We arrived around 10:50 PM to sit at the bar, but it was full, so we settled at a nearby high top. After being ignored by our server for over five minutes, we were told at 10:56 PM that the kitchen was closed. Strangely, as soon as the men at the next table pushed back, the server magically let them order food. So clearly, the kitchen wasn't "closed"--just selectively closed. The situation got worse. Around 12:07 AM, the heavy set female manager with dreads--loud, rude, and clearly favoring the male guests--started yelling at everyone. She was nice and jolly to the men but very disrespectful toward us. She shouted at us to leave, repeatedly asked the server if we had paid, and hovered aggressively while I was finishing my last bit of salad. When I said I didn't need a box, she snapped, "Well, we're closed, make your way to the door." Completely unprofessional. The whole environment felt hostile, unwelcoming, and frankly, discriminatory. To top it off, they stopped serving bread before 11 PM--why, if they're "open" until midnight? I've never felt more disrespected at a restaurant. Me & my husband went to Maryland to visit family, and we stayed in Upper Marlboro, MD. We checked into our hotel and was hungry we didn't know the area, so we drove around and we found Jasper's. We decided to go inside and just look at the menu; we thought it had a good vibe even though they had a Police car in front of their front door. (thought that was odd) We were seated right away, and David was our waiter, very nice and helpful in helping us decide on what to order. David had a welcoming face, and he looked like he was happy to work there. We came back there to eat before we left back to CA, and we sat at the Bar ordered food, and David brought our food out to us. "He's like you are back?" I was really surprised he remembered us. The service was good, food was great, and I even ordered food to go. I brought the Sweet Potatoes back to CA and let my daughter try it, she wanted more. I've been to jasper's a few times but always for their brunch. This is the first time I've come for dinner. It was very nice. I had the salmon and grits and it was mouth watering delicious. The salmon was tender and well seasoned and the grits were the perfect texture ( not soupy or too firm) and well seasoned. My friend had the seafood gumbo and he enjoyed it as well. The bread brought to the table was delish and the atmosphere was lively especially around the bar with not a mask to be seen. No Covid precautions here so go with that in mind. Was visiting the area to go to the Washington Commanders game on Sunday. When we arrived at our hotel on Saturday, we saw Jasper's. We went there for dinner. Had to sit at the high tops by the bar as the hostess said they were booked, but we saw empty tables (it was around d 4:30 pm). Anyway, we sat by the bar and had a delicious dinner. The shrimp and grits were exceptional and my husband's dinner was the fried chicken. The white sangria was the best. We had dinner, caught up on the days' college football scores. Welcome to PG County! If you want the full PG experience you must come to Jaspers! This place reminds me soo much of my experience as a PG County resident. We were greeted as a party of 3 for my birthday and sat immediately. Our waitress took our order two of us got the drunken ribeye and one got the seafood broil. Some of the food on the seafood platter wasn't cooked properly so it had to go back. Our steaks were scrumptious and the 20oz margarita was yummy! Jasper's is located in Largo, MD near the. FEDEX stadium. Went there on a Sunday afternoon. Around 12:30pm, upon walking in there was a 45 minute wait, however I was seated in 30 mins. The ambiance was nice and the restaurant was full. The brunch buffet was being served for $29.99, but there was only 45 mins to enjoy the buffet before it closed so I ordered a dish. I ordered a Champagne Mimosa and the Blackened Salmon and Grits. Everything was tasty. The salmon was cooked perfectly served over top shrimp infused cheddar grits with a cream based spinach and corn creole sauce. The bread they served with the dish was amazing! The waiter wasn't as attentive to as I thought she could be, but she was very pleasant. Overall great food and pleasant experience. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday around 3. We wanted to sit at the bar, but there were no seats. Try to get a seat at the back bar, but we towed it does not open until around 3:30 or four since they were transitioning from brunch. So, I had to wait a little while, but it was OK. Service is a little slow. We come here all the time, but today our cups were not filled up. Most of us had about a half a glass for our drink. That was disappointing. read more

They provided extra sauce for us and we didnt even ask or need it lol! The server who served us was very nice, attentive, & thorough! Really enjoyed the food! The Coco-pina was good even though it wasnt cold or filled with ice. Cons: chicken was not cleaned and the feathers weren't plucked from Albert (chickens name)! Large bar, late hours, live fights I met a friend from out of town who was staying at a hotel nearby for a "late" dinner - 8:30pm on a Sunday. It's the only restaurant that I am aware of that stays open past 9pm on Sunday in the Largo/Glenarden area. Most others close at 9pm. The bar has large open seating tables so we were able to grab a seat there to avoid the 35 minute wait. The server was attentive, quick and very professional. The music was good until.... Two women were arguing at the bar. Suddenly the music stops which results in everyone realizing that a fight is about to pop off. I know that there is security AND police in the building so surely they are going to diffuse the situation. Nope, the let the women fight (while standing right next to them). Then break up the flight (after shirts were torn and wigs on the floor). Then proceed to arrest the women and escort them out. Needless to say, the situation should have been de-escalated. And the DJ is messy for turning off the music. Moving on to the food - 3 out of 5. Cleanliness...ummm, let's say that the dishes were not clean and what appeared to be a fly was on my plate, along with crumbs and other debris. I sent my plate back and got another. But at that point I did not eat. The waiter felt bad and removed the item from the bill. My 2 stars are for being open late and having plenty of parking. Second time I've been here and I forgot about the bread! It was such a great surprise when the waiter brought some to the table with that yummy honey butter. I was about to just order water but you know I had to get those wings. I kept going back for the rolls. They are what filled me up the most. Goodness knows I don't need more rolls but I really do enjoy them. I haven't tried anything else on their menu because nothing really appeases me. My homegirl gets their salmon pasta dish and is her go to. I don't know if I'll trust them to make something like that for me. All the food was very good. Drinks: 8/10. My friend got the Mai Tai which he enjoyed. It was only $8. I was shocked. I think that's another reason why this place is so popular. Very reasonably priced drinks. I'm not a big drinker, so i got a glass of the one cab they had in the menu. which was not very good. But i do understand this is probably not the place to order wine. Customer service: 9/10. The bar was packed so we sat at a bar top and received full service there which was great. We didn't have to wait to sit. We had a great server who was friendly, checked on us regularly. Ambiance: It's very lively here. A bunch of people having a good time. The food here is actually very tasty. I've had several food items from here. The Caesar salad with blackened salmon is really good although for a million dollars I couldn't tell you why it's called a Caesar salad honey because there's nothing "Caesar" about it. The chicken and waffles was surprisingly great! The chicken breasts were large and perfectly seasoned (I mean perfectly). The waffles had great flavor, thickness, and texture (soft with a crunch). The tiger wings are amazing (make sure to ask for the creamy Italian on the side!!!!! - a MUST) It's just that Lord have mercy they take so long to greet the table, bring drinks, and check on tables. They bring hot, soft rolls with a sweet butter to the table when you first arrive though. However, I really wish management would take more pride in this place because they have a good thing going! This is a nice restaurant. It's usually always packed anytime I've been. This last time, I tried the collards with tiger thighs and when I tell you... it was was so good! Came here for the first time in 17 years.. crazy, i know. My fam used to come for the sunday brunch buffet, remember that? In light of recent unfortunate news, it was brought into my mind again.. figured id check it out as an adult cuz the menu actually looked pretty good. Made the mistake of coming after a Redskins game Sunday evening- it was PACKED but i found a seat at the bar (a benefit of rolling solo). Was greeted after a couple mins by a friendly bartender. Got my drink promptly but my order of New Orleans Shrimp took quite a while. Tried to be patient given the volume of ppl.. until a couple sat next to me, ordered and got their food in ten mins, by this point id been waiting damn near 40-45 mins!!!! I was about to complain but my food came out after theirs. AFTER theirs. Pissed. I think dude forgot to put in my order initially cuz i saw him look at me and my drink about half way through, make a face and put something into the system. I have came to this Jaspers location multiple times throughout the years. So this review is long overdue. Valentines Day is within the week and they had nice decorations displayed in the front of the restaurant behind the host stand. It was lunch time on a Monday and there was a nice sprinkle of patrons throughout the restaurant. The bathroom was in decent condition but could've been more tidy. I normally order the Salmon Teriyaki but it wasn't on the lunch menu so I decided to try something slightly different. I ordered the Blackened Salmon with Grits. The salmon was cooked perfectly, seasoned deliciously, tender and juicy. Unfortunately, the grits were over seasoned and the texture was off. I ended up putting the salmon on a Caesar salad & enjoyed my meal much better. There was also Louisiana Shrimp & Grits, Salmon BLT, & a Chesapeake Fried Chicken sandwich ordered at my table, all with thumbs up. The drinks were strong. The server was friendly & attentive. The drinks were strong, definitely got me right! I tried the crab cake egg rolls, unfortunately they just weren't good to me. But the tiger wings are must get. Fairly mediocre meal. I ended up getting chicken and waffles with the mash cauliflower and we split a tiger shrimp appetizer. The tiger shrimp was pretty good nice and spicy but a little over sweet and the main dish that I had was kind of bland so I asked for hot sauce. Overall the place is quite huge very expansive restaurant there was a little bit of a wait. I ended up not using the bathroom but my friend did and she said it was clean service was pretty good no major issues parking lot is free and it is quite expansive. I am visiting family for the holidays and we decided to try out jaspers. First of all they have a really big menu. Too much to choose from was the first red flag! Our waitress seemed like she was high off something. I ordered the spicy shrimp and chicken pasta because it came with scallions. When they brung the pasta out it had no scallions, so I asked about the scallions. They said they didn't have any. I was so annoyed because that was the main reason I got the pasta. The shrimp was super bland and soggy, you could tell it was frozen shrimp and not fresh. The pasta itself had no taste at all. Not even spice. The garlic bread was cold And soggy . We had a fantastic experience with our server, Joy--definitely ask for her section if you're dining in. The wings were tasty, and the bread and butter were delicious, though the crab egg roll had a bit too much of a fishy taste for my liking.
