THEY GOT THE LITTTLE BUGGER! I had a mole that was destroying my yard. After trying every kind of trap I could buy on Amazon, as well as those gasser things (and spending a couple of hundred dollars in the process) I called Rodent Guys. The woman on the phone told me up front that moles were very hard to catch, but I insisted I had no other options. A wonderful man named Bruce came out and set traps. It took about 3 weeks but finally we had success! I am so grateful to Bruce for all his hard work. He always called ahead to let me know when he would be arriving, and did everything he could to leave me as a satisfied customer. I have to enforce the rudeness of the office manager. I inquired for ground squirrel control with carbon monoxide as advertised here on Yelp, and was told that they do not want to do business with me. This was extremely rude as I was not the one to write the advertisement. MY assumption was that I could talk to the owner, providing the service as a person on the phone senht have not been aware. After her refusal, I started reading her the advertisement and t hen she said I am unsuitable customer. This is rude, unprofessional, and plain unlawful. Here is what their statement reads: Established in 2009. For years owner Nick Nielsen used poisons for controlling gophers throughout Los Angeles, Riverside, Ventura, Orange and San Bernardino Counties. As laws changed and people became more educated about alternatives Rodent Guys changed as well. In 2012 Rodent Guys switched from poison to trapping for gopher control, mole control and ground squirrel control. This coupled with carbon monoxide gas treatment has made Rodent Guys Gopher Removal Service the most popular with pet owners. Licensed trappers are used for animal trapping for gophers, skunks, raccoons, opossums, and squirrels. So not sure what to do here. HORRENDOUS admin. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon setting up the service, I told the person taking my info that I do not live at the property, so any communications need to be directly to me and not to the service address. She said ok, no problem, but never took an email address or my personal mailing address[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First day of service I was supposed to meet the tech at the property. Radio Silence until 2 hour after the meeting window closed[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Office said the lines were just so busy all day (?) that they couldn't call me back, visiting tech said something else, whatever, at least he finally showed up so I forgot about it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After a few weeks I stopped getting the visit confirmations, and the blue flags that I was putting out to mark gopher holes weren't really moving.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tenant finally told me they were putting notices in the mailbox (at the address I said not to use,) but as tenant rarely checks the mail, it was all delayed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called the office to remedy the communication, the Manager wouldn't stop talking over me long enough to solve the problem. They charged around $300 for a couple of gopher traps and five minute work and give me 60 days warranty. Exactly after 60 days the gophers came back (I think they work for rodent guys:)) and destroyed my lawn again. I paid another $300, and guess what - the gophers are back after warranty expiration. Rilo and the Rodent guys did a fantastic job with my gopher issues. The appointment was set by the front office and Rilo contacting me stating what time he will arrive. He knows the inside out of everything needed to know to battle the gophers. He assessed the situation and started placing his traps throughout the backyard and front lawn. He checked up on the traps a total 3-4 times until there were no signs of new gopher activity anymore. We were able to capture 3 gophers in total. The worst ever experience with Kathy, the receptionist and the guy who comes to do the work. I hired them 4 years ago and they were very reasonable and the guy when he comes he does a great job by eliminating all the gofers in my small back yard (grass area, about 200 square feet). Last year, when I called Kathy said it will be 10% off the original price because I am a returning customer. When the guy came, he charged me full amount and said, that amount is after the 10% off. It is such lie and they cheated me. This time, when I called she increased the price by $100 and said 10% off of that because of returning customer and this time I asked her, in that case after 10% off, how much it would be. I wanted her to give me a the discount price and she said he will let you know and she doesn't know. She and the guy who does the work are liars and cheaters. The service people are good and helpful. They do a good job. However there is one woman in the office who is not helpful or nice. She is the only reason I stopped using the service. About a month ago I noticed some gopher holes in my back yard, I used the typical "over the counter" treatment to remove them. And that worked... until last week. I started to notice new holes in my backyard. I called rodent guys and they come out right away. When they got here, they noted that the holes weren't caused by gophers, but probably a racoon or some other animal. They said to give them a call if I noticed other holes, but I don't have to worry about gophers today. These guys were amazing, they were very helpful and came out and when they saw I don't have gopher problems, they left without worrying about payment. My backyard was a MESS! I had so many gopher holes and mounds that I didn't want my 5 year old to play in the backyard and twist and ankle. I was planning to plant a huge garden so I called the Rodent Guys to come erradicate. The first payment was $275 for 60 days and in that time they came out over 8 times and caught 7 (or more) gophers. I tilled out my backyard to make the garden and once my 60 days was up, a new little bugger started eating my lettuce. So I called the Rodent Guys back and out they came. I am now on the quarterly service ($135 / 3 months) and I can call them as often as I need during that time. They have already caught the lettuce eater. And you don't need to worry about moles because they do not eat the roots of your trees but just eat the bugs. AND RODENT GUYS WAS GOING TO CHARGE $200 for a 60 day guarantee    I said thank you so much and let me pay you the $200. Absolutely not he said. This brought me to tears. To find an honest person who did not try to gouge me! THIS IS AFTER I TRIED ELIMINIX. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!I am so disappointed in this company! They promised to deal with the gophers under the avocado tree. He came twice and said he would be there three more times! I said what if you don't get the gophers. Do you continue? What I loved! They use no chemicals. Yes No chemicals. Safe for dogs. For that reason alone I might use the again. What I didn't like. I called Rodent Guys and I was quoted on the phone a certain price. I even asked twice are you sure this is the price for my home? I live on a hill and have a large hillside. She said yes as long as its under 5,000 square foot land area. Ok well when they arrived. The pricing increased! I said ok and moved on. 2.- I requested an additional month of golfer service. I stated I wanted it on a per month basis. Well without my authorization they continue to charge my credit card. I finally called them and they stated the monthly maintenance was on a month AUTO RENEW. an auto renew that they never mentioned to me. The receptionist on the phone stated she mentioned that, but i'm very sure she did not. The reason I'm sure is I work with auto renewed contracts and if she mentioned that I would have remember. 3.- When I tried to cancel my auto renew, the receptionist said if I want service again it will now be closer to $300-$350.00 to get gopher service at my home unless I agreed to be charged on their auto renewed service. Rarely do the people of Yelp fail me... but in this case, they did. The house next door was under renovation, and for some reason all the rats that were in their house came to mine. Sometimes at night, I would see fruit on the counter being knocked over and shredded all over the floor, and during late nights, I heard scratching in the walls. The fiancé and I found holes in places, one leading towards the pantry in the kitchen. I was scared. The house needed someone to come to our rescue, and FAST! I called Rodent Guys and scheduled an appointment for the next morning. The woman on the phone kept telling me, there was a fee for the man to come out and inspect the place, but if we chose to use Rodent Guys, that fee would go towards the total cost of our service. After someone comes out to inspect the house, then they can give us a quote. I looked online and found out that rodent removal would be somewhere between $250-$500, plus a fee for patching up holes. But when my fiancé asked the exterminator how much it would cost, he said somewhere between $600-$1200. My fiancé flipped out, there's no way we can afford $1200 for rat removal! The exterminator replied, "Whoa whoa whoa! I didn't tell you how much it would cost yet!" Which is then he said, rat removal would be $450. That's bullshit. The exterminator literally said the price range, but then once he saw how upset we were, he retracted his statement. My fiancé and I suspect that he saw our neighborhood and assumed we had money, so he jacked up the price. My fiancé and I broke the cardinal rule and paid for the services first, including a tip. What did the exterminator do? The exterminator took his ladder and checked the attic, poked his head around. Then he went to Orchard and bought mouse traps and scattered them around the property. And then he said he was late for an appointment and said he would help patch the holes later. But that question still lingers in my mind, what DID this guy actually do? He laid out traps that he bought from Orchard and then looked into our closet and attic. I could have done that. My fiancé could have done that. And we actually bought more traps from Orchard, the exact same ones, and laid them around our house. These traps did nothing. NOTHING. The exterminator patched up a couple holes with plywood, but he did a very lazy job. The house painter even pointed it out, who did that and why did they do it? The painter was shocked at the crappy job, even he started to get angry at the so-called "handiwork." The worst part? We still had rats coming in. As soon as I took a nap, the rats came out and tried to eat any fruit they could find. I was getting super pissed. Finally, my fiancé realized that there was a drain outside that went from the washing machine to the side of the house. As soon as my fiancé zip-tied mesh to the pipe, BOOM. No more rats. During that time, the house painter started working on the house. The combination of the noise, paint fumes, and loss of entry ways deterred the mice from coming back to our house. As for the exterminator, he drove us crazy. The exterminator would plan for appointments and failed to show because he always wrote us down for different days. We agreed to meet on Wednesday, but he would leave a note on Thursday saying he missed us. He would call in to schedule appointments that didn't exist. And when I would call the Rodent Guys and got the secretaries, they apologized and said, "I don't know why he did that." It was the worst $500 ever spent. For those who are considering using these people, you might as well get the rat traps from Orchard, check your attic and closet for poop droppings, and nail plywood to the holes on the side of your house.
