The wife & I come to Jasper's when we're in town, we always have a good time but it's just 2 of us at them times. But last night we're all in town for the Cowboys vs Commanders Game/ friends Birthday dinner. We couldn't make reservations for a party of 12, they don't do reservations. So we all had to just show up. Let me set the scene for you (boom) we get to Jasper's at 7:30pm 11 of us and check in. Sets scene: (Birthday Crew consist of; School Teachers, Pharmacist, Human Resource Manger, a Soldier, a Paralegal & Manufacturing Spvr, ICU Nurse, Paralegal, let alone Birthday Girl is a DELTA & beloved school counselor. 35 & over crew) 1 of the friends came a little earlier to check in, so we had 2 waiting to be called for seating orders. Off top the the hostess/ or people up front try to deter us from waiting, talking about it's gonna be a long wait. We like it's cool we go to bar & get some drinks since the waiting area was full already. While we at bar we see a whole area their not using at all (take note of that) so we get drinks & chill then we see 1 big party go in for seating, that cleared the waiting area out. We go back to sit down & chill. So we noticed that big party was seated in the open area we were talking about earlier plus it was more room over there. The birthday girl go check on our seating after about hour 15 minutes later & 1 of the hostess just walked away from her while she was talking to her. (Take note of that) We almost went to Outback Steakhouse due to that but "Birthday Girl" wanted to stay. So around 9:30 they come to us and tell us they have to split the party of 12 up in 6 & 6. We agreed so we could get in we're all starving. Didn't like it but we agreed thinking we would be seated near each other. When we get seated they tell us 1 group will be here & the other group will be on other side of restaurant, that didn't fly. As we're sitting the Birthday Girl ask for the manager, so the manager came & the disrespectful hostess stayed for the conversation. That's when the Birthday Girl a.k.a. Delta read that hostess in front of the manager. Told him about them trying to split our party of 12 up, the long wait & the hostess walking away from her while she was inquiring about our table. All this was new to him, he ended up seating us in the same area I said earlier that was empty & just right for a big party of patrons to sit. 9:45pm we ordering Appetizers, Drinks & Entree's. Waiter seemed good look like as we ordered he was compartmentalizing the orders, he was not. After eating we're waiting for checks, he came back around and asked who had what. Cool, getting it in order, then said he gotta get with manager to break orders down. 30 mins later he come back with receipts they're correct but dang 30 minutes! All in all don't do "big parties " there, big restaurant but no ready for big parties. There's more ppl working the door than serving food. You don't need 5 ppl at front door. All that restaurant there use it all. They updated the Men's bathroom. Great job it was needed. We don't feel enough was done about rude worker or the extreme wait time. They could of at least brought a birthday slice out for the birthday girl for that long wait. Just show empathy. When it's needed. Great food, great drinks & good music. We couldn't really enjoy the vibe of the music this time due to the long waiting, it really changed our mood. We suppose to went to DC to a Hookah lounge after dinner, but after leaving dinner it was 11:45pm, we spent over 4hrs there. Some of us went back to the hotel & some kept the party going. Came here for happy hour got crab dip which was amazing. Got bread for the table w/butter was cold and dry. Friend got tiger wings that she enjoyed. I got the bacon cheese burger that i couldn't finish because it was nasty and had my stomach hurting didn't even it half and the waitress didn't take it off. The Service: Immediate curbside service and the gentleman was pleasant. The food: Tiger shrimp had great flavor but halfway through chewing there was something my nephew couldn't chew so he pulled it out - yeah, they aren't deveined. EW!!! I can't tell you how gross that is nor to see it being pulled from someone's mouth?!?! PASS Crab dip was bland AF but nothing u can't doctor up in your kitchen. Stuffed Shrimp had so much egg you could literally see it. Like omelets on top of shrimp. He is allergic to egg by the way so it would have been great to know that ahead of time. Stopped in for lunch in between doctors' appointments. The lobster bisque/ crab cake lunch special is where it's at. They don't skimp on the lobster and the crabcake was delicious. My first time at Jasper's was not so good. First we were not greeted at the hostess stand. We stood there and no one spoke or welcomed up. They talked amongst themselves and then someone said follow me. Then it took our waiter a while to come Back to take our order. Mind you it was not super busy. We placed our order between 6:00-6:15. We did not get our food until after 7:00pm. I order wings and salad for me and grill cheese and fries for my daughter. The table next to us arrived after us, received their food and finished before we received our food. I don't know what the mixed up was or what happened but by the time I received our food I had lost my appetite. No explanation! I immediately asked for to go boxes because we had to get home. We didn't received the check until about 20 minutes after. My daughter didn't received her dessert until after 7:30pm. I can't even rate the food because I had to reheat it when I got home. I came to this restaurant with my son for his 22nd birthday to my surprise they don't seem to respect people in their orders so I ordered the Henny sidecar when it came it was in a very small cup that was not like the lady that had one across from me I asked if they could replace it and instead the manager came with an attitude his name was Donnel (light skin bald head) and told me that he would not change it I was really upset and decided to cancel the whole order and left I just want to let you all know that if you come across this manager he is not very professional and he should not be doing that job. Since we moved here 3 years ago, this has been our favorite neighborhood restaurant and we've frequented it at least twice a month. They've managed takeout well during Covid, but the indoor dining post reopening is a disaster. The last couple of times we went we were quoted a wait time of over 2 hrs. Ridiculous. Get on Opentable, accept reservations and look out for your loyal customers. Opentable will charge the customer if they don't show. Use the waitlist here on Yelp. I shows where the customer is in line. I Ubered and am currently standing in heels waiting for a two hour table. Smh. 5 stars back when they figure this wait time situation out *Update* Now sitting in the car with my husband waiting. Called to see where we were and was told we have to come in to check. Really? First time here but definitely not the last! My husband dined here about 2 hours ago. After a 15 minute wait we were seated. The crowd was lively, everyone enjoying themselves. We looked over our menus while watching for our waitperson. After 15 minutes of no one coming to our table my husband asked a passing waitperson to find ours. Dwayne said he'd be glad to help us . We ordered the Latino egg rolls, i ordered the blackened salmon and grits and my husband ordered the broiled seafood platter. Dwayne amazingly took our order as our drink order without writing anything down. I order Tito's with a splash of cranberry and my husband ordered an old fashioned. Dwayne promptly brought fresh rolls to our table and placed our plates and utensils before us instead of just putting them on the table and moving on. Our drinks were on point Strong and good! Our appetizers arrived next and our entrees. The blackened salmon and grits were absolutely delicious!!! My husband really enjoyed his seafood platter. You definitely get your money's worth at Jasper's. I couldn't finish meal , Dwayne noticed it as he passed and gave me a to go container. His service and attention to detail was on point! We've ordered honey bbq wings and Southwest egg rolls for carryout from Jasper's before a couple of months ago. Wings were ok but I wasn't oohing and ahhing over it. Egg rolls were horrible. My boyfriend was in the mood for some good restaurant food last so Jasper's came to mind for him. I wasn't too sure because I wasn't really impressed. Also, I started keto since we last ordered so I figured my options would be very limited. We went last night and the lot was pretty packed. I was surprised for a Monday night. We sat at the bar. I realized they do a late night happy hour so I saw why so many people were there. Service started out slow. Our server took a little while to get to our table but it was ok because we were still being indecisive about our appetizer. We eventually started with traditional buffalo wings. They were sooo good!! The buffalo sauce was good and spicy and they serve this peppery ranch dressing with it. I was impressed. I think someone heard my keto prayers because they serve cauliflower mash!! I was shocked when I saw it came with the Short Smoked Salmon. My God!! Soooo good! Not everyone knows how to give cauliflower some flavor but they did with perfection! I wanted to save for leftovers but I couldn't stop and ate it all. Loved it! There is a large parking lot on the sides of the restaurant. We initially wanted to dine here for brunch but since it was a Sunday afternoon there was a long wait for a table. When I checked in the hostess told me that there would be a 40 minute wait and at that time they would be serving dinner. While waiting in the large waiting area we heard the hostess calling out a name that did not sound like mine multiple times. When she called for last call for that particular name I went to the desk and she advised us that she had been calling my name. We all agreed that we heard her another name and not mine. There is a large dining area and bar inside of the restaurant. The business was decorated with Christmas decor throughout the restaurant. Our waitress was not too enthusiastic and she accidentally spilled a portion of the fries that she brought to our table. We immediately brought out a new order of fries. I asked her if she was ok and she said that she didn't get much sleep last night because she worked late. She did not check on us after she brought our food until we called her over. I ordered the Spicy shrimp and chicken pasta with broccoli, mushrooms and cheese. It was really flavorful and had just enough kick to it. The portion was large and was served with toasted bread. I was able to take a to-go back home with me. I asked if they do anything for birthdays and we were given three birthday muffins. Just to update-- My fiancé wanted to give Jasper's another go. I was hesitant given our last trip but it was a random Thursday mid day so I figured, what's the harm? We came in and out our name on the list and waited about 10mins. Our server Lauren, who is absolutely fantastic and very lovely, came over quickly and introduced herself. She was pleasant and got our orders brought out just they way we asked. The food was perfect! The sweet potato casserole (although super sweet) is the bomb. The hush puppies are really good to. Drinks are always worth it since they use alcohol -I say that because a lot of restaurants use a premixed drink mix that has very minimal alcohol in it but still charge an a ridiculous price. This place is a wonderful place in PG county and reminds me of what Chocolate City use to be! I've been here three times in the past two months. Great casual place for drinks, food, people watching (attractive men and women), and catching a game on the screen. Wednesday night here includes happy hour all night at the bar area and the high top tables! Not sure how this place has a 4.1. The customer service I received last night at the Largo location was the worst I have ever experienced in my life. After putting our name on the list and were told the wait was 15 min. We waited 45 min. When we asked when we would be seated they got an attitude and stated the next seating would be ours. Well, that didn't happen. Several people continued to be seated before us. The manager was the worst. He just pretty much stood their well his staff popped off at the mouth at me. I hadn't been to Jasper's in 3+ years and decided to go today for lunch. The food and service was top notch! I was seated immediately...the benefit of coming early. My server was amazing, friendly and extremely personable! She made great recommendations and I went right along with her suggestion. I ordered the crab eggrolls and was ready to run laps around that place. They are a must have! I also ordered the bacon cheeseburger and basically took it to go as those eggrolls hit the spot! I ordered the chicken and shrimp pasta and my husband opted for the salmon and grits. We were highly disappointed and this was my first time ordering food there.
