Not so here. The banana bread in this dessert was some of the best we had on the island during our entire two-week stay! I can't comment on the rest of the menu, since we didn't try anything else, but people seem to rave about other items here, too. The make-your-own shave ice at the Ultimate Shave Ice station seems to be a unique take on a Hawaii staple, and it's up to you whether you prefer an expert to be making yours rather than guessing at how to make it yourself, but if you want to be the boss, well, here you go! And it's definitely a hit with kids, as you might imagine. And their pineapple cream claims to be a much better and natural version of Dole Whip, so it's probably worth a try! Located in a modern strip mall, service here is friendly, and you may need to wait in line for a little while, depending on when you come. Not a ton of seating inside or out, but we did score a table outside and enjoyed our dessert in the beautiful Maui weather. The prices are about what you'd expect, no more and no less, and worth every penny! So do not pass up this dessert spot when you come to this part of the island. We ended up getting 3 different flavors. I got the one sugar free dairy free option that they had which I think was a raspberry sorbet and it was delicious!!! I usually dislike sorbet, but this one was not too sweet and perfectly refreshing on a hot day. It was full of raspberry seeds and felt like it actually was mostly made up of fruit. It was tasty but not particularly memorable. Later in the week I got the mint and chocolate one. It sounded a little sketch, like mint chocolate chip ice cream. After I got my drink and settled to the table behind, I noticed the line was gone and he had temporarily closed the shop. There is a fruit stand next door so I didn't mind the wait since my kids did some shopping. This was the only juice stand off of Honoapilian Highway around Lahaina that I saw. Good to stop by for some fresh drinks but be prepared for the wait and brace yourself with the service.

I asked for limes to go with my tacos order (which typically are given with street tacos) and was given 1/8 of a lime for 4 tacos and birria plate. Asked for more and was told "I can't give them out for free since it will be taken from my check". So I asked to purchase more. I was charged almost $2 for approximately 5 more sliced wedges of lime. I spend about $70 plus tip and couldn't get a half of a lime which is insane. The response that they can't gives limes or it will be taken from their check is ridiculous. I really hope that's not the case from the owner! After my order, my family of 12 (who were planning to order after me) went to the food court instead. And when asked if they had a QR code to add a Yelp review, I was told to "look at the name on the truck" my receipt says JJs Tacos but the truck says Taco Zone.
