We visited from out of state and wanted to visit Maryland. This is where we ended up. My husband and daughter will tell you that they had to walk up hill both ways, but they would be lying. Our waitress (I wish I remembered her name), was so awesome, and when my daughter loved the chicken and waffles, our waitress even figured out a way to order us an extra side of waffles! OMG. So this was a pretty interesting place. Now the first thing that happened was that I was told that I could sit at the bar if I didn't want to wait the 20 minutes it was going to take to get a table. They probably could have added that the bar was busy. It took me two seconds to discover that the bar was not my best option. No big deal I just would put my name on the wait list. I went to sit down in the waiting area only to find that the police were using the waiting area as a holding area for an undesirable while they waited for him to be transported. That proved fairly amusing after I was invited to sit down by the very nice police officer. Unfortunately my presence my his life slightly more difficult. The undesirable was apparently quite intrigued with me and made several attempts to attract my attention. The guy was quite harmless just drunk and outspoken. The police officer was very polite and kept redirecting his attention away from me. This place sends you a text when your table is ready, but Beware I had no signal and so I couldn't get a text, a slight flaw in thief system. Once I got to my table, I waited and waited and waited some more. I wax thrilled when I saw a group of people get seated on the next table over. After 30 minutes a waiter showed up and apologized that he hadn't noticed me. So I immediately placed my order. A White Sangria, a bowl of their famous lobster bisque and fish tacos. The waiter returned shortly explaining that he had placed my drink order but didn't know when it would be ready. He reconfirmed my food order and asked if I wanted water. He came back with the water and asked if I would like bread. Another 20 minutes later he showed up again and asked if everything was Ok. No, I haven't received anything yet. He then asked again if I wanted bread. I said I would love my bread and the bisque, as I was starving. 10 minutes later he showed up with bread. He then came right back to tell me that my order was coming soon because it was next on the monitor. Again I waited. I watched Lobster bisque get delivered to another table that ordered food long after me, and I continued to wait. Even the ladies on the other table got their food. Then I finally got the soup and the tacos all at once. I devoured it. The bisque and the tacos were excellent, but then again I was starving. The waiter showed back up and apologized, so I asked for my bill and explained that I never received the sangria. The waiter appeared completely shocked and then explained that this was his first server job. The experience was terrible, apart from the very amusing drunk in the waiting area. Crab cake sandwich, cole slaw, and asparagus (I'm tired of fries) On a 10-scale, I'mma go with a stronngg 8. The crab cake was moist and I didn't detect any filler. I probably should have eaten it without the fixings. The aoli didn't do anything for me. Kinda tasted like buffalo sauce honestly. I took one but of the cole slaw and that was enough. It lacked flavor. The asparagus was rocking, though! Perfectly steamed with butter and garlic. I'd order this meal again but I'd remove the fixings and cole slaw. I almost forgot! I've heard of Jasper's for years, but this is my first time ever trying it. My 3 friends and I came on what appeared to be a pretty popular time (Sunday afternoon). We were told there was an hour wait, and they do not except reservations. We decided to stick around and wait, and thankfully a table was ready in 25 mins. My entree & dessert was very tasty. The appetizer (spinach dip) was just OK. The waiter was very nice and it did not take long for our food to arrive. This place could be a chill, "better than t.g.i. friday's" spot but keep your food options simple. The pasta is an entree that seems to hit the spot though. I personally like the lettuce wraps. Don't go to Jaspers looking for a grand time, it's a chill spot/bar.. Somewhere to grab a drink and a small bite on a boring night where you just want to get out of the house. This place gets 3 starts simply because I always get this same waitress, light skinned woman, a little heavy with freckles and she is SO nasty. She ruins my experience every time, the very few times that I've been there. I'm an easy customer, and very polite so I don't understand her treatment.. My faves: - ribeye (blackened and with butter) - green beans - sweet potato casserole - catfish tacos - calamari - burgers (try their burgers!) Decided to give jaspers another try with a close friend of mine. We stopped by for drinks and some food! The drinks were strong! I ordered the crab dip to start which came with chips and bread. The crab dip was delicious. The bread was a bit too soft for the dip, it would have been better if the bread was a bit on the crunchy side. For my entree, i ordered the fried chicken with Mac and cheese and fries. The chicken and fries were pretty good but the Mac and cheese was off! I'm not sure, but it was very bland, it tasted like macaroni and flour. I definitely will not be ordering that again. My friend who is very picky when it comes to food enjoyed her Asian salmon teriyaki. Overall, food is okay, the drinks are good and the customer service is good as well! read more

So as far as the service goes, it was great no complaints there. No complaints overall with the food either, but it was just mediocre in my opinion. The portion sizes were great, but the actual taste of the food was not praiseworthy. I tried the lobster bisque, salmon and grits, crab dip appetizer and a side of sweet potato casserole. I ate here twice in about 2 months.. I thought I just got lucky the first time-- my meal was really good. But the 2nd time; the steak and shrimp with peppers, onions, and black beans and rice was Excellent! Steak cooked medium to my request, so tender and flavorful that I did'nt need steak sauce. The peppers were fresh and there were lots of shrimp. Both times I have eaten at the bar and have not been disappointed with the drinks or the food. The crowd is HH mid 30's to 40's, older and mature. It's probably one of the best places to eat in this location, because there aren't a lot of restaurant options on this side of town. read more

I had never been to Jasper's before but I had heard good things about it. My friend suggested we go, and thus, we went. Upon entering, we could barely get the door open before an employee tripped over himself to hold the door for us. As soon as we got to the front, the host made a comment about our 'gorgeous' appearance and asked where we wanted to sit, saying we could 'walk around and take our pick'. Lol, well thanks. We scanned the area, chose a spot, and told him where we wanted to sit. It was at that moment I noticed the 'dress code' regulating what men and women could wear. That was interesting. We were seated quickly and immediately were greeted by a young man who had A LOT of tables to wait on, yet he was extremely attentive to our needs! He probably told us we were beautiful like four or five times lol, and of course he gave us some extra freebies just because he liked the way we looked lol. The food was really good...I savored every last little bit. My friend and I both got speciality burgers, and the fries were amaze! I swear the bill was wayyyy less than it was supposed to be!;-) We tipped our server well, though he requested our numbers instead lol. There's a heavy police presence in and around this building to prevent rift-raft from happening. I really like Jasper's! I came here with a friend for a late bite and I had a good time. The hostess greeted us immediately and we were promptly seated. Our server, Cameron was a very polite young man and when we decided to get their super combo, he suggested the spicy tiger sauce for the wings. OMG those wings were good! As a matter of fact, the super combo was super delicious. The atmosphere was nice and chill--it has a more mature crowd, which is what I like. The bathroom was clean too. They don't allow any riff raff and there's clear police presence. Also, this place is pretty large, plenty of seating at the bar and throughout the restaurant. After we paid the bill, our server said God Bless--didn't expect that and thought it was nice but I can see it being uncomfortable if you don't believe in God. Anyway, I definitely want to go back and try some other dishes and drinks from their menu. read more

I went with a group of friends, I believe there was six of us total, around 3 pm, so the midday lunch rush had subsided by the time we were seated. I ordered the broiled seafood platter. The food was plentiful, but bland. I should have ordered a burger or something a little less fancy. Jasper's is not a seafood restaurant, and therefore, my expectations for their seafood should have been a bit lower than they were. One thing that was REALLY good was their strawberry lemonade. Where do I even start with this review. The 2.5hrs I spent at Jasper's was quite eventful. The 1st thing I experienced was trying to find the place. Easy to see? Yes but all the sign said was "sp", why would they not have that fixed?! We drove around twice just to make sure it was Jasper's. Anyhow, as soon as I entered security asked for my ID, I thought it was an upscale restaurant just like the Jaspers in Dallas but apparently it presents itself as a bar. I proceeded to find a seat at the bar but the whole place was PACKED. Almost felt like a club for a minute. I ended up having to sit in the waiting area for about 15 mins for a small table. While waiting, I watched a server have an intense encounter with a customer, it was a mess & very unprofessional. The security, police & manager if he/she was even there just stood there watching like everyone else. Once seated, I people watched for about 15 mins waiting for the server. What stood out to me is that no one seemed to be able to finish or even drink their drinks, which just really tickled me. Would you rather pay for alcohol or watered down drinks? If the drinks are "too strong" then maybe you shouldn't be drinking. 1st I ordered the Bone Crusher w/light ice. Looking at my glass compared to other photos, I got less because I didn't want a watered down drink, how ironic. It had a nice little kick but wasn't as strong as expected just left me thirsty. After asking 3 times, Craig finally brought me a water. He then suggested the Cajun Jambalaya out of the 3 listed. Let me tell you, I should've sent it back. The rice wasn't even cooked all the way, the veggies were still crunchy (should be sautéed), the bread was HARD...the meal was simply not good. Should've got the tiger wings my Lyft driver suggested. Luckily, I was able to wait another 15 mins for my mega LIT w/Cranberry juice to be made & sipped on that while I forced myself to eat. Was the LIT strong? Yes, like it's suppose to be! I should've just ordered 2 of those & would've been fine. Ultimately, will I come back? Yes, but ONLY for drinks. You can travel & immerse yourself enough in various kitchens/cuisines to know how certain entrees should taste & Jaspers just needs some help IMO. read more

I've lived and driven by Jasper's numerous times. It felt like another theme family restaurant, that wasn't corporatized. For my birthday dinner, we decided to give it a try. We read the reviews, and knew the clientele well. In pre-COVID days, it was a raucous place with a varied level of service and safety. But, we ordered take out and were very satisfied. I had the full rack of ribs entrée, with mac-n-cheese, and Spinach Artichoke dip appetizer. The Ribs were great, a little charred, which was fine with me. But, the meat and sauce were tasty and tender-sweet. The mac-n-cheese was nothing to yell about. But, also it wasn't terrible. The Spinach Artichoke dip was good and served with tortilla restaurant chips, along with nice, soft table bread. She had the stuffed crab explosion, and crab dip appetizer. I loved it all. This is the BEST place that I have been to for brunch in PG County. My family and I go here often. We went for Father's Day - it was packed. The wait was 45-60 minutes. There were several seats in the bar area so we opted for that area. The bar area was wonderful - the bartender was very attentive and nice. Did I mention how packed it was? This is the first time that I had to wait in line for a waffle! They have an omelet bar, a fajita bar, breakfast meats, a carving station with usually 2 meats, fried chicken, fried fish, mac & cheese, home fries, and tons of other things - including a great dessert spread. I wanted a "peach" tea that wasn't on the menu. The bartender (our server) made one up for me - it was delicious! The atmosphere is always nice. Folks are always friendly. The restaurant tends to get crowded around noonish - this is no doubt around the time that many early morning church goers are done with services. I love this place! read more

Stopped in for lunch in between doctors' appointments. The lobster bisque/ crab cake lunch special is where it's at. They don't skimp on the lobster and the crabcake was delicious. Also ordered fish tacos to go. The pickled cabbage they put on top was sooo good. Sat at the bar. Excellent fishing hole for a shark like me. My previous review was in reference to a rude server. I am now not satisfied with the customer service provided by the managers, namely Miquel. I was in Jaspers on 5/5/22 and called back to the restaurant on 5/6/22 and was promised a resolution within 1 day. It's now 5/13/22, 7 days later and I STILL haven't heard from manager Miquel. The food was good, but not good enough for this kind of mistreatment. I have a PodCast, His Mama, Her Son, on Spotify, Google, and Anchor and we will definitely be putting Jasper's on blast! One of the best restaurants in Maryland ! Try the tiger wings and the crab cake egg rolls and the tiger shrimp , then get you a crab stuffed salmon. Food is a missile every time and the drinks hit like Sean Taylor in his prime. If they tell you a hour wait it won't really be an hour don't be deterred !
