Fairly mediocre meal. I ended up getting chicken and waffles with the mash cauliflower and we split a tiger shrimp appetizer. The tiger shrimp was pretty good nice and spicy but a little over sweet and the main dish that I had was kind of bland so I asked for hot sauce. Overall the place is quite huge very expansive restaurant there was a little bit of a wait. I ended up not using the bathroom but my friend did and she said it was clean service was pretty good no major issues parking lot is free and it is quite expansive. If I was in the area I would check it out again read more

Carly was phenomenal!!! Best customer service I've had in a while. She was beautifully pleasant, prompt, courteous, and anticipatory of our needs. The tiger wings were fried well and a fine balance of sweet and spicy. The bread sinfully fresh, soft and satisfying. It was my first time ordering the fish tacos. At first it seemed they were heavy on filler but the flavors were tasty, even if I could have used more fish. This spot is always jumping so they must be doing something right. read more

I have heard of Jaspers for a while, but never been until recently. It seems like a nice place, but the food is just ok. I ordered the steak. The baked potato was actually good. Just too much cheese for me. The strawberry shortcake I got for my birthday was good too. The drink I got was not strong at all, so I would have to drive back to try more. Overall, it was ok. Update - I went back last night 12/18/2019 and sat at the bar! John is a great server and provided amazing customer service. The tiger shrimp and wings were delicious. The crab meat and shrimp cocktail is my favorite! I like Wednesday's at Jasper's. Happy hour goes all night at the bar. I live and work in Northern Virginia so I love getting out to enjoy places that aren't predominately white! I have been so excited about going to a place people I know go to and enjoy! Last night, I checked out happy hour at Jasper's. Major plus: plenty of parking ! Additionally, it's easy to find off the highway. This place seems to be staple among folks who live and work in Prince George's County. I met a few folks from the the Facebook social group DMV Does and we took up 3 high top tables near the bar. The service was ok. It was nothing to rave about and it took some time for my food to come out. I ordered three Georgia Peach.,They were not strong but hit the spot. I had the tiger wings and enjoyed them so much that I ordered another order. I requested all flats but the restaurant wasn't able to provide all flats. I also had the Spicy crab and shrimp cocktail and that was pretty decent. It was very spicy. It could of used a little more seasoni It's not a five star or upscale restaurant so do not go in with those expectations . If you are looking for a casual and predominately black venue to watch the game, people watch, and just chill, this place is awesome! Especially, very refreshing to see all walks of life among black folks! I would like to check out their happy hour on a Thursday or Friday. I would also like to check out their brunch. read more

2.5 stars. I loved Jaspers in Greenbelt but that place is a memory. I grabbed a bite to eat with my friend. Parking was tight. We were immediately seated by the host... he place us in a noisy spot. We tried to tune them but it was hard. Can you believe we were ignored for like 10 to 15 minutes? Servers by passed us then finally we flagged someone down who basically was like somewhat bothered. She took our drink orders and apps . She said shell find our who our server was. 10 minutes later.. total of 25 min later we get our drinks. Our waiter makes a grand appearance. He said he didn't know we were here. Interesting. He takes our order and disappears. Then appears with rolls... He come back and says the cook messed up our order and it will be another 10 minutes. Sigh.. Then he comes with our food and does a drive by. We got our food and already we have problems. We were to have a double order of wings, my buffalo wings looked like the sauce was poured over. Barely any old bay on my wings. My crab dip was cold and barely any tortilla chips. So I sat there unhappy. My friends burger was pink on the inside... it didnt look med well. Thinking the waiter would check on us. Nope. We had flag another waiter to get a manager so we can pay!!! Then he appears and gives a sorry a×× explanation. Saying sorry no one wants to do work. Etc. The service needs to improve!!! I wasted my money on cold food. Not ok!!! read more

I am visiting family for the holidays and we decided to try out jaspers. First of all they have a really big menu. Too much to choose from was the first red flag! Our waitress seemed like she was high off something. I ordered the spicy shrimp and chicken pasta because it came with scallions. When they brung the pasta out it had no scallions, so I asked about the scallions. They said they didn't have any. I was so annoyed because that was the main reason I got the pasta. The shrimp was super bland and soggy, you could tell it was frozen shrimp and not fresh. The pasta itself had no taste at all. Not even spice. The garlic bread was cold And soggy . Let me just say I was not expecting the food to be as good as it was. No complaints here because everything we had was beyond delicious. Yelp you definitely need to update your closing time for them because Friday nights they stay open until 1am and I'm so glad I checked the website. We walked in and definitely got a vibe with the music playing and the restaurant itself was giving off a NOLA vibe to go with the food. The bar was packed and now I know why because the drinks are on point without a doubt. No watered down drinks here baby. Service was great and food came out quickly but everything was definitely fresh. My fiancé ordered 2 bowls of the gumbo and got one too go lol that's how good it was. The Salmon bites melted in your mouth. Hush Puppies fried to perfection and topped off with the honey butter....babyyyyy. Crab cake all lump crab and no filler so you got to give them A for that. I have frequented jaspers since coming back to the area from college twenty years ago. It's a local favorite. The drinks are always good and strong and the bartenders are personable and engaging. On most days there is a pretty good crowd there. The food is decent. Not the best and not the worst but the drinks and energy make up for it. We thought this was a buffet. It's a very nice establishment but the food is mediocre. They did have some good options tho. Like the don julio marg and the side car did what they were suppose to do and the tacos, baby them tacos were food truck worthy The caribbean something was good as well ( all these are on the drink menu ) I ordered the blackened salmon caesar salad with extra caesar. The salmon isn't spicy at all and it comes with a chopped up boiled egg and tomato. I liked it! My sisters and friend ordered what was left in the pictures and the only thing that wasn't liked was the crab explosion, it seemed undercooked compared to someone else's at the table and the mash. The mash seemed boxed. For the table we ordered the crab dip with chips and bread; it was very mediocre, under seasoned... so don't bother. The fish tacos are A1, honestly I'd just ask for four. Oh, also the birthday cake them give is really good! It's like a homemade strawberry shortcake. read more

So like many of the other places i have reviewed, I ventured to this spot due to some friends recommendations. I have now been twice and I keep going on game days meaning it's fairly busy. I love the atmosphere very bar/restaurant type vibe. The bar area feels like a bar and the areas outside the bar very much feel like a restaurant. The first time I went there were about 10 of us 5 showed up at one time then another 5 later and they allowed us to grab two booths back to back to keep us close together. I appreciated that. I ordered a burger and mac & cheese with an LIT (Long Island Iced Tea). The burger was good, the LIT was better but the mac & cheese was a slight disappointment. If you've read my other reviews this is an important menu item for me. None the less our waiter was fantastic I wish I remembered his name. The second time around I sat at the bar with a friend had a good experience with the bar staff! They were charismatic, quick, and a polite to talk to. There was a shorter woman with dreads working and a taller man with short dreads (I believe). They were both outstanding. We had a few more friends show up and we finally got seated at our table. Devonte is the reason for 3 stars vs 4 or 5 stars. His customer service was bare minimum almost to the point where I thought he was avoiding eye contact and our table altogether. I think our bill came out in total to be around $200 after ordering a few drinks, shots, and meals . My friend tipped him before he should have and we had to track him down every time after that. After being frustrated I finally asked for his name to make sure I included it here and could get his attention even through other waiters. I will be back because 3/4 waiters have been nothing far from amazing but I will avoid Devonte's section. read more

The service was amazing and they are practicing great COVID precautions as well. I can only imagine how live this place was pre-COVID. So let's go down the line up: Crab egg rolls- They were amazing, it is like a mixture of crab dip and a crab cake combined into a crispy egg roll. 10/10 Spicy Tiger Wings- my husband attempted to act like they were just "okay" ... until I tasted them and I knew he was a complete fraud. Perfect crunch and sauce for the wings. 10/10 Spicy chicken & shrimp pasta- it was good but it is one of those pasta dishes that taste better the next day with reheating. 8/10 Jambalaya over rice: this was also a good dish. The color was a little off to me (personal issue unbeknownst to Jaspers... past life trauma). The taste was pretty good. Honorable mentions- the bread and side salad. 8/10 read more

This restaurant was recommended by a co-worker and I have finally visited here last Sunday for brunch buffer and it did not disappoint! They have an omelette station with chef that cook for you, fajita station, breakfast food such as waffle, french toast, bacon and they also have a section for dessert and fruits! Everything tastes good, the set up was neat and sanitary. The servers are really nice and accommodating! I love the ambiance of this place. The Sunday brunch could get really busy though so plan to go early! They open at 10:00am, we made sure to go before they open and even before 10am there was already a line. And that's when you know the food is really good! The brunch buffet was $26 and includes drinks such as coffee, juices and soda. Alcoholic drinks are additional and it starts at $4 which is not bad at all. There's also plenty of parking! Overall, this place is highly recommended and I will be coming back! read more

The service, cleanliness, and environment were terrible. the waitress took a glass of ice that I requested to another table, left it there for over 10 minutes while she served others. when I asked what happened to my glass of ice, she went back to the table where she left it ten minutes ago and insisted that I take it because nothing was wrong... When I tried to explain to her that this was against health policies, she proceeded to tell me about how many years she has worked in the food industry and bar tending. Their HH runs Mon-Fri from 5-7 and include 5-7 cocktails, beer, and wine that they offer at $2ish off the regular price. We stuck with the cocktails and had their Blue Lagoons (which are essentially electric blue vodka lemonades) for $8ish. They were tasty and after 2 of them, we were definitely ready to party. Next time, I want to try the rum punch for $10 - though I noticed the rum punch was premade (vs being made fresh per order). Unfortunately, there are no food offers on the happy hour. The spot was very empty when we arrived, maybe around 5.30p - there was one other couple enjoying time at the bar. Outside of the 8-10 bar seats, they have some lounge level seating, as well as more standard 4-top tables. At the very front of the area, is a small stage where DJ's and karaoke specialists set up. The food was really good; I had the curry chicken plate for $16ish and my girlfriend had the shrimp rasta pasta for $19ish. The food was very flavorful and came out piping hot from the kitchen. I'd get the curry again, for sure. The environment and vibe was the most enjoyable part of my visit; the hip hop and top40's music gave the place a great energy (but wasn't so loud that you couldn't chat. The bartenders were energetic, lively, and friendly. There seemed to be alot of regular patrons who knew each other and the bartenders - that's a really good sign. The star of the show was karaoke which started around 8 (when the bar was getting much more crowded). The karaoke host was great; she kept the group energized and led some karaoke style games and activities that I hadn't seen before. We ended up stay out way longer than expected because we were having such a nice time. I look forward to my next happy hour at JCK. Pro tip: It looks like they have coordinated, promoted parties twice a month on Fridays. And on the other Fridays, they have the 'standard' karaoke nights. If I could give them a 0 I would the WORST EVER EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD where do I start. I want to try and make this a short review but so much went wrong don't think that I can. I was celebrating a birthday dinner with some friends. When our food came out my best friend realize that what she had ordered (shrimp and grits) was more like onion soup there were onion swimming in the sauce with a cup of grits, another friend ordered jambalaya it came out sauceless with again 1 million onions in it. My boyfriend ordered chicken and waffles he said his chicken taste like onions . My food broil platter came out Luke warm and the mashed potatoes were thick and dry. When we asked to speak to the manager, she came out and was no help. She came to the table with an attitude and really wasn't trying to hear what we had to say. She stated that all sauces they serve had an onion base cream. She then stated well I've already taken the food off the bill. That wasn't what we had called her over to the table for. We wanted to inform her that there were too many onions in the shrimp and grits and my friend just wanted a new one. But she took it upon herself to become rude and impatient and said it oh well I'll just take it off the bill. After trying to explain all the issues we had with the food she stated that she would have to look at the food because I have to show the managers the food before they just got it. within asked to speak to a manager over her because we did not like her attitude and she was not helpful or trying to listen. We were told that she was the only manager there when we saw two other managers but the manager over her refused to come out and speak with us and said we would just have to deal with her and he would not be going against anything she had already told us. As if that was not enough they then sent to security officers over to our table to do what we still were unsure of. they stated that they were sent over to the table to make sure we pay the bill. Intention was never to run out on the bill but just to make the manager aware that. Nowhere on the menu did it state that onions were the base of all sauces that came with their entrées . The security stayed at the table until we left the building which was very embarrassing and it felt like everyone at the restaurant was focusing on us. This was not the way I wanted to celebrate my birthday it was very embarrassing and unprofessional on the management of Jaspers. read more

Dear Jaspers Management, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I received on Friday, October 4, 2024, at your location at 9460 Lottsford Ct., Largo, MD 20774. My server for the evening was named Courtney, and the experience I had with her was unacceptable. Initially, I was seated at a table with two of my friends, and after dining, I closed out my bill of $33.75 and left a $6.00 tip, bringing my total to $39.75. I signed both the merchant and customer copies of the receipt and handed Courtney her copy. Shortly after, I moved to the bar to continue spending time with my friends as space had opened up. I started a new tab at the bar. However, Courtney approached me at the bar and, in a loud and accusatory manner, claimed I had not paid my previous bill. She had the signed merchant copy of the receipt in her hand, yet continued to publicly accuse me of not settling my bill. This situation caused me significant embarrassment in front of other patrons, despite the fact that I provided both my signed customer copy of the receipt and showed her proof of payment through my Navy Federal banking app. Even after all of this, she insisted that she could not see the payment, which I pointed out was an issue on her end, not mine. I refused to give her my card again, as the bill had already been paid. It was only after she brought the manager over that the situation was clarified as a mistake on your establishment's side. While the manager apologized for the confusion, Courtney never offered an apology for her unprofessional behavior or for the public embarrassment she caused me. This experience left me feeling extremely disrespected and frustrated. I expect a higher standard of service, and I do not believe Courtney should remain in a position where customer service is paramount. She should be reminded that it is customers like myself who allow her to have this job in the first place. I request that this issue be addressed appropriately to ensure no other customer has to endure a similar situation. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you regarding the steps you will take to resolve this issue. read more

I'm back with a local fan favorite review Jasper's Restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, with its low lighting creating an intimate and relaxing dining experience. The setup complements the overall vibe, making it an ideal spot for both casual outings and special occasions. I had the Baked Stuffed shrimp The concept of shrimp baked under lump crab imperial is enticing, but the execution is crucial. The shrimp itself was well-cooked, retaining a firm texture without becoming rubbery. However, the crab stuffing, while flavorful, leaned slightly on the heavier side. A bit more balance in seasoning or a lighter touch on the binding ingredients could elevate this dish. ****7 out of 10 **** Asian Salmon Teriyaki: The hand-cut salmon had a great sear and flake, but the teriyaki glaze was slightly too sweet, overpowering the natural richness of the fish. A touch more acidity or a slight reduction in sweetness could have created a better balance. The garlic mashed potatoes were a pleasant addition, but serving it with a lighter grain or a vegetable-forward side might have complemented the dish better. **** 7.3 out of 10 **** Sweet Potato Casserole: This was a standout side. Creamy, slightly sweet, and packed with flavor, it had just the right amount of seasoning without becoming overly sugary. If you're a fan of comfort food, this is a must-try. However, a bit more texture--perhaps a crunchy pecan topping--could take it to the next level. *** 8.7 out of 10 *** Jasper's excels in creating a cozy dining experience with well-prepared seafood dishes. While the flavors were generally strong, a bit more balance in seasoning and texture would enhance the overall execution. The ambiance alone makes this restaurant worth visiting, but a few refinements in the kitchen could take it from good to exceptional. read more

I am writing to share my recent experience at Jaspers on September 24, 2025, in hopes that it brings attention to the treatment of one of your employees. Our server, a young lady named Joy, was incredibly kind and gracious throughout our visit. Despite the clear signs of short staffing, she remained professional and attentive. However, during our meal, it became apparent that she was struggling emotionally. Joy was visibly upset and trying hard to hold back tears. We later observed that she had just been reprimanded by a female manager with straight, salt-and-pepper hair. While I don't know the details of the situation, it was disheartening to see such a dedicated employee in distress, especially when she was doing her best under what appeared to be very difficult circumstances. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect--especially those who show up and work hard even when things are tough. The food was absolutely amazing, and the atmosphere was otherwise enjoyable. However, I hope that management takes this as an opportunity to reflect on how staff are treated, particularly during high-pressure times. A little compassion and support can go a long way in employee morale and guest experience. I sincerely hope Joy was able to finish her shift without further distress, and I commend her for her professionalism. Please do better--for the sake of your team and the integrity of your establishment. read more

Came here for the first time last night with my sisters to celebrate baby sis's birthday. Loved the look of the place as soon as I walked in (very spacious). We had to wait for about 20 minutes but didn't even feel like we waited that much. They had detox water which I've NEVER seen at any restaurant before. Our waiter was very polite & checked up on us frequently making sure if we needed anything. She bought us complimentary warm bread & butter while we were deciding what to order. They didn't have cocktail menus but she did name the most frequently ordered drinks, we decided on the mango madness & it was surprisingly big & delicious. We ordered the crab dip for the appetizer which was AMAZING! It came with tortilla chips & bread. As the main entre one of my sisters & I ordered the salmon with shrimp, green beans/carrots & mashed potatoes. The salmon & shrimp were very good but my sister's green beans looked/tasted very undercooked. The bday girl got the breaded shrimp & chicken tenders that came with fries & coleslaw. She said that the shrimp were ok but the tenders were very good, crispy on the outside & tender/moist on the inside as it should be. Overall the experience was good so I will definitely be back. read more

Horrible experience, Ill never go to this place again the food was cold when it came out I asked for my food to be reheated. It came back out lukewarm. My partner didn't even eat his food after trying everything they returned the whole plate. After speaking with the manager (Donnay) he told me that it was NOTHING he could do.the taste of the food was also disgusting. After seeing I wasn't getting anywhere after talking over a FULL plate of cold and disgusting food we just paid and left. Another manager heavyset black hair maybe Spanish manger gave me the cold shoulder after I tried approaching him about the situation. I guess what he had going on was more important than my situation. Oh when I approached him he was standing in the same spot for at least 20mins but now he had to run ..this place is a joke. I do feel this situation could have been handled differently. It wasn't like we wanted both dinners tooken off my partner didn't want to complain about their disgusting meal they just wanted to pay and leave. I came here on a tuesday night with a really close friend of mine. We made reservations for 7:30 but we then requested to sit in Monica's section because shes an awesome server. Her section was full so we had some drinks at the bar. Ketel one Soda, and hornitos sauza coke. Those were the first drinks to come and they weren't the last. When we were seated about 20 minutes later we started with a chicken basket, and its always so delicious. We were deciding between the filet Mignon, or prime rib. But Monica told us how good the in-bone rutherford 22oz steak was and we both decided to go with that. It's a $40 steak and its definitely worth it if your splurging. I usually get the Caesar salad with anchovies but since I got the big ass steak i decided to skip the greens. I did get a side of brussel sprouts which is always awesome. By the time we finished our steaks we had already had 3 rounds of drinks and had no room saved for dessert. I really wanted to get dessert, next time I come by I'll start with dessert so I don't miss out on it! read more

The wings at Jaspers are absolutely bomb - easily the best thing on the menu. Everything else is just okay, nothing special. The drinks are good and strong, which is definitely a plus. It's a great spot to watch the game with a solid atmosphere for sports fans. However, I have to mention safety concerns - someone I know was shot right outside this place, which makes me hesitant about the area, especially late at night. If you go, come for the wings and drinks during the day for games. Just be aware of your surroundings when you leave. read more

My family and I ate there last night and everything was terrible from the food to the service. We ordered drinks and they were terrible & watered down. We noticed the drinks did not come from the bar but from the back in the kitchen, which we thought was very strange. Then we also noticed that allot of other people were sending their drinks back as well. They skimmed on the food. what I thought would be an entrée, looked more like a side salad. As the only one at the table with 20/20 vision, I can honestly say they took the time to explain the menu, answer questions about the food and drinks, announce themselves when they approached the table, and help everyone through the payment process. Those extra touches meant a lot and made everyone feel comfortable. I ordered the wings and a drink, and my mom had wings, a salad, and a drink. Everything was fresh, the wings were cooked well, the drinks were good, and the portions were generous for the price. The restaurant itself has a cozy, laid-back neighborhood feel. It isn't a fancy place, but it's clean, comfortable, and somewhere I'd happily come back to. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because of the service at the end of our meal. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, but apparently his shift ended as soon as he took our orders. The manager and bartender stepped in and did the best they could, but with a large group that was mostly visually impaired, it made things a little more confusing than they needed to be, especially when it came time to sort out everyone's food and separate checks. No one was rude, and they worked hard to make it right, but I think management could have handled that transition a little better. Overall, I had a great experience. The food was good, the prices were reasonable, and I really appreciated how welcoming the staff was to our group. I'd definitely come back, and I'd recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area.

A couple of things to know before you go: it gets loud and crowded, and service can slow down a bit during busy stretches, so pack a little patience. Also, their brand selection depends on availability, so it's worth calling ahead if you're hoping for something specific. Food is usually solid, and overall it's a fun, lively spot. Recommend it if you're in the mood for good seafood and a laid-back atmosphere.

We ordered a H20 (Long Island with sprite instead of coke), the half Maryland crab soup and half crab of crab soup, affectionately called the bipartisan soup, wings and mozzarella sticks. The soup was delicious. While the wings and mozzarella sticks were cooked well, they had an old oil taste to them. The drink was good but not as strong as we expected. Overall, Lamberts is a good place to grab a drink and a quick bite. Not sure if we will return though.

Events and this place don't go together…read more Having never been here and wanting to try, we saw the hours and knew if we came to an event, we'd be able to grab dinner before. For a foodie this is perfect! Oooh were we wrong. Plans failed! This restaurant is part of Oak Creek golf course in a residential area, super convenient if you're a resident! Now, for guest, parking is ample if there is no event going on. The venue is pretty and well kept. Restrooms very tidy. The staff are so sweet but the logic behind management is off. You'd think if an event was happening you'd plan for folks to come early to eat dinner. A perfect opportunity that was missed by the choice to close early only to reopen. Odd. Having an event here was pretty unorganized. They had a coffee table that I don't believe was part of the venue possibly a vendor. Most definitely would come try to dine in if I was back in the area. Let's get into it! Firecracker Shrimp - OMG good! Wings - Delicious Nachos - Delicious Coffee - Just okay.

That said, I've been many times and I cannot believe I've never dropped a review. The Grove is located inside of the Oak Creek Golf Club House. The Grove routinely have events like this past Thursday, when one of my favorite local bands performed "Let It Flow Band". To the rear is enough room for a decent sized crowd, not too big and not too small. I'd say about 150 people with about 20 prepaid tables, and the rest of the folks brought their folding chairs. The restaurant was open for business, serving from a limited menu. I will say, the honey old bay wings, chicken nachos and dynamite shrimp were freaking delicious. They even had a nice coffee station set up which came in handy once sunset hit and it got a little chilly out. Checking in was clunky to say the least, luckily we were one of the first ones in because their system was WHACK!! lol. Other than that, it was a great experience and I look forward to returning the next time Let It Flow is there to perform!!

I sat at the bar, and instantly enjoyed the friendly but respectful banter with the other patrons. With that being said, you can also retreat into your own comfort zone and enjoy your meal in peace. I ordered the salmon, rice and broccoli.... And this meal was perfectly prepared on every level. The salmon, was meaty and seasoned, while the rice was loaded with flavor ( could have used another scoop ) and my favorite vegetable ( broccoli) had the perfect texture to complement the entire dish. While enjoy my evening meal, and very satisfying drink... I was also able to enjoy the first Kickoff to the NFL season !!! 100% assured that I will return again for another amazing meal ( most likely on game day !!! ) If you haven't yet... you have to try it out soon !!!

Cool bar vibe & okay eats!…read more I came here on a Saturday night to celebrate a good friend's birthday. We were a large party of 12 and were an accommodated well. Our server was very attentive and kept checking in on us to make sure that everyone was OK and got their food on time. The restaurant is small, but what makes up for it is a cool vibe and good food. A few highlights that stood out for me was the lamb chops, crab fried rice, skillet cornbread and lobster egg rolls..... actually the steak n' cheese eggrolls were good too. As for items that did not hit the mark, I hate to say it was items that were considered simple to knock out the park such as the wings and a seared salmon. Both lacked flavor and the wings were bland....both the plain fried wings and those that were lathered in sauce. It didn't matter, both were a thumbs down. Not to mention, the jerk wings that we ordered for the table.... Was marinated in season well .... But a little on a dry side. Also, I ordered a crabcake platter and it came with two small crabcakes that personally was just okay..... nothing remarkable or out of the ordinary to write about here. I will say that they both were all filled with jumbo lump crab meat --no filler! For me, the lively atmosphere, vibe and good ++strong drinks helped make up for it. In all, great service, good food and decent plates....with good music and super clean restrooms....an added plus! Needless to say, despite missing the mark on a couple of the dishes, we left having a great time and enjoying ourselves. I heard that Marley's has a really good Sunday brunch. Perhaps I'll come back and give them another try because some of the plates were actually really good and worth the price point.

The atmosphere is extremely vibrant and filled with positive energy ( I came in for a takeout order and ended up staying for over two hours... ) I had the honey hot sauce Salmon bites... and I would call them mini bites of perfection ( absolutely delicious ) seasoned just right and the HH serving definitely outshines its $8 tab... I also ordered the 1/2 chicken with seafood fried rice and cabbage ( that's for dinner.. but I couldn't wait to put the spot light on their super live HH ! ) The customer service is cool ( they can seem a little overwhelmed at times ) shoutout to Tae the bartender for doing an amazing job at keeping everyone happy and grooving ( Hennessy side-car was no less than an 8 1/2 ) And I want to give BIG props to the manager ( Kelvin I believe his name is ) he went above and beyond to ensure that every soul in his restaurant was pleased and took care of on a high level from beginning to end... definitely should be up for restaurant manager of the year !!! FYI: Now, my biggest gripe ( and what had me close to putting 3-stars... but the Vibe kept it at 4-stars ) was the fact that I ordered a dozen of raw oysters and they served them on a plate ( not on ice ) the oysters were warm, which made them stick to the shell entirely too much. Kelvin, one word of advice... no high end or reputable establishment ever serves their oysters on a ice less plate ( NEVER ) I know you'll correct that in the very near future... Miss Toya's is too on point not to invest into official oyster treys !!! Definitely going back real soon for HH again...

I was super excited to try Miss Toya's after seeing it all over TikTok, but unfortunately, the meal…read morewas pretty mid and lacked proper balance and seasoning across the board. The Breakdown: Fried Green Tomatoes: Overcomplicated and heavy. The crab meat on top came in huge chunks...almost like chicken nuggets...and sat in a very thick cream sauce over corn. It was underseasoned, and the combination of textures and flavors just didn't come together for me. Fried Pork Chops: I'm so glad I got the gravy on the side because it was extremely salty. I had to use hot sauce to give the pork chops some actual flavor. Sides (Greens & Fried Rice): Very average. Cornbread: If you like cornbread that tastes like actual dessert, you might enjoy this. But for me, it was super-duper sweet...put caramel on it and it could pass for a cake. Maybe it was just an off day for the kitchen or I ordered the wrong items, but for all the hype, it fell flat Maybe I'm just a tough critic because Chicago has me spoiled with great food! Service was friendly. The restaurant was an older facility with decor saying we're trying to be modern. I was a little let down spending almost $100 for average.
