Let Me Just give you the run down and thank you for your time and if it was up to me this place should not receive a star. The food inspector should come out and the state should close this place down. We we're coming back from Solvang, ca. on our way back to Los Angeles, Ca. After a week of mini vacation. When my fiancee decide to surprise my mom and I to our last stop before heading home to Camarillo outlets since I never been there. Well once we arrive my mom and I were hungry. My mom looked around the food court and thought it was a good idea to try the Japan Cafe. So once I sat my 66 yr. Old mom and went to order with my fiancee . We saw that the cook was cooking while you order and I was trying to figure what it was. Mind you I never been here so the lady by the name of Carmen didn't know her own menu and couldn't explain what the cook was cooking and looked at me like in a confused way. So I try asking the Asian chic and she couldn't explain until the customer that order said it was chowmein shrimp and beef. Well going back to Carmen I asked her if I can get 2 orders of those and 2 seafood soup which big regret and a beef soup. And she kept rushing me and told me if you not ready to order move aside. I said excuse me I did order and she said what was your order. I repeated the order and the 2nd time she charges me and extra plate for the amount of 70.35 and I told her to review the order. She than said well the order is already made I told her but you are the one that charged me the extra plate. So the Asian chic started giving me this dirty look which it wasn't my fault to begin with the lady carmen didn't understand well English and hurrying me up she got my order incorrect and than started looking at me and laughing with the Asian chic. I than told the Asian chic can you call your manager she than said without going to the back. He is busy is there a problem I responded are you the manager and she said no. I than said ok can you please call your manager and she said he is busy and can't come with a smerk on her face. I than stating hiring my voice and said if you don't want me to make a scene call your manager. Mind you I have a 66 year old waiting for the food while this individual is just trying to argue, waiting 30 minutes for the soups to come out. I finally got the owner to come out explain the situation and appoligize and gave us another soup and drink.I explain to him I didn't pay 20 bucks this was more like $55.89 and could've gone somewhere else. he said yes your right and you shouldn't have gone through this and I will make sure we speak to both of them. But the nightmare doesn't stop there. After walking around with my fiancee and my mom waiting for us sitting down since she can't walk to much I come to find out she ended up sick vomiting, diarrhea, nauseas, shaking and just having to stop on our way back on the side of the freeway and park so she can make it home. Please take care of your love ones and this place has the bad customer service and I pray that someone reports this place because who knows what they put in their soup. Someone needs to investigate this place. This was a true story. UPDATE my mom will be ok but it was an awful experience. Well unfortunately at 12:45pm my mom is in the hospital now read more

The Japanese have honor. This place did not show it. Service and food were not more than a 3 star.

Not sure if this place is new, but wanted a quick bite while shopping at the Camarillo Outlets but was mighty doubtful of my options at this food-court because I've been there in the past and found their options a bit slim. As I was passing Japan Cafe, the guy at the counter insisted that I sample their teriyaki chicken and it was surprisingly good with a crisp caramelized and smoky exterior and tender on the inside. Seeing good promise, I ordered the beef plate and it was even better with beef cooked just right and not tough at all as can happen in some of these food courts. They cook up the meats to order so this probably helps with quality control. The beef had plenty of pungent black pepper to spice it up and I loved it! The price for the beef plate with half fried rice and half rice noodles and side of vegetables was about $8.99 if I remember it right. They didn't skimp on the portions here. Not bad at all! If i'm craving some asian food while doing some heavy outlet shopping, I know where to go now! P.S. Honeymee is right next to this place! What an awesome dessert to have after!! And Honeymee is so hard to find outside of LA a little further up north. Next time I'll share a plate and save some room for Honeymee! read more

This one chubby Japanese girl behind the cashier has a frown face with an attitude. I ordered with my meal with coke and she didnt even give me receipt and she didnt give me a cup also. After i got my meal i went back oh you didnt give me a cup she was saying you didnt order drink! She seem overly stressed and just wanted to go back home and a few seconds later she clocked out. Such a poor service.! I never experienced something like this ..! The cooks were professional and seem experienced knows how to serve the customers. Because of them i give two stars otherwise 0 stars for this type of service. The worst thing pisses me off is she gave me a cup and saying "oh its fine" twice and making me look like im pathetic dude asking for a free drink! Who in the world can tolerate that! read more

I was excited about this because I love the similar place at the oaks and Pac view mall. Got the standard chicken teriyaki to go. Got to my car and the rice was hot but the chicken was cold. From what I could gather, they cook the chicken and leave it in a bowl and when you order it they make it seem like they are cooking it fresh. So with the teriyaki sauce and hot rice you get cold chicken. A few pieces were a little warm. I literally gagged and spit it out. Super disappointing and super gross. AVOID EATING HERE! Not only is the staff rude and telling you to hurry up to make your order, but their food is greasy and will make you sick. My mother-in-law got severe nausea from eating the seafood ramen soup and my fiancee and I got gas from the teriyaki beef and shrimp plates. If you ask to speak with a supervisor expect to have the girl assisting the cook to give you attitude or the lady at the register pretend not to understand you. My daughter is extremely picky. So when the gentleman offered her a sample of teriyaki chicken I was a bit nervous but she actually liked it. You have a choice of rice noodles or fried rice or white rice served with vegetables and chicken. My daughter omitted the veggies. she ate half of the take away container. Since this is tucked in back of an outlet's food court, we didn't even know it existed without Yelp's help. My wife ordered the beef teriyaki and I the chicken sweet chili teriyaki. Also an order of fried dumplings. We both agreed we liked the flavor of the meets. Both had a slight char flavor which enhanced the teri. Rice and vegetable sides adequate. Love this place! Went here 11/23/17 for Black Friday shopping, the employees are incredibly nice and one of them offered me samples so I could taste the food. He also asked me about my Star Wars shirt and asked me how my night was going. Would recommend this place! read more
