They all wore masks last I was in - about 1 month ago. I do not know about their vaccination status though.

This is probably the only place where the sandwiches don't taste like the store's essence…read more I mean, don't get me wrong, a store's essence from any given deli/liquor store definitely adds unique character to the sandwich and sometimes I want that in a sandwich. But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. You're not getting skimped, but you're also not biting into a mouthful of a packet of deli meat. They definitely know what they are doing. Service is good and ambiance is a small humble shop on the corner of 12th Ave.

Double pastrami, horseradish, havarti, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and pepperoncini. A lot going on, and it all came together. The horseradish and havarti gave it enough personality to stand apart from a standard pastrami sandwich, and the garlicky mayo tied everything together. The one casualty of DoorDash was sogginess by the time it arrived. That's not a knock on the sandwich, it's just the reality of ordering something like this for delivery. At $14.50 it's a hearty sandwich at a fair price. I'd recommend it, but eat in.

While I was waiting for my coffee, a pizza passed by with an incredible aroma. It looked so good that I immediately started looking through the menu. To my surprise, I found many of my favorite dishes on it. As a European, I couldn't help but comment on how much I liked the menu and the overall feel of the place. The food selection, presentation, and attention to detail reminded me of the cafés I enjoy back in Europe. The young woman who served my cappuccino welcomed me with a warm smile and was genuinely friendly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I came in for a coffee and left excited to return. I'll definitely be back soon to explore the menu and try more of their dishes.

Beware of the setting sun - it can be intense as it moves! But that's not a fault. I was greeted by cheerful, kind service from the attentive team. A number of fun and interesting wines are available by the glass - I chose an extra brut pet-nat Pinot Grigio to start and a Mendocino Sangiovese with my food. The Vitamin C Salad was flavorful and a bit unique with its pistachio vinaigrette dressing. Fresh ingredients in all the food. My Margherita pizza was a rectangular 8 piece gem, with vivid tomato flavors and ample cheese. The crust was equally delicious and suited the pizza just right. I would definitely return to try some of the different other selections. This is a place worth navigating to. Perhaps if you're headed for a little walk at Lands' End - or headed to Baker what's up , this is a great stop. I'll definitely make another visit down the road!
