Whether you're going to the zoo, heading to Sunset Dunes, or just live in the neighborhood, Java Beach is a good stop for a snack. Java Beach has several tables both inside and outside. I often see people bringing their babies or dogs and eating outside when it is sunny. They keep a bowl of water out for the furry friends. I usually get their sandwiches, with the club being my go to. You can get a standard club sandwich but you also have the option of having it on a Dutch Crunch. I almost never turn down a dutch crunch option, and it does well with club ingredients (turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo). The house coffee is solid but not always consistent day to day. One thing that could be improved is speed. It's a relatively low staff cafe for the amount of foot traffic they get, so you might have to wait a while for your order. Also, they don't always get the order exactly right (e.g., wrong cheese in my wife's sandwich, wrong bread on an order in the past). It's also not cheap, but hey, it's a cafe near the beach. Overall, pretty solid food and coffee, and worth stopping by if you're in the area.

I really love coffee. I love to support family business. I'm not that type of person that will go to a Starbucks or a big coffee franchise the place look nice and clean very good energy. Nice to see the community enjoying The only issue that I order a coffee latte to be more specific was the 12 oz I think $7.5 it's a bit higher for to go coffee

After a red eye and arriving on an overcast day, all I really needed was coffee and a hot breakfast. I looked at convenient spots to stop along my route and found this place. It's located near the zoo with plenty of free street parking around. Also walkable from the zoo if need breakfast or a place to take a break. Ordering inside was a snap, the staff was quick with orders. They have a great selection of coffee, pastries, and hot sandwiches. I opted for the breakfast burrito which came out super hot and fresh. Prices were reasonable. They have outdoor seating, and indoor bar and table seating. With the quick nature of their menu, seats opened quickly even on a busy day.

I don't know about you, but if you spend a couple of hours at the zoo like I did, watching cuddly animals doing their thing, you may not be in the mood for eating meat at lunch afterward. It's not as if I had a conscience. I just had a "Circle of Life" moment when I got up to the order counter and decided to get the $15.95 Beetnik Salad, a healthy veggie compilation, along with a $6 Arnold Palmer (Photo 6). It was a blend of arugula and romaine lettuce mixed with roasted beets, Full apple slices, chopped dates, roasted almonds, and Parmesan cheese (Photo 7). I asked for their thick housemade green goddess dressing on the side but ended up tossing it in myself since it was pretty tasty. All around my solitary table were laptoppers who were in for the long run. The subs and wraps looked delish. Next time. FOOD - 4 stars...genuinely fresh salad you shouldn't drown with dressing AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars..pleasant enough but swarming with laptoppers SERVICE - 4 stars...attentive at the counter TOTAL - 4 stars...nice place for a post-zoo nosh RELATED - Exploring the Sunset? Whether you're going to the beach or zoo this spot is in the perfect place for a quick little pick me up. There's food, drinks, and everytime I pass by there's a good amount of people are sitting and enjoying their items or people waiting for their drinks to go. The ambiance gives cute little beach town cafe. I'm not gonna lie I had low expectations for my drinks but I was blown out of the water with the quality. Only thing that sucks is that they have small shop hours and close pretty early in the day. So if you get the chance to go I say take it!

I am so sad to say this, but Java Beach is no more... They changed all their food vendor to Sysco and now everything tastes like garbage, along cutting half the menu. I have LOVED their Tsunami sandwich for over a decade and now it tastes nothing like the old sandwich. The bread is thin and airy, the contents all feel cheap. I am going to finish my meal and bid goodbye. I wish them luck with this new direction while I morn the death of Java Beach.

Habit not to check reviews and only my personal experience A breakfast burrito, one cup of orange juice from gallon jug and a coffee all with no bag roughly 27.00 and some change Would never again for this price and quality. Eggs and bacon have been somewhat consistent in pricing tortillas the same as well don't believe there's any cheese in there if so never tasted can't really justify the amount of money for a burrito like that but limited selection near the water online photo of their menu, showing the burrito compared to what was received Drastically different Orange juice and coffee taste OK coffee was lukewarm

If you want to get a coffee before or after visiting the SF Zoo, this is the place. There is space to sit down inside or outside (WiFi included)The associates were really helpful and delightful. I ordered a large Mexican Vanilla bean latte, my first time trying it and it was a pleasant surprise. They sell ice cream too. Highly recommended this place.

Cute cafe by Ocean Beach. The veggie bagel was delicious. Good bagels and large selection of coffee, espresso drinks, teas, soda, and beer. Perfect stop after the beach!

Rise and Shine! Ever…read moresince I heard about Rise Bagel, I've been craving a really good bagel. Unfortunately, I don't live in SoCal and don't have one near me, so I've been on a mission to find something that could satisfy the craving. I've had my fair share of lox bagels, but this was definitely the first time I've ever dropped $20 on ONE bagel. Sounds a little obnoxious, I know, but after eating it, I fully believe it was worth it. After many trials, errors, and disappointing lox bagels, I think I finally found the one. The thick, smooth cream cheese paired perfectly with the salty, buttery smoked salmon, all piled onto a perfectly toasted bagel. Then you get that little briny, pickled punch from the capers that cuts through the richness of the cream cheese and balances everything out. And when they call this a bagel sandwich, they mean BUSINESS. The second you see it served open-faced and absolutely loaded with toppings, you know they're not messing around. Personally, I actually prefer my lox bagels open-faced because it makes it easier to eat and lets you enjoy each half without everything sliding out after one bite. Is $20 for a bagel slightly unhinged? Maybe. Would I pay it again? Absolutely. If you're a smoked salmon or lox bagel person like me, this one is definitely worth the splurge.

One thing that I look for when I got to places like this is cleanliness. I can say they passed the test. Things looked clean and orderly. It's a small cafe with one indoor table and few outside ones. As soon I walked in I was greeted by staff member. Since it was my first time I needed sometime to look over menu to decide what to get. I opted for the Mediterranean bagel and added bacon and avocado. I couldn't decide what coffee to get, and asked the cashier his advice. To which he replied the maple and sage coffee was good. I decide to try it out. Mediterranean bagel 5/5 sooo good, they have a variety of bagels to choose from. I was debating between the Calabrian chili bagel which sounded interesting. But decided to get garlic bagel instead. It surely didn't disappoint! It has perfect amount of garlic and was fresh. I believe they make there bagels here in house. I added bacon and avocado to this one, and it took this sandwich up a notch. The bagel was perfectly seasoned, flavorful, and filling. Maple and sage Coffee 2/5 Ok, so I decided to get this one iced (you can get this hot or cold). I was disappointed in this drink because, I couldn't taste the sage at all in this drink. It's such a unique specialty coffee and I would've loved taste a nice balance of the maple and sage. It tasted more like a caramel iced coffee to me. So I went will opt out of this drink next time. Service 5/5 Staff here is friendly the young man that was the cashier; was super helpful and patient in helping me decide on what to order. Now this place is a bit pricy I will say for bagel with added on bacon and avocado it was 20 dollars, and coffee was 7 dollars. Altogether, I spent almost 30 dollars. Overall, I feel this place is a great choice of you're looking for a quick breakfast and coffee. Nice staff, clean, and has indoor and outdoor seating if you prefer to hangout and enjoy the weather on a sunny day in SF.

My wife and I were meeting someone in San Francisco in the afternoon and we wanted to eat lunch beforehand. We were interested in trying Wise Sons Deli since we have heard so many people praising it. Since we were coming into the city via BART, this location was great. The ambiance is pretty basic; ordinary tables and chairs and only some photos on one wall. You order and pay at the counter and then someone will deliver the food to the table. If you want coffee or water it is serve-yourself. However, the food is fantastic! My wife ordered a corned beef Reuben sandwich ($18.50). It was thick and very tasty. I ordered a House Special Pastrami Reuben that had a smaller Reuben sandwich, french fries, a side of cole slaw, and a drink ($19.50). While it had half as much meat as the regular Reuben, it was still a good size. They make their own Pastrami and Corned Beef and it tastes great. I guess I should elaborate a little more for all y'all faithful Yelp readers. I tried a couple of different bagels at Noe Bagel. The sesame and everything bagels are both generously coated, with a beautiful outer crust that has just the right texture. The inside is soft and chewy. It's a classic New York-style bagel that will satisfy even your strongest bagel cravings. The mini bagels maintain that same excellence, just in a smaller form. Because of their size, the crust-to-center ratio gives you more of the micro-blistered snap that I love about bagels. Personally, I'd choose two or three minis over one regular bagel. The cream cheese is also excellent--well-balanced and smooth. My favorite is the blueberry cream cheese. It has just a hint of sweetness that brings out the richness and creaminess of the cheese. And, like many spots in San Francisco, they offer a sourdough bagel. It's quite different from their sourdough bread, but I enjoyed it. If you're visiting, I'd recommend giving it a try. For my everyday go-to, I'd stick with a classic sesame or plain bagel, but Noe Bagel has enough variety to keep things interesting if you want to switch it up regularly. As a bonus, they sell day-old bagels by the bag for $4. You can freeze them, eat them as-is, or repurpose them into bread pudding. You'll end up with an interesting dish thanks to all the different bagel varieties mixed together--but that's part of the fun!
