decent experience with versa-tech. from a customer experience standpoint, i don't have too much to complain about, but from a cost to quality one, definitely not too pleased. i paid $450 for one time "first time" service fee just to have the service done so i wouldn't have to do it myself. but PLEASE do your own homework and realize that they are doing nothing different than using generic pesticides that you can purchase on the market on your own, including that from pestie which is the same stuff. the weird thing is that after we got our house sprayed down, we actually found more LIVE bugs around the house than dead ones. we were told that the chemical is supposed to work as dead on contact so not too sure why we are experiencing this. all in all, do your own pest control. it's not that hard, and shouldn't be that expensive. read more

We worked with Daniel for two rental properties that got rats in the attic-- for one of the properties, we first we had tried to fight the rats ourselves for at least a month and all our efforts were for nothing. Daniel was so knowledgeable and solved what we couldn't in just a couple visits. For a very reasonable price too! For the second property, things were much more complicated. Due to the Santa Ana winds, the roof got damaged, and rats made a nest in the attic. Daniel was very flexible and worked with our schedule to get rid of the rats as the roof was getting fixed. Due to our own fault with the roof repairing, a rat got in at the final stages of rodent proofing, consumed some poison, and died within one of the walls. I wish I could put it into words how grateful I am for the patience, diligence, and dedication that Daniel and Versa Tech has put into repair the damage as well as communicating with the very upset tenants. There were some very difficult circumstances and conversations with the tenants where they had demanded for Daniel to do several follow-up visits. For the past several weeks, a type of songbird mockingbird nearby decided to get cozy and perched on the chimneys like the owls before, but this bird would sing from dawn until dusk, changing from several high pitch tones. This caused sleep disturbance and poor sleep, as their songs echoed into the rooms. I have been running low on sleep. It originally perched on a large tree that's nearby, but recently started perching on the chimneys. I couldn't stand it anymore. I found Jason on Yelp again and he was booked for the next 3 weeks, and although I booked, he felt my pain, and after a cancelled appointment, surprisingly called right away an hour later to offer to assist with the noisy bird issue. He suggested the best way is through defense instead of trying to trap birds which most likely won't work, or use fake owl and noise which only temporary deters. He meticulously installed bird spikes along the top and in the middle of all three chimney spark arresters. It took several hours on a hot summer day on the roof, but the quality, value and professionalism was top notch. This was the second time I've used his company for pest control, and have been referring his services to our family and friends. One company even fired themselves because our problem got worse. I've exhausted every local pest company. Same spiel, same service. Rarely did a company actually investigate during the consultation. CONSULT: Versa-Tech was different: he actually crawled into the attic -- very crime scene investigation vibes. He stayed up there forever and took everything seriously. ID'd a roach egg pod, found dead roaches in the attic, and deduced their traffic areas. Everything he said clicked and made complete sense on why we were seeing them in the tub and under our vents in only one room. He's an expert and it shows. TREATMENT: His plan? This review is just based on the initial free inspection. I looked up a few pest companies because we had been hearing noises in the kitchen and attic. Versa-Tech had good reviews so we called them to come do an initial inspection. The tech who came by, Joe, was very professional and thorough. I was really impressed with his attention to detail and also the fact that he put a tarp down and shoe covers. Cleanliness is a big thing for me. He did a thorough inspection and showed us his findings. The follow up email of what they would do was also very thorough. I really wish we could have gone with Versa-Tech. Unfortunately we are renters and our landlord went with another company. You could definitely tell the difference in quality just from the inspection. We were smelling a skunk for a few weeks, but we thought the skunk was probably in our neighbor's backyard. Little did we know, the skunk was under our shed in our backyard. I found Versa-Tech on Yelp and found the reviews reliable, so I decided to give it a call. A lady picked up and I explained the situation to her and she said that the schedule coordinator will came to schedule the free inspection. A few minutes later, the schedule coordinator calls (I was amazed at how fast they work!) and she was able to schedule the inspection for that same afternoon (which was perfect). The technician we worked with was Cesar and he arrived at the scheduled time. He explained to me the process with the skunk traps and the humane treatment of it (the skunk gets relocated and released). Cesar came over every other morning to check on the skunk trap and it took about a week for the skunk to finally get trapped! I texted Cesar the morning that I noticed the trap door closed and he sent another technician (since he was not available at the time) to pick up the traps and the skunk. The other technician arrived in less than hour and picked everything up (finally no more skunk smell). I appreciate the professionalism of the company and the inspection reports that I receive via email every time they came to check on the trap. The payment process was also very simple and fast (paid via credit card) and I received the payment receipt immediately via email. The reason I chose this company was because they offered a guarantee, addressed the root cause of what led to the animal problem, and the price was very reasonable. We live in a neighborhood where there's fruit tress all over the place, and with fruit trees come pesky rats. We gave Versa-Tech a call after trying to catch them ourselves (we were successful) but they kept coming back, we could even hear them under our house (gross)! I gave Versa-Tech a call and Daniel was out a few days later for a free quote. He checked out the whole house (attic, roof, crawl space) and looked for any spots that were not properly sealed up and advised where he saw any rat droppings and trails (pictures included). He was extremely thorough and very detailed. In an effort to save some cash we decided to seal up some of the holes ourselves - bad idea, it ended up costing us a few hundred dollars in materials. After spending over half the day trying to seal up a few spots we gave up and had Versa-Tech do it all, this included: sealing all potential access points into the house, placing traps throughout the house, and included three follow up visits with a one year warranty. I called so many places and this one year warranty is very hard to come by. Daniel was always on time and was great to work with. We are a shoe-free house and he always used foot coverings prior to entering. Once everything was properly sealed up (thanks Daniel) we didn't have a rat problem anymore. I had a contractor installing a new bathroom vent and he discovered we had a serious rodent problem in my attic. He referred me to Jason. I sent Jason a text and he immediately got back to me and let me know Chris would be contacting me to set up an inspection & estimate. Within the hour Chris gave me a call, set up a day & time to come check everything out. I was really surprised how quickly the moved! Once Chris came out a few days later on a Friday to inspect that attic he told me it was bad. Showed photos of what was going on up there and expressed concern over completely open access points. I was harboring a little rat hostile. I let Chris know (which was very obvious) that I'm pregnant and due in 2 weeks, how quickly could they come in and start this project. He let me know if I was ready they could call in a crew to work Saturday and get it going considering my time crunch. They showed up early Saturday AM with a crew of 4 and these guys worked tirelessly ALL day. I couldn't believe how long and hard they worked. They also sent me photos and videos throughout the day updating me on what they were finding and how it was going. Once they finished that evening Chris let me know that this job was much bigger than expected and they needed an additional 2 days to properly clean and sanitize the area so it would not only be safe for me but a new baby. These guys got out all of our old instillation, cleaned out the rat poops, sanitized the urine, removed some asbestos, documented wire & plumbing damage, as well as sealing off access points all over my property(home & detached garage) while setting traps. On top of that they are so clean themselves!! They covered everything in plastic and cleaned my floors up after! I expected to come home and have to vacuum & mop and was shocked when my vacuum wasn't even picking anything up! I am so incredibly grateful we were referred to this company. They still have a few ends to tie up, however my husband and I feel very confident and safe bringing home a newborn now. You guys are a life saver! We had a family of birds roosting above our second floor window that were becoming an issue due to bird droppings and nesting material gradually covering our patio. We reached out to Versa-Tech and they immediately scheduled a free on site inspection the very next day. Jason conducted the inspection and gave us the run down of what needed to be done and provided a quote. We then scheduled the job and Joe came the following day. Joe was on time and did a fantastic job. He removed the fledglings that had hatched and all the nesting material. He then boarded up the gap in between our window border and rafters where the birds had been nesting. Bird spikes were installed and Joe even took the time to clean the bird droppings that had been accumulating on our patio. Unfortunately, even with the bird spikes, the birds came back and started pecking at the stucco border and re-building a nest on top of the bird spikes. I reached out to Joe and he came back for followup visit to patch the stucco and remove the new nesting material at no additional cost. To prevent the birds from coming back for good, he bent the bird spikes more and added some sticky bird deterrent which seems to have done the trick. Overall, a great experience.
