This location is easy to find, has plenty of parking and a friendly staff. They must have a lot of local customers because they seemed to know a lot of the patrons. The store is cute with local art and lots of snacks for sale. Sadly, I didn't like my latte at all. It was revoltingly bitter. I took one sip, and winced. Dear Emanuel, Aloha, I am writing a personal email instead of some scathing review on yelp because I am a local Maui resident and have patronized your business for the last year and half, well, until my latest incident with your staff and the extremely unwelcoming attitude I have always received from one employee of yours in particular. Today was the icing on the cake which has lead me to this email. I am a huge fan of your pressed juices. So much so I have purchased the multi-pack twice, and probably in the ball-park of between 20-30 juices independently after the gym. Even with the price increases I still frequented. Today I went in, returning 7 of the mason jars. Before Covid Happened I learned there is .50 cent refund for returning them. I had no idea as I had always returned the mason jars and purchased new juices! It was a young blond gentleman who was very sweet who told me, after a year of buying juices! My interactions for the most part have been with the Romanian girl, who evidently hates me. I am also half Romanian by blood, not that that matters, but just an FYI. Oh and I always tip. So, today I returned 7 mason jars. I wanted to purchase at least one. I also received a text from Star rewards which I was told would not be honored. Buy one juice, get a second one half off. I have enclosed a screen shot of the special which I was told would not be honored and I agreed to. I was then told because I had purchased the multi-pack that I would not eligible to receive a discount on one juice that I wanted to purchase. So I spent over $100 on juices, which I haven't been able to get due to you guys being closed, and then when I return 7 mason jars I can't even purchase one with a discount? I left today with two juices I had already paid for back in March. I will also enclose the receipt as well. I have three more juices left on my punch card, but after that I will no longer be patronizing Java Cafe. It is unfortunate because I love your products, but due to the poor treatment I have received on more than one occasion I will no longer be going in. I hope you as a business owner can correct the issues with the certain individual I have mentioned above, but I would rather go to another local business where I am treated with respect. However my wife ordered the peanut butter banana toast, which they took a long time to serve. The toast was very dry and somewhat burnt. They also didn't modify her order as she wanted. This is my favorite place to get coffee around Kihei. As someone who comes from San Francisco where they have pretty elaborate coffee houses, Java Cafe's coffee is as good as anywhere. Love their ice latte! Also their pastries are the most unique & delicious that I've experienced on the island. read more

Had a quite good hot whole milk latte. My wife had a bottled local kombucha. The inside is cute, the service was fine. The outside patio is very much in the strip mall parking lot fyi though, so it's a bit noisy and car-filled. The place is fine. The salmon bagel was a good size with lots of fixings, but average on the salmon. I'm not a coffee drinker so can't comment on the main part of the cafe. I made the mistake of looking at yelp for a menu first. The prices on Yelp were much, much lower than what they were in the actual cafe. So my expectations on the pricing was skewed. After the sticker shock set in, I remembered that we went through a pandemic inflation followed by the inflation from a foreign war and regular inflation in the span of a couple of years. I went to the Java Cafe on South Kihei Road for some waffles and avocado toast to share with my wife and kid. The price was nearly double what is listed on Yelp. I ordered to go, so my experience with the service was limited to the order placement and pickup, which was pleasant. The staff was nice and friendly and place was clean and cozy. There was happy music playing on their radio at a comfortable volume. All the breakfast treats on display looked fresh and delicious. And the presentation (even in a to go container) was top notch. My experience with place was good, just keep in mind we've gone through multiple inflations in the span of a short time and workers still need to be paid a living wage. My intentions with this post was just to give people an update of the prices so sticker shock doesn't come as a surprise to others. read more

I didn't get anything else because I had tunnel vision for this delicious heaven in a cup. The service is quick, polite, and efficient.
