I'm not a real fan of Jasper's not because the food is bad but because of the service, UGH! Upon entering the hostess did not greet my friend and I...we had to ask what was the wait time much to the hostesses chagrin. She informed us that it was a 20-30 min wait or we could find seating in the bar area. Found seating in the bar area but it was off limits as the booths are only for hostess seating. We returned to the waiting area to wait for seating as there was no open bar seating. We were finally seated and our waiter came to take our order but he was not very attentive and when saying his name it was like he was whispering it. The food we got was hot and good but like I said the food is decent but you gotta play Russian Roulette with the service. My favorite meal here in is the chicken fingers and fries. I would rather drive to their sister restaurant in Fredrick, Madrones for the experience that I expect when I go out to eat and plus the menu is very different (fried oysters, stuffed fish, etc) read more

Seen this restaurant on Tik Tok. This restaurant is serving curbside, dine in or takeout. ALL employees and ALL patrons are wearing face masks while in the building unless seated in a booth. Face masks ARE required. We are seated immediately. Very spacious restaurant. The bar is in the middle of the restaurant. This is a party of 4. Appetizers were Cinco Latin egg rolls cut in halves; Bone in chicken wings, flavors half Old Bay & half Spicy tiger. 1 cousin had Jamaican steak, sauteed green & red peppers and onions with side of rice. The other cousin had Fried seafood platter ( 1 crab cake, 1 fish, fries, shrimp. My Mom had the Louisiana shrimp & grits AND cheeseburger and fries. We all choose soft drinks, water, coffee no alcohol. All food came out together however they forgot the egg rolls. The service Darius forgot to put the order in. Strike 1. I had the Appetizers wings as my meal. Amazing!!! The wings were hot and fresh. I never had neither Old Bay or Spicy tiger wings. Both were perfect. Will definitely get those again. Everyone agreed they would order those wings on the next visit. Jamaican steak was too spicy for cousin. The seafood platter was excellent. That was actually crab meat, no filler. My mom had the Louisiana shrimp. It came with Sausage, corn . She choose to omit the items listed. Only shrimp & grits. The grits were funny looking and tasting. It look just like cornmeal. Taste, did not like at all. Sent back to kitchen. Ordered a cheeseburger. While we were eating she is waiting for her burger. Burger came out and it is not completely done. Pink in the middle. Sent back to kitchen. So she basically ate French fries. Strike 2. Checks came informed waiter to not charge for the 2 meals not to satisfaction. Paid individually. I paid for my meal and bottled water. Gave card to pay, went to restroom. Came back to discovered I was overcharged almost $14 extra. I immediately asked for manager. By now I'm totally pissed off, messed up food, and now I'm having a back & forth conversation about the overcharges. He insisted my bill was correct. However, before I left the table I took a picture of the check the waiter gave me with $29 for the wing.and $3 something for the bottled water. NOT the $44 they are attempting to collect as payment. About 10 minutes later he showed me a cancel transaction of $43 and new purchase of $31. Strike 3. Beautiful place, amazing food minus the undercooked burger and uneaten grits AND the overcharges. This WOULD HAVE BEEN 5 star rating but I can not ignore these major mishaps. read more

I was in the Largo area last night and had a craving for something seafood based for take out, so I asked my friend where I should eat and she recommended Jasper's. It was busy on a Friday night In terms of the amount of people at the restaurant but it only took 15 minutes for my food to be cooked. I had the stuffed shrimp with mashed potatoes and string beans. The shrimp was different in terms of the coating that was used but it was pretty good. I gave it 4 stars only because I would've loved more crab meat in my shrimp. read more

So this was a pretty interesting place. Now the first thing that happened was that I was told that I could sit at the bar if I didn't want to wait the 20 minutes it was going to take to get a table. They probably could have added that the bar was busy. It took me two seconds to discover that the bar was not my best option. No big deal I just would put my name on the wait list. I went to sit down in the waiting area only to find that the police were using the waiting area as a holding area for an undesirable while they waited for him to be transported. That proved fairly amusing after I was invited to sit down by the very nice police officer. Unfortunately my presence my his life slightly more difficult. The undesirable was apparently quite intrigued with me and made several attempts to attract my attention. The guy was quite harmless just drunk and outspoken. The police officer was very polite and kept redirecting his attention away from me. This place sends you a text when your table is ready, but Beware I had no signal and so I couldn't get a text, a slight flaw in thief system. Once I got to my table, I waited and waited and waited some more. I wax thrilled when I saw a group of people get seated on the next table over. After 30 minutes a waiter showed up and apologized that he hadn't noticed me. So I immediately placed my order. A White Sangria, a bowl of their famous lobster bisque and fish tacos. The waiter returned shortly explaining that he had placed my drink order but didn't know when it would be ready. He reconfirmed my food order and asked if I wanted water. He came back with the water and asked if I would like bread. Another 20 minutes later he showed up again and asked if everything was Ok. No, I haven't received anything yet. He then asked again if I wanted bread. I said I would love my bread and the bisque, as I was starving. 10 minutes later he showed up with bread. He then came right back to tell me that my order was coming soon because it was next on the monitor. Again I waited. I watched Lobster bisque get delivered to another table that ordered food long after me, and I continued to wait. Even the ladies on the other table got their food. Then I finally got the soup and the tacos all at once. I devoured it. The bisque and the tacos were excellent, but then again I was starving. The waiter showed back up and apologized, so I asked for my bill and explained that I never received the sangria. The waiter appeared completely shocked and then explained that this was his first server job. The experience was terrible, apart from the very amusing drunk in the waiting area. It's such a shame because the food was excellent. read more

Crab cake sandwich, cole slaw, and asparagus (I'm tired of fries) On a 10-scale, I'mma go with a stronngg 8. The crab cake was moist and I didn't detect any filler. I probably should have eaten it without the fixings. The aoli didn't do anything for me. Kinda tasted like buffalo sauce honestly. I took one but of the cole slaw and that was enough. It lacked flavor. The asparagus was rocking, though! Perfectly steamed with butter and garlic. I'd order this meal again but I'd remove the fixings and cole slaw. I almost forgot! I had Tiger wings for an app. Delicious! Honey wings with a spicy bite. I could eat these by the pound!!! UPDATE: I SERIOUSLY DOUBT I WILL E V E R RETURN TO THIS LOCATION!!! APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES AFTER I POSTED MY REVIEW, MY AUTO WAS VANDALIZED!!! HOW IS THIS JASPER'S FAULT YOU ASK? Great food, I don't recommend if you want a quiet dinner. This is a place for food and friends.

I've heard of Jasper's for years, but this is my first time ever trying it. My 3 friends and I came on what appeared to be a pretty popular time (Sunday afternoon). We were told there was an hour wait, and they do not except reservations. We decided to stick around and wait, and thankfully a table was ready in 25 mins. My entree & dessert was very tasty. The appetizer (spinach dip) was just OK. The waiter was very nice and it did not take long for our food to arrive. It seemed a little dark and in need of a facelift, but otherwise I would recommend trying it. read more

We visited from out of state and wanted to visit Maryland. This is where we ended up. My husband and daughter will tell you that they had to walk up hill both ways, but they would be lying. Our waitress (I wish I remembered her name), was so awesome, and when my daughter loved the chicken and waffles, our waitress even figured out a way to order us an extra side of waffles! OMG. So what we needed! read more

This place could be a chill, "better than t.g.i. friday's" spot but keep your food options simple. The pasta is an entree that seems to hit the spot though. I personally like the lettuce wraps. Don't go to Jaspers looking for a grand time, it's a chill spot/bar.. Somewhere to grab a drink and a small bite on a boring night where you just want to get out of the house. This place gets 3 starts simply because I always get this same waitress, light skinned woman, a little heavy with freckles and she is SO nasty. She ruins my experience every time, the very few times that I've been there. I'm an easy customer, and very polite so I don't understand her treatment.. If Jasper's allow that treatment of customers then, I guess they deserve lower ratings. read more

The food was good and they have and amazing atmosphere. The food is a little on the expensive side but it's good. We had a problem with the waitress disappearing. They only have brunch on certain days which is disappointing. They also don't answer the phone so you don't know what if they have a line or not. The place is a vibe and the door is good. read more

You can't go wrong with Jasper's. It's a staple piece for a lot of people in the area and their hours make it just that much better

One of my favorite places to go when I don't feel like cooking. You can't go wrong with their brunch. My faves: - ribeye (blackened and with butter) - green beans - sweet potato casserole - catfish tacos - calamari - burgers (try their burgers!) Jaspers has strong drinks but, sometimes their mixers throw off the taste. Check your order if you do curbside pickup! They mess up regularly. read more

The food was tasty and our server was quick and attentive. A little loud but it is an open space.

Decided to give jaspers another try with a close friend of mine. We stopped by for drinks and some food! The drinks were strong! I ordered the crab dip to start which came with chips and bread. The crab dip was delicious. The bread was a bit too soft for the dip, it would have been better if the bread was a bit on the crunchy side. For my entree, i ordered the fried chicken with Mac and cheese and fries. The chicken and fries were pretty good but the Mac and cheese was off! I'm not sure, but it was very bland, it tasted like macaroni and flour. I definitely will not be ordering that again. My friend who is very picky when it comes to food enjoyed her Asian salmon teriyaki. Overall, food is okay, the drinks are good and the customer service is good as well! read more

I ate here twice in about 2 months.. I thought I just got lucky the first time-- my meal was really good. But the 2nd time; the steak and shrimp with peppers, onions, and black beans and rice was Excellent! Steak cooked medium to my request, so tender and flavorful that I did'nt need steak sauce. The peppers were fresh and there were lots of shrimp. Both times I have eaten at the bar and have not been disappointed with the drinks or the food. The crowd is HH mid 30's to 40's, older and mature. It's probably one of the best places to eat in this location, because there aren't a lot of restaurant options on this side of town. read more

I thank God for being pretty. Because it earned my friend and I preferential treatment here. #theperksofwomanhood But seriously though. I had never been to Jasper's before but I had heard good things about it. My friend suggested we go, and thus, we went. Upon entering, we could barely get the door open before an employee tripped over himself to hold the door for us. As soon as we got to the front, the host made a comment about our 'gorgeous' appearance and asked where we wanted to sit, saying we could 'walk around and take our pick'. Lol, well thanks. We scanned the area, chose a spot, and told him where we wanted to sit. It was at that moment I noticed the 'dress code' regulating what men and women could wear. That was interesting. We were seated quickly and immediately were greeted by a young man who had A LOT of tables to wait on, yet he was extremely attentive to our needs! He probably told us we were beautiful like four or five times lol, and of course he gave us some extra freebies just because he liked the way we looked lol. The food was really good...I savored every last little bit. My friend and I both got speciality burgers, and the fries were amaze! I swear the bill was wayyyy less than it was supposed to be!;-) We tipped our server well, though he requested our numbers instead lol. There's a heavy police presence in and around this building to prevent rift-raft from happening. However it seemed like some of them were more concerned about trying to make love connections...I had an officer leave his post to try and get my number...lmao. Lol I loved Jasper's. read more

I really like Jasper's! I came here with a friend for a late bite and I had a good time. The hostess greeted us immediately and we were promptly seated. Our server, Cameron was a very polite young man and when we decided to get their super combo, he suggested the spicy tiger sauce for the wings. OMG those wings were good! As a matter of fact, the super combo was super delicious. The atmosphere was nice and chill--it has a more mature crowd, which is what I like. The bathroom was clean too. They don't allow any riff raff and there's clear police presence. Also, this place is pretty large, plenty of seating at the bar and throughout the restaurant. After we paid the bill, our server said God Bless--didn't expect that and thought it was nice but I can see it being uncomfortable if you don't believe in God. Anyway, I definitely want to go back and try some other dishes and drinks from their menu. read more

Ive only been 1 time, I got the old bay wings, and I have to say that they were delicious.

Shrimp and crab dip with the tiger wings well done. The drinks are big and on spot. Ambiance is always a vibe

Meh. I wasn't impressed. I've visited Jasper's on several occasions, the most recent being a few Saturdays for a late lunch. I went with a group of friends, I believe there was six of us total, around 3 pm, so the midday lunch rush had subsided by the time we were seated. I ordered the broiled seafood platter. The food was plentiful, but bland. I should have ordered a burger or something a little less fancy. Jasper's is not a seafood restaurant, and therefore, my expectations for their seafood should have been a bit lower than they were. One thing that was REALLY good was their strawberry lemonade. That was delicious. read more

This is the BEST place that I have been to for brunch in PG County. My family and I go here often. We went for Father's Day - it was packed. The wait was 45-60 minutes. There were several seats in the bar area so we opted for that area. The bar area was wonderful - the bartender was very attentive and nice. Did I mention how packed it was? This is the first time that I had to wait in line for a waffle! They have an omelet bar, a fajita bar, breakfast meats, a carving station with usually 2 meats, fried chicken, fried fish, mac & cheese, home fries, and tons of other things - including a great dessert spread. I wanted a "peach" tea that wasn't on the menu. The bartender (our server) made one up for me - it was delicious! The atmosphere is always nice. Folks are always friendly. The restaurant tends to get crowded around noonish - this is no doubt around the time that many early morning church goers are done with services. I love this place! read more

So as far as the service goes, it was great no complaints there. No complaints overall with the food either, but it was just mediocre in my opinion. The portion sizes were great, but the actual taste of the food was not praiseworthy. I tried the lobster bisque, salmon and grits, crab dip appetizer and a side of sweet potato casserole. I didn't care for the bisque because it had a strange aftertaste. Everything else was just ok. read more

This was my first and last time eating at Jaspers. I'm praying that God releases my people from the chokehold this place has them in. Is it the bland Mac and cheese? Is it the badly mixed drinks? It's giving grade school cafeteria vibes. I'll give it to them... the ribs and the steak was good. But it wasn't good enough to make us frequent patrons. I can say, Steven our server was amazing! He had such a great energy to him despite us sending back dish after dish. We heard that the place usually plays good music which would have helped the vibe. When we went there was no music playing. The consensus was that we won't be coming back. But from the looks of things they got enough customers to keep them a float. read more

Where do I even start with this review. The 2.5hrs I spent at Jasper's was quite eventful. The 1st thing I experienced was trying to find the place. Easy to see? Yes but all the sign said was "sp", why would they not have that fixed?! We drove around twice just to make sure it was Jasper's. Anyhow, as soon as I entered security asked for my ID, I thought it was an upscale restaurant just like the Jaspers in Dallas but apparently it presents itself as a bar. I proceeded to find a seat at the bar but the whole place was PACKED. Almost felt like a club for a minute. I ended up having to sit in the waiting area for about 15 mins for a small table. While waiting, I watched a server have an intense encounter with a customer, it was a mess & very unprofessional. The security, police & manager if he/she was even there just stood there watching like everyone else. Once seated, I people watched for about 15 mins waiting for the server. What stood out to me is that no one seemed to be able to finish or even drink their drinks, which just really tickled me. Would you rather pay for alcohol or watered down drinks? If the drinks are "too strong" then maybe you shouldn't be drinking. 1st I ordered the Bone Crusher w/light ice. Looking at my glass compared to other photos, I got less because I didn't want a watered down drink, how ironic. It had a nice little kick but wasn't as strong as expected just left me thirsty. After asking 3 times, Craig finally brought me a water. He then suggested the Cajun Jambalaya out of the 3 listed. Let me tell you, I should've sent it back. The rice wasn't even cooked all the way, the veggies were still crunchy (should be sautéed), the bread was HARD...the meal was simply not good. Should've got the tiger wings my Lyft driver suggested. Luckily, I was able to wait another 15 mins for my mega LIT w/Cranberry juice to be made & sipped on that while I forced myself to eat. Was the LIT strong? Yes, like it's suppose to be! I should've just ordered 2 of those & would've been fine. Ultimately, will I come back? Yes, but ONLY for drinks. You can travel & immerse yourself enough in various kitchens/cuisines to know how certain entrees should taste & Jaspers just needs some help IMO. read more
