Waited to try this place because it has been pretty busy when we went by. But definitely a great breakfast spot! Mortadella breakfast Sando hit the spot

Honestly one of my favorite new spaces... For brunch... For sourdough...For pastries...for pancakes. I really love the variety here. As a member of the 40 and up women's club, bread isn't always my friend, neither is cheese. I love that this menu offers greens, beets, and lentils for breakfast in addition some really delicious traditional favorites like croissants, cinnamon rolls, and the actual best pancakes on earth. [pancake profile: light, fluffy, crispy, incredibly tender bite, easy on the belly] Sourdough loaves and sourdough cinnamon rolls are unmatched! You can tell they take pride in the quality of ingredients here...the eggs, the flour, everything tastes, fresh and intentional. The service is literally always good, staff are friendly and willing to accommodate dietary needs. The space is quaint, could probably use a few more tables because the line grows like weeds. Parking is a pain, but maybe I'll start finding a spot to park nearby and walk. Highly recommend. Try everything.

Great lunch find! After seeing the feature article in Style Weekly we had to check out Janet's. The menu was challenging as we both wanted to order more things than one meal can contain. The breakfast options were available through lunch which added to our difficulty in choosing. We settled on a Loretta, a Carmela, and a single pancake (only $3.50, had to try it!) The Loretta is a take on a meatball sub, with caramelized onions and a red wine pan sauce along with gouda and horseradish sauce. It was an outstanding combo of elements and flavors and textures. The Carmela is reminiscent of a muffaletta, with an excellent olive salad to accent the cold cuts and cheese. Both of these sandwiches were on the messy side but it is important to note that the breads used for each held up to the very end, both in structure and in flavor. The pancake was about the best I have had in Richmond in recent memory. Could have been hotter, the butter wouldn't melt on it. But the flavor and consistency of the pancake actually made the butter and side of maple syrup unnecessary. Just a delightful side! Downsides: many people standing around waiting for orders to come up and not enough tables for the crowd. So standing and waiting for a table for nearly 30 minutes with two cold drinks in my hand was a bit of a stretch. Good thing the food was so worth it! Also, by noon this day there were no baked goods in evidence to be purchased. Clearly we need to get there earlier in the day. Last small picky detail - thin cheap napkins. We went through a LOT of them. None of these quibbles make me hesitant to recommend the place. As I told a friend later, I went in with high expectations -- and they were exceeded.

Having Janet's has been such a nice addition to the Forest Hill Area! I've been a few times and I've ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich, cappuccino, chocolate sprinkle cookie, the chicken Caesar sandwich, avocado toast and the chocolate croissant. The croissant itself is so soft and buttery and tastes very good! The breakfast sandwich has been my go to and it's so yummy! Everything has been so good and I also enjoyed the avocado toaste so much. I'm not sure about availability, that might be a weekend thing. Overall, I really enjoy Janet's! The only thing I would be mindful of is seating. There's not a whole lot, so just think of that on your next visit. Definitely a must try!

Everything I've picked up or eaten there has been incredible. They have very limited seating and you have to stand their waiting for your food and it's very hard to hear. I would not say it is reasonably priced. It's a little pricey, but you know for a special occasion, they're baked goods are out of the world. The bread is yummy and I like their coffee drinks. I wish there was more area for seating when it's summertime or nicer weather you can't sit outside just be prepared that you're probably not gonna find a parking space and you might need to park across the street and then walk over.

Loved my first experience at Janet's. It was a busy Friday morning with all the tables taken. Luckily I was just dropping in for a hot chocolate to go. I saw online they were have multiple flavors throughout the month. I got the s'mores which was delicious. Service was great. I was waiting in line for a bit. While I waited, someone behind the baked good counter asked if they could get me anything to expedite the checkout I'm assuming. Will be back for sure. The bakery case looked delicious, as did the menu.

Took a meeting with my intern here and it was amazing! This new bakery and coffee shop is absolutely stunning. I love all the natural lighting that pours into the space. They had plenty of seating available indoors and a couple tables outside. We came on a Wednesday late morning and it was fairly busy. We sat at a comfy booth by a big window. They have good wifi here too so it was nice to get some work done. The barista was sweet when taking our orders. They call out your name when your food and drinks are ready. We got the chocolate croissant, buttermilk pancakes with added fresh berries, a mocha, and a drip coffee. The mocha wasn't too sweet which was nice and I liked my coffee. The chocolate croissant was way too dry so I would not order that again. The real star of the show were the buttermilk pancakes! First of all the presentation was EVERYTHING! Second while they're just pancakes, they were GOOD pancakes. I especially loved the berries and style they cooked them. I'm excited to come back to try their other baked goods as well as their breads.

Love this new bakery off Forest Hill. The line was long at 8am on a Saturday but moved quickly. They have printed menus to browse while you wait. Both the coffee and the pastries (sourdough cinnamon roll, chocolate almond croissant) were delicious but the star was the breakfast burrito! The tortilla was flaky and really delicious. Staff were very friendly, helping us navigate the pastry window and the space is decorated so nicely! Only word of caution is the parking, there's not a lot of space in front so you might have to find street parking behind the building, especially once the other storefronts open.

I came to Janet's on a Saturday and it was super busy. I'm glad we were able to get a good parking spot cause almost all tables were taken when we arrived. We waited in the long line but it went pretty quickly. There wasn't a table at first for us but by the time we ordered thankfully we were able to snag a cozy seat on the bar near the espresso machine. For my drink, I ordered an iced honey sea salt latte which was so delicious-would definitely get this again! For my food, I got the boisin and caramelized onion egg sandwich which normally comes on a croissant but I requested the focaccia and it was amazing!! All the flavors melded together so well! For dessert we got a chocolate croissant which was so nice and flaky. Everything tasted great and my friend and I left so happy. The only thing I didn't get that I really wanted was a sourdough cinnamon roll that I saw on the pastries list but was out. I'll just have to go back to try it!:)

This place is literally SO CUTE!!! Went on a Saturday and surprisingly, it wasn't as packed as I was expecting. Super cute interior, although limited seating. Nicest staff but let's talk food. I got the egg and cheese croissant. It was delicious although i will say that's definitely not enough to satiate someone. Buttermilk pancakes, which were also good but really thin! The almond croissant which was incredibly delicious. I got their hot chai and that was good. My partner got their macchiato we were not expecting as it literally looked like a shot of espresso. Totally not what we were expecting. Anyway, it's a good place for brunch or lunch. I'm interested in returning to try some other things

Arrive on a Sunday ~0930 and it's packed. There is Parking available but it's very limited. Limited seating options. They have some booth seats, bar seats, dining table seats and outdoor dining seats. Ordered a large cappuccino, handmade pie (rotating) , and a camela sandwich. Cappuccino is spot on for flavor and milk design Handmade pie this time was an apple pie. Crumbled like a toasted pop tart! Very tasty Camela is an absolute banger! Has an olive tapenade, salami, prosciutto, Capocollo on focaccia slices. Definitely a winner of a sandwich! Very high praise for how precise the chefs and bakers were to create these treats. Wanted to try more of their baked goods but everything was sold out around 10am. Will be seeing me come back!

The current salmon toast with a sunny side egg on top. Iconic and incredible.

This is truly the best cafe and bakery in RVA. The staff? Phenomenal. The food? Life changing. The vibes? Perfection. If you haven't visited Janet's yet, you're missing out. Everything is a HIT. Things that I think don't go together, GO together here. My heart and stomach lives here. Things I would never try, I have her and fallen in love.

I'm good addition to the Forest Hill neighborhood. Nice little coffee shop selling basic coffees, pastries, and sandwiches. Not the best cup I've coffee in Richmond, but an amazing addition to the Forest Hill area, giving another walkable spot.

Avocado bowl hold the lentils. Delicious!

We were greeted by pleasant staff at checkout and our orders placed in a parchment type bag for take out. They also have seating inside. The pastries were just sweet enough without being overly sweet, which I like. The pistachio cream was a perfect compliment to the pecan encrusted pastry. The almond twist was both flaky and crunchy with the sliced almonds on top, and the strawberry shortcake had layers of real strawberries, whipped topping and yellow cake that was moist. All were fresh. All in all, a great place to stop by for a morning pastry treat and tea/coffee while in the area,
