This little cafe has a super cute beachy vibe! My friend and I stopped in to grab coffees on a Sunday morning before doing a walk at ocean beach, so it was perfect location! We came here as a party of five and they were very accommodating! We were able to sit outside but the beach and it was amazing! I was pleased with the weather and the taste of everything. The only downside was the trash man kept speaking to us while we were trying to enjoy our breakfast and it smelled slightly. The convenient placement of this place is also great! My friends and I came from the Golden Gate Park Windmill and were hungry. We walked all the way to the cafe enjoying the breeze and waves. The cafe had an area to sit with decent amount of room inside and outside which was quite nice. I ordered a Java classic (Kelly's Cove) and it was packed with turkey, lettuce, tomato and onion. This place was right next door to the room I was staying in for the weekend. I tried their vanilla bean latte and a bagel on Saturday morning and it was delicious. I went back on Sunday and tried the butterscotch latte, and that one was better than the first one. Also had their breakfast burrito and it was so good. It was on the sweeter end but so yummy and delish if that's your thing or your in the mood. Otherwise, I would opt for the caramel latte which was perfectly done creamy and frothy and not as sweet. Good coffee here! They have amazing pastries and sandwiches. This time i tried the veggie bagel with its pesto cream cheese=delicious! Previously I've had their soups and was super happy with all I've ordered. The place is full of people in the morning, seems like a lot of locals and maybe some visitors as well. It was a particularly foggy day, as usual, in this part of SF. I've been going to Java Beach for the past ten years and never ordered anything other than a vanilla latte. Now that I'm more intentional about my relationship with espresso, I decided to try the Muddy Water. Regretted it for sure. Espresso was not tasty in this drink, got worse the cooler it got. Shoulda ordered the latte. I'm doing 3 stars for this one because I hella love Java Beach. Amazing food, best location, and sentimental to me for sure. It was right by the beach and had a lot of places to sight see like lands end and the sutro baths that were walking distance. The place was rightfully packed and the inside was cozy. The staff was welcoming and we were served quickly. They have great vegetarian and vegan options, including their burritos! They were a great size and flavorful but I wish I could taste more of the chipotle aioli. The matcha latte was smooth but I personally like mine a little sweeter. This burrito was super fun! The tortilla was fresh, soft; and chewy. The contents of the burrito reminded me of many a scrambled egg breakfast burritos, however, the tofu was a little under seasoned, so at times the bites of pure tofu were a bit bland. The texture of the soft tofu tried to mimic eggs, but since the seasoning wasn't there, it was clearly just... tofu. The arugula tasted fresh, and the beans gave the wrap a nice southwest-style twist to the breakfast burrito experience. It was very filling; I wouldn't need to eat much else with this for breakfast! Overall, I'd eat this again but perhaps have some hot sauce or other flavor-additive ready to go. The coffees and drinks sounded good, but I didn't end up ordering one... next time I'd try the butterscotch latte, as recommended by the very friendly staff member who took my order. On our way to ocean beach, we grabbed two turkey java club. I can't even forget the experience of having the best turkey club of my life when sitting by the beach. JUST DELICIOUSA! I've been going to Java Beach Cafe for a few years now, and I am huge fan! We usually go for breakfast, and I am always pleased with the number of hearty vegetarian sandwiches and hot beverage options. I typically get the bagel sandwich, but most recently got a "Classic Veggie" - cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, avocado and bean sprouts. The classic veggie really exceeded my expectations - it was the size of a deli sandwich with an overall higher quality. It was slightly more expensive than a deli sandwich at $13.50, but it is understandable given that Java Beach is literally a 2 minute walk from the beach. Covid-19 Note: Java Beach is currently doing take-out and also has some open seating outside. (You can also just eat on the beach). They have a separate ordering and pick up window, which helps with customer traffic somewhat. read more

I found this spot on yelp and when I came to ocean beach, this place I found to be located perfectly. It is one block from the sand and the first/last stop of the public transportation is at their door! The place was vibrant when I walked in, with all ages and purposes. Working, meeting,... or touristing just like myself. The menu was displayed on large wall boards. I ordered an iced latte with almond milk and the whirling dervish veggie sub. I could choose between chips or coleslaw as a side. The sandwich was really delicious and I am so happy I picked the coleslaw because it was probably the best I ever had! Home made dressing with sirracha yet not really spicy but rather sweet, and cranberries on top of it just make this delicious! The sandwich was good but a little dry. I did like it was warm and it had really good flavors. My latte was delicious too. Better than any chain coffee shop will ever serve you. The staff was extremely friendly and worked very fast. They were very accommodating. There is tons of seating both inside as outside. They have their own style. Inside tables are made of surf boards. Or you can sit by the bar. Everything is wood. Outside even on the side every space is used to provide seating. Just so much character in this establishment! The only minor issue was the single restroom, it was gross but I guess unisex and only one available needs constant maintenance to be able to keep it clean. Great experience and very cheap especially for SF and location! I paid $13.20 for my sandwich and latte! Highly recommend!
