This review has been a long time coming. I'm sorry I didn't make it earlier period I've had Janice pest control for about 3 years, previously I had Terminix. Since I've been with him, it has been a lot more personalized service. I have the same individual who comes to my house and asks if I need any additional services at no charge. When I say additional services, I mean additional rooms like my garage or my laundry room. They've recently upgraded their website so it's a lot easier to pay for them. They're a small company but their attention to detail is great. I always wondered why they called themselves Janus. Being that Janus is the goddess of January, which means she can look in the past year and the future to the present year. In Latin janua means door. So, I would be interested to know why they called themself Janus. In modern day Janus means two faced because the Roman goddess had two faces to see the past and the present at the same time. Right I digress. I know this may be off topic, but I am a Latin buff. On a serious note, the company is great, hire them! They have great prices, fantastic customer service, and a personal touch. read more

I started an account with Janus a few years ago in an attempt to battle my backyard mosquitos. The In2Care Mosquito Traps/Bucket were recommended and require an initial purchase of the buckets and then a monthly service. Janus has always been very easy to work with and responsive when installation and arranging regular service. These traps appear to be making a significant impact as well. I recently had to call the Janus office to get clarifications on a recent invoice and to address a problem with one of my traps. First of all, it's very easy to work with this small company who treats you very personally and instead of forcing me to purchase another trap, they quickly and without hesitation replaced the missing parts and serviced the trap the following day. read more

Do not use this company. We just moved into a new home and had scheduled a visit to get a quote for termite maintenance. First the guy arrives and says that termites aren't his expertise. Um okay, we specifically made the appointment for termites so why did he even take the appointment then?! He then asks if we are using them for rodents and my husband let's him know we wanted to get a couple quotes and then the guy says he is going to decline the appointment. My husband asks if he could know the reason and his response was "I don't even want to say". The whole interaction was less than 5 minute and awkward. My husband came back in super confused as to what happened. Like was there a ghost at our house wth!? We were so weirded out, we called the company back and asked if they could follow up which they did. Supposedly he said they are booked through May and not cheap which didn't make sense bc why even bother accepting the appointment. Please skip this one, there are better and more professional companies out there! read more

We had a horrible ant problem a few weeks ago. I mean they were everywhere! I called and spoke with the office and they went over everything with me. Then they sent out the nicest technician. I have not seen an ant since. I will be telling all my friends to use you. read more

Mr. & Mrs. Ratty McRatterson finally got their eviction notice thanks to Janus Pest Management. I was always afraid to pull the trigger on dealing with the rats because every place I called gave me a quote for thousands of dollars. But November 2012 I finally decided to try one more place and found Janus Pest on Angie's list. I got a quote for $365 for everything! I was suspicious about the difference in price but I had to do something. Janus came highly recommended by Angie's list, and they were so nice on the phone, so I went for it. Kirk did an evaluation and based on how established they seemed to be up there, decided to do a setup and "pre-bait" in the attic and crawl space. That is where he just lays out the traps with the bait (but doesn't set them) to get the rats comfortable. He used peanut butter and old-fashioned wooden traps. He came back a few days later and actually set them. Then he came back 4 more times, once each week, to check and rebait traps as needed, maybe change the pattern of them, etc. The final step was to seal everything off so they find someplace else to hang out. Very impressed with this company. Six months out of a year, the non-profit organization I lead (AYSO-American Youth Soccer Organization, Region 7) uses Nielsen Park in Westchester (LAX). We started the season with a big problem for our kids playing soccer: gophers were everywhere, destroying the fields and running around while the little ones were practicing. One of our volunteers contacted Janus Pest Management and I am happy we did. Top notch customer service and dedicated personnel. No one wants to see a rat diving under their house as I did the other night. I immediately logged onto Angie's List and began researching options for rodent/pest control. I was very impressed with Janus' website which reflected their knowledge of what their business is and their experience in the industry. I knew that I wanted to go with a local owner-operated company for this project due to the sensitive nature, I did not want to be on hold if something went awry. Jay came out the very next day to do an inspection and provide me a quote. He was punctual, professional, and friendly.We worked out a fair deal and he went right to work setting up traps. Within the first week Jay has come back to my house twice to collect the rats that have been caught and reset the traps. He's done it usually within a few hours of me calling, and even though I signed up for weekly visits he has not made one issue of coming back whenever a rodent has been caught. No one wants a rodent or pest problem, but when you have one I am sure we all want to work with a vendor that understands how important it is for you and your family to sleep in peace. I've been using Janus for years now for my 4 unit apartment building where I also live. I'm always amazed with the great service I receive. How come every company can't be run like Janus? I switched from Orkin because there was a new service rep every couple of months and I was tired of explaining our needs every time. Our technician Kirk is so pleasant to work with, patiently answers my questions. Texts me notice when he's coming the day before per my request and remembers our needs with pets, etc. Oh, and they turned out to be less expensive than Orkin. It's no surprise they have all 5 star ratings on Yelp. I can't imagine why you wouldn't love their service, especially since they help you keep your home bug free! read more

I have been a customer of Janus Pest Management for more than 6 years and have never had to call them back for a re-treatment. I use them for both my home and business. My previous Pest company, was nickle and diming me to death and I had to call them back constantly to re-treat for issues. Once Janus took over this never happened again and the price was significantly lower. The technicians are both knowledgeable and friendly and the customer service is amazing. I also had them do some termite work and I was pleasantly surprised at how low the price was and that there was no inspection fee. We had a really bad skunk problem and hired Janus to help us. Jay Spicer came to the rescue and the problem was quickly handled for a reasonable price. About a year later we were completely inundated with ants, and once again I hired Janus and have never had an ant problem since. Jay Spicer is responsive, efficient, and also really nice. A while later we had the unfortunate experience of a family of rats moving into our home. I nearly lost my mind with this one, you can't imagine how quickly our home turned into a vermin infested nightmare. I called Jay, and for $395 we had dozens of traps set (that put an end to NINE rats lives so far) and also contracted for outdoor rat control to keep the problem from happening again. Jay works hard to accommodate my schedule to come by and service the traps. (I HIGHLY recommend calling Janus immediately when you have rats. Even one rat. It got really bad really fast because we thought we could handle it ourselves with a few traps.) That wasn't all. While we were dealing with the rats, I was bitten by a black widow spider (in my bed, while I slept, augh!) and I called Jay (who is now on speed dial) and he came right away and sprayed the house which has given me untold peace of mind.
