should have been obvious to us that in a dirty store, you get food poisoning too. I looked up the company phone number online and made a complain. I love eating at Pandas and I always go to this restaurant in town....but I had a bad experience last week...Someone should be wiping down the tables every 20 minutes the tables were dirty, food crumbs, noodles and I mean ALL the tables were not cleaned, and every single trash was over flowed both outside and inside...I even had to tell the cashier to take out the rubbish. One employee even told me sorry when she seen me wiping the table so we could sit down and eat. I've never seen the place that trashed. When my son tried to use the bathroom he came and told me he couldn't because someone bled all over the toilet...I have no idea what's going on over there. read more
