A food truck in South Maui Garden. They serve acai bowls and smoothies. We got Rio smoothies (acai, banana, strawberries) and it was delicious! My little one drank the whole thing and didn't want to share!

Açaí bowl.

Hands down the best place to get Açaí bowls in Kihei. Do not go anywhere else. Friendly service and set inside a nursery so there are lots of plants around that makes for a nice setting. 10/10 would recommend.

Medium Jaws plus papaya and cacao nibs
Kijana Q.

The store front is absolutely adorable and the line gets long quick. I sat down with my family at one of the many tables in the little food truck nook. Lots of chickens roaming about the area. I ordered a medium size Jaws with the açai base, and it came with granola, strawberry, mango, toasted coconut flakes, and honey. I added to it papaya and cacao nibs. This was the perfect way to start my day. The bowl is almost ice cold, the fruits are fresh and juicy, the honey added a sweet almost savory aspect to it a the cacao nibs were the perfect semi-sweet addition. Overall the bowl is a 5/5. I can't wait to go back and try another one.

Food: 4.5 - Had the Jaws Small bowl - didn't like the mango in it - to mushy, but was delicious Had the Green Haiku matcha shake - Delicious ! Service : 5 Ambiance : 10 ( it's Hawaii ) Cute area with all the food trucks, nicely laid out and plants everywhere. We will definitely be back

Small Honolua bowl

Pretty good but don't expect spectacular!! I love getting acai bowls and unfortunately the acai flavor wasn't shining through. It was mixed with fruit juice which masked the flavor. The overall ingredient quality of the fruit and service was five stars. I care about organic ingredients so I love that they provide this quality to their customers. This food truck is located in the Maui Gardens- easy to find a table to sit at or go for a walk in the nearby neighborhood.

Sweet Hula is a food truck located in South Maui Market. We ordered two açaí bowls and they are delicious. So refreshing on a hot day. We went to Sweet Hula for breakfast want something lite and cool on this hot day. Service was kind and quick. I actually also dropped my bowl and lost my strawberries. I explained to the server what happened and she replaced my strawberries at no additional cost. I thought that was pretty awesome. I would definitely return on my next visit. (I created a collection of all the restaurants we visited on Maui from fine dining to food trucks and all in between.)

I'm hooked. Best acai bowl I've had on island. I've been loyal to the Honolua Bowl so far- so delicious!

Medium bowl with blue majik spirulina as the base, topped with granola, strawberries, mango, pineapple, and cacao nibs

I went to this place on a Monday afternoon, and it wasn't busy at all, so I was able to walk right up to the window to place my order. I ordered a medium bowl with blue majik spirulina as the base, topped with granola, strawberries, mango, pineapple, and cacao nibs. There were plenty of seating and open picnic tables to wait at. My order came out very quickly, about four minutes after ordering. The bowl was delicious. The fruit tasted very fresh and flavorful, and everything came together with the perfect balance of sweetness. Overall, a great experience and a refreshing, satisfying bowl.

Matcha bowl with almond butter
Ashwini A.

SERVICE - located in kihei food oasis - parking available on street or in nearby lots - plenty of coveted seating at benches shared between other trucks - friendly staff who explain menu well and work fast to make bowls - good for a casual brunch or snack MENU - smoothie bowls - vegan/vegetarian friendly - average price ($15 per bowl) FOOD - matcha bowl (8/10): matcha coconut base topped with mango, blueberry, coconut, and granola. I added almond butter as well. I liked this base better than the blue majik. The base itself is sweetened so the bitterness of the matcha cuts through the sweetness of both the sugar and the coconut. I also liked the combination of the tart blueberries and just ripe mango as fruits. I think the almond butter should be a default addition as it adds a needed element of creaminess and nuttiness. - blue majik bowl (7/10): coconut and pineapple cream with spirulina topped with strawberry, blueberry, pineapple, and coconut. This was sweeter than the other one despite the acidity from the pineapple. It is aesthetically appealing because of the bright blue hue but flavorwise could have used more pineapple. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! The food truck area was fun and the bowls were decent

I really like this place. This was my first time trying Sweet Hula. The acai bowl was really yummy. It tasted really good. This was a great snack. I would highly recommend this place. It's a must try.

Sweet Hula made bomb acai bowls. The kind we craved and it was amazing! My peeve, an acai bowl with the base that is a sorbet. Not blended acai like it should be. Thank you Sweet Hula for making a legit bowl with blended base. Located in Kihei with the food trucks. It was so good we came back the next day to get another bowl. We all ordered the Molokini with added bee pollen for my daughter and I. My son had the Molokini with cacao nibs. Must try, delicious and satisfying.

Hands down one of the best Açaí bowls I've experienced. I ordered the Jaws which has granola, mango, strawberry, and baked coconut shavings, with a honey drizzle and added bananas. The staff super awesome, nothing but positive vibes. Great ambiance it's in area with a ton of food trucks so if your with a group and need a place for different pallets it's a great hidden treasure.

But nah, good timing. People were finishing up, bussing tables, and bam, maybe 20-30 minutes tops. Not bad at all. While we was waiting, they come out with waffle samples for everyone in line. I mean... who does that? That's how you keep people from getting all hangry. Instant good vibes, the whole line outside was just smiling and waiting patiently. Finally get seated and both the hostess and waitress were super nice--real friendly, no rush, no attitude. In the front they had mushroom soup on the specials board, so we figured we go sample um. I had them bring a cup of soup out to start along with my wife's coffee. Gotta be honest--when I dipped my spoon in, I was already judging. Looked kinda thin, not creamy like other mushroom soups I've had. I was thinking, "Ahh here we go." Took one spoonful and immediately had to humble myself. That soup was money. Like, stop-talking-and-just-eat. My wife tried it and confirmed that this soup was "winnahs" . Deep mushroom flavor with the right amount of seasoning. It also came with a little piece of focaccia toast which I would have really enjoyed but had to take my wife's word for it since she ate um all . Should've ordered the bowl. Rookie mistake. For my main, I went with the original eggs Benedict. Portions were a little on the small side, but with the roasted potatoes, I was good. Didn't leave hungry, didn't need to loosen the belt--perfect middle ground. My wife got the strawberry waffles and yeah... those were legit. She's not a syrup person, so she asked for more whipped cream. The waitress comes back with a little mountain of whipped cream in the little silver ramekin. All in all, solid spot. Friendly people, ono food, and little touches that make you feel taken care of. We will be heading to Cafe Kaila again to try some other stuff like the "chicken and waffles", and next time, I'm not playing around with the soup. Bowl, Garans.

Despite being an unpublished novelist, I am writing my first review after 18 years of yelp reading in honor of the porkie sandwich. So I can say what I say to everyone who goes to the south side of this island- "Go to 808 Deli." I admit I don't go south side often. It's a bit of a drive. I literally, for years, have used 'well, at least I can go to 808 Deli' as my reason to go. So, you might as well go. And get the porkie. Laugh if you like, but this sandwich is no joke.

This deli is located in a strip mall and is bigger inside than it looks from the outside. On one side they have the ordering area with a beverage cooler, a display case, and hats for sale with their logo. The other side has seating and can probably fit around 30 to 40 people. For lunch on this day I went with the chicken pesto panini while my father went with a hot dog with mustard and sauerkraut. The menu described my sandwich as chicken breast, sun dried tomato, toasted pine nuts, provolone, and pesto spread, and my father's simply as sauerkraut and mustard. It was busy when we were there, so it took about 10 minutes to order and another 15 minutes for the food to come out. Since we ordered separately, my food came out first and even though I planned to wait, I had enough time to eat it while waiting for my dad's. The chicken pesto panini ended up being quite good. The chicken was moist and flavorful and there was more than enough cheese. The sun dried tomatoes added a nice pop of flavor, although I wish there had been more. My favorite part was the pesto spread and pine nuts, especially the garlicky flavor from the pesto. My dad also thought his hot dog was good. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I enjoyed my sandwich and my dad enjoyed his hot dog, so I would be interested in trying more of the menu.

We've eaten here a few times and I got to try everything, so I think I have a good take on the place. My initial quest was to try every buffet in Maui island, specifically to find a made-to-order buffet here in Maui (post-transplant patients have to stay away from buffets due to cross contamination, germs, etc). I've eaten here pre and post op and it's good, decent! It's not comprehensive, as it's a small, tiny buffet, but for what it offers, I like it. From a year or two ago, it was $22, then late last year it jumped to $25, and when we went today (6/2023) it is now $30. Still cheap considering you can easily spend that, for 2 people (especially at a hotel buffet). You check in with the person at the podium adjacent to the buffet nook to pay first and put in your initial order. The menu of the made-to-order items are on an upright menu and consist of: loco moco, avocado toast, egg tarts (leek, spinach and cheese, and Swiss), egg scramble on toast, oatmeal, Belgian waffles, etc). You can also order lattes and cappuccinos here, but they're trash because they come from one of those kureig things. Very watery. In the actual DIY area of the buffet they have: charcuterie board, hard boiled eggs, toast, bagels, muffins, croissants, fresh cut fruit like blueberries, melons and strawberries, cereals like cheerios and granola, cartons of milk, carafes of juice like OJ, apple, pineapple, water and iced coffee. A breakfast yogurt with chia seeds, and oatmeal toppings like brown sugar, dried cranberries, etc. All your condiments like ketchup, Tobasco, sugar, and utensils are in the buffet area as well. I deducted a star because seating is weird and kind of sparse, and the coffee is bad. Again, their selection is smaller than conventional buffets, especially for hotels, but I've always left content and happy. If you like having many options to try for a meal that buffets offer but in a made-to-order format, come here. Along with the always friendly hostess/server, I'll come back.
