i've already reviewed 5 stars but I find it necessary to do so AGAIN I really do love the maui sunrise bagel. I don't know what it is about how they make this, but they do it better than you could ever do at home. Also tried the strawberry Matcha today and it was fabulous. loveeee.

I got the Kihei sunset which hit the spot. Ii must not have read the description thoroughly, but the ice cream at the bottom was a surprise delight. I added mochi but they were small and only a few for the extra $1.50. We were there early so there was plenty of space to sit.

Considering that there are not that many high fibrous foods in Hawaii, my friends and I had to look for acai bowl places around the area. Beach Street was next door to our place so we ended up going twice to get our fibers in. Food quality-wise, we loved the pineapple in our acai bowls. Oh boy. You cannot beat the sweetness of pineapple in Hawaii -- it is just another level of gloriousness. God just looked upon the islands and knew sweet fruits had to be there blessing. The acai and other fruits were great too and had so much natural sugar in it. Apart from food quality, I think the price was extremely high considering it was around $15 a bowl. I might be biased in comparing with healthy yogurt or acai bowls in other states, but justifying $15 is a hard sell. Despite this, I still ended up going twice because it was convenient enough and I definitely needed more fibers. Service was as quick as it can be in such a small truck-like enclosure. Ambiance was great because it was more outdoors. Nothing like eating acai bowls on a nice hot day!

Cute little spot. No inside seating. There are tables outside. Lots of parking near by. We ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich and the vegan acai bowl. My husband said that the sandwich was good, but not a ton of flavor. I thought the acai bowl was one of the best I had ever had. The fruit was fresh and the granola was yummy. They did not skimp on the amount of stuff they put on top the acai. Beach Street is a great place to stop for a treat or breakfast.

We kept seeing this place by our vacation condo and we finally stopped in! So yum! The acai and toppings were great in the bowl we had (hsd the pina colada one). The smoothie was so fresh and tasty. My husband had the Everything on Everything bagel and we all enjoyed it. Lactose-free options are plentiful! Friendly staff :) We will be back! Mahalo!

Our group stopped by here on Thursday (9/12/24) while walking around the town of Kihei in search for dessert. As we were walking, one of my group members suggested we try the shaved ice here. Good thing we did and it did not disappoint! My wife & I ordered the Kihei Sunset and it was pretty good! The vanilla soft serve at the bottom was the highlight since it was pillowy soft and velvety smooth at the same time. This is one of the shaved ice places that I'd recommend if you're staying or around the Kihei area!

A great little spot to grab coffee in the morning, especially when staying across the street! It's an easy, walk up spot with a walk up ordering and pickup window. They do have some picnic tables outside for seating as well. We usually grabbed our bowls and ate at the beach. Good coffee, good açaí! I really enjoyed the piña colada bowl. The cold brew coffee with mac nut syrup was a staple with our group. Staff was friendly and open to modifications on the bowls, which was nice.

Long wait to order but food came out quickly afterwards. Extra surcharge on pineapple right now. The pina colada açaí bowl was yummy.

They have the best prices for shaved ice on Maui, honestly. I never use to get my kids shaved ice because the places were over charging for what you're receiving in my opinion, not this place. It's located in "the rainbow mall" shopping center. A wonderful, kind staff that I'm sure deals with plenty of families and kids so they've got patience. They have a covered seating area that has a great breeze, it's very clean, with a little tv for some more entertainment. If you think all the tables are taken you are mistaking! They have extra personal tables on the back side that's kept up very well. Clean, safe feeling, spacious, private.

I will start off saying that the bagel sandwich that I had was very good. My issue came with the Acai bowl. At almost $15 I would expect a fresh and delicious bowl that I think all of us want in Maui. Instead I got a frozen and clumpy Acai that seemed like it was fresh out of a Costco packet. I have had much better at a typical smoothie place. For $15 it's not worth it.

I was already doing the math and thinking , "Eh, we might be here awhile." But nah, good timing. People were finishing up, bussing tables, and bam, maybe 20-30 minutes tops. Not bad at all. While we was waiting, they come out with waffle samples for everyone in line. I mean... who does that? That's how you keep people from getting all hangry. Instant good vibes, the whole line outside was just smiling and waiting patiently. Finally get seated and both the hostess and waitress were super nice--real friendly, no rush, no attitude. In the front they had mushroom soup on the specials board, so we figured we go sample um. I had them bring a cup of soup out to start along with my wife's coffee. Gotta be honest--when I dipped my spoon in, I was already judging. Looked kinda thin, not creamy like other mushroom soups I've had. I was thinking, "Ahh here we go." Took one spoonful and immediately had to humble myself. That soup was money. Like, stop-talking-and-just-eat. My wife tried it and confirmed that this soup was "winnahs" . Deep mushroom flavor with the right amount of seasoning. It also came with a little piece of focaccia toast which I would have really enjoyed but had to take my wife's word for it since she ate um all . Should've ordered the bowl. Rookie mistake. For my main, I went with the original eggs Benedict. Portions were a little on the small side, but with the roasted potatoes, I was good. Didn't leave hungry, didn't need to loosen the belt--perfect middle ground. My wife got the strawberry waffles and yeah... those were legit. She's not a syrup person, so she asked for more whipped cream. The waitress comes back with a little mountain of whipped cream in the little silver ramekin. All in all, solid spot. Friendly people, ono food, and little touches that make you feel taken care of. We will be heading to Cafe Kaila again to try some other stuff like the "chicken and waffles", and next time, I'm not playing around with the soup. Bowl, Garans.

You can tell they put real care into what they serve, and it shows in every sip. We ordered two lattes, one with brown sugar and one with vanilla, and both were amazing. He said it was one of the best he has ever had, and I have to agree -- buttery, flaky, and so fresh. The shop itself has such a fun, cozy vibe. The barista was super friendly and even made the cutest latte art, which totally made my day. I ordered a 12 oz and loved that it came in a mug, while my husband got a 16 oz to-go. My only wish is that they would offer mugs for the larger sizes too. It would be a nice way to cut down on paper and plastic and make the experience even better. Overall, Akamai Coffee is a gem. After looking over the menu I decided on a Haleakalatte and chose to get it hot. The menu described it as a deep rich caramel latte. As I watched the barista make my drink, I noticed it was going into a plastic cup, which meant iced. It ended up coming out as a large iced coffee. Since it wasn't a big deal, I took it and went on my way. The coffee itself ended up being pretty good. The caramel flavor was on the lighter side, adding some sweetness without overpowering the coffee. The coffee itself was rich and came through nicely. I also liked that they used coffee ice cubes, which helped prevent the drink from getting watered down as the ice melted. If anything, it added a slight bitterness, which I didn't mind. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. While I would have preferred the hot latte I ordered, the iced version worked out just fine and was still enjoyable.
