We called Pest Innovations because we had a concern regarding the possibility of termites in our kitchen. We were given an appointment for 9:00-10:00 am the the following Monday. Carlos showed up promptly at 9:00 am looking and acting professional and asked us what we were experiencing. After explaining the situation he began his inspection. He was very thorough and after completely inspecting the area he explained that he didn't feel that there was a termite problem and that he didn't want to do work that wasn't needed just to charge us. To clarify, there was no charge for the inspection. He asked if there were any other areas of concern and also looked at our garage area and said it looked like that was free of termites too. His honesty clearly reflects the integrity of the company he works for and while we didn't need their services this time, Pest Innovations is the pest control company that we will call in the future if we ever need it and we will recommend them to friends and family if they need a pest control company. read more

This company is a joke. They are contracted by property managers. That's the only reason why they have positive reviews, they save the slumlords money. I made complaints for two months for bug bites on my body. They said they could not find bed bugs in my apartment . This began in June, after 3 inspections and no signs of pests, I did my own research after the "professionals" couldn't find the bed bugs and found carpet Beatles by my window seal. I figured that it was only carpet Beatles and allowed them to treat. But I continued to get bites on my body and complained to the landlord, she basically said oh well , and if I had bed bugs, I would have to pay for treatment. I finally found the live bed bugs, and the landlord would not treat until I had a bedbug in a container. Later on I find out that pest control knew it was bedbugs when they treated for carpet Beatles, funny that the manager did not even tell me I had them. George, the owner, called me with the landlord after I gave a written letter to the landlord, with a story that was completely twisted around and false, while telling me I should have had my stuff ready within 48 hours (for the first treatment) , funny because his own employees can't even identify carpet beetles. I called this company to have them check my dad's and mom's house out for termites. One guy came with a sprayer on his back. I showed him where we suspected the termites might be, assuming he'd verify it with one of those optical things they put in walls, and my dad and I went back downstairs to avoid any fumes and to let the guy work. The guy came back down in less than two minutes, said he had sprayed and charged us $250.00, which my dad wrote him a check for. He left. When I went back upstairs to check on things I realized he had done nothing. There had been no investigating and no spraying. He had just taken advantage of a senior citizen. My dad was too afraid of the guy to stop the check or even to complain to anyone. Anyone else who has been screwed over by these people should report them--both here on Yelp and possibly even to the BBB or other authorities in your area of the San Gabriel Valley and see if they have other similar complaints against them. I have retained the paid check as proof and can verify the truth of my dad's complaint. $250 for less than two minutes? Outrageous! I am keen to know who may have written all their positive reviews--they seem to sound very similar, as if the same chap is posting many of them. read more

I live in an apartment in Van Nuys, my landlord used pest innovations to handle a bed bug problem that had infested half the building. After 1 chemical treatment and 2 heat treatments the bed bugs continue to live. I am not sure exactly what this company is doing or how much experience they have but after 2 months of suffering I have let me management company know that pest innovations will not be the company that does the next treatment. 3 strikes and continuing to fail. If you have bed bugs go to a more established company like Orkin, etc. Im sure pest innovations can handle cockroaches and rats but something more serious like bed bugs you should leave to professionals. read more

On their first visit, they were actually very friendly and understanding on the issues I was having. Upon the 2nd visit it went from them being helpful to now us as the customer having to bend over backwards for this company and then making us feel as if we're a burden yet when I'm paying them for a service that isn't cheap. On appointments they were either late or way too early, they would arrive and then "check" the traps. Half the traps wouldn't be refilled with bait. Very lazy workers. On the last appointment they were suppose to leave the traps that I paid for and they took them. And then I come to find out while they were removing a trap behind our laundry dryer, in order to access the traps behind it, they should have shut off the valve to the gas line and detached the gas line going into the dryer which is the safest way to do so, instead they simply pulled the dryer out with the gas line attached and SNAPPED MY GAS LINE causing a huge dangerous leak into my garage in which I was able to verify as Everything was caught on my garage camera. I've been dealing with bedbugs for almost an year. I tried almost all home treatments available. Diamacetous earth, orange oil, alcohol, steam. Then I went on and i got a 'professional" to come and spray my home with some unknown chemical. That involved me emptying closets, spending hours at laundromat, throwing away countless items ruined in the dryer. 27 large bags of clothing, shoes and miscellaneous items to carry in and out the house. To no avail. The only thing that work, folks, is the heat treatment. It might sound pricey, but believe me it's worth the countless hours and sleepless night I spent dealing with this horrendous pest. So I hired these people to set cages for Raccoons, 2 cages not cheap, 50 dollars for each animal removed. Well funny how I left for work in the morning with 1 trap with a possum called for its removal, got home from work 1 trap gone and a Possum in the second trap. Another 50.00 charge and not that I could tell you if the Possum was different or not but my guess was that they just made an easy 50 dollars for the same animal. I was scheduled to have the traps for 10 days. Well they picked up 1 trap on Thursday and said they would not be returning it until Monday that they do not work weekends, Today is Friday they did not return with a trap nut sure as heck were able to show up and collect 50.00 I do not have any proof this is just a gut feeling. I echo the reviews given by Jessica M. and Daniel B. I wholeheartedly agree with them because they exactly "lie on behalf of slum landlords." I have had bedbugs for the past five months and I had my apartment fumigated five times in my bedroom and four times in the living room. The amount of time I wasted with this company is ludicrous. I spent AT LEAST a thousand dollars, replacing furniture, doing the entire laundry over and over again, their treatment is completely INEFFECTIVE!!! They are the cheapest company contracted by property managers. On Friday (11/24/17), I had Pest Innovations come for the fifth time to fumigate my apartment. This time they were using a "different treatment" and the health inspector today came and found another live bedbug crawling in my bed frame. Also Pest Innovations arrived 30 minutes early and knocked on my door and when I told them they were early, some greasy looking unprofessional guy who showed up, who barely spoke English started giving me attitude for not being ready. He showed me a paper that said it was scheduled for 10:30am-1:00pm which they entirely just fabricated when he left the office at his convenience, gave me no notice. I showed the notice given by my manager that stated it was from 11:00am-12:00pm. I will no longer have them step into my unit! If I could take away stars, I would. Without a doubt, one of the worst companies I've ever had the displeasure of working with. A rat got into our attic....the company sent their "expert" We are on a monthly service, it took them over a week for their expert to come. I paid extra for trapping/removing and repair. The "repair" was a joke, and they never completed for what we paid. Now I noticed subterranean termites. I called and again, they sent their "expert". Same "expert" they sent for the rat. I showed him the area where the termites are.....the expert kneeled down by the wall and pointed out the "holes" the termites had made. I had to show him that the holes at which he was pointing, were from little nails in the base shoe. He actually acted surprised as he realized and agreed that the holes were NOT from termites. The expert said he would draw up a diagram and treatment required....this is over a week ago. Needless to say, we are no longer using Pest Innovations. read more
