Nik was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and made our visit even better! The burgers were absolutely delicious, and the fried mushrooms were a must-order. Great food and great service. We'll definitely be back! read more

Food was okay and service started off great. I'm rating a 2 because I guess after Karina saw her tip she snatched the card reading and stormed off. It's a burger joint love and you were huddled gabbing with your friends. If you are unhappy at Jake's, move around! And I apparently look like I don't have money as she stated she thought I "left" and skipped out on my bill. I went to the restroom but, of course she didn't see that gossiping in a group. read more

Let's talk about Jake's. First things first -- the service was amazing. My server, Charity, was attentive, personable, and just made the whole experience easy. No chasing her down. No awkward waits. Just smooth, professional service. The ambiance was on point too -- relaxed, comfortable, somewhere you can actually sit and enjoy your meal. Now to the star of the show: the KICKIN' CHICKEN FRIED BACON BURGER. Fresh double beef patties, Jake's hickory sauce, melted cheese, crisp lettuce, red onion, chipotle mayo -- and topped with two thick, deep-fried slices of chicken fried bacon. Let me pause right there. That bacon? Crispy, thick, and absolutely amazing. It complemented that burger perfectly. The texture alone was next level. Everything blended well. The poppy seed bun was different, but it worked. It held everything together without falling apart -- and that matters with a stacked burger like this. Now here's my honest transparency: the patty was a little overcooked for my liking. Not dry, but just a touch longer on the fire than I would have preferred. Dial that back slightly and this burger would be a full-on knockout. I also had the onion rings -- crispy, not greasy, solid choice. And let's not ignore the SPICY MANGORITA. Mi Campo Blanco, mango, jalapeño, lime, Tajín -- and yes, I had two. Smooth with a little kick, that sweet heat balance was working. If you like a margarita that flirts with spice but doesn't overpower you, this is it. Would I go back? Absolutely. Next time I'm trying the chicken fried steak. I'm a fan, and now I need to see what Jake's does with it. I know there are other locations along the way back to Austin -- I think I spotted one in Waco -- so that may be my next stop. Great service. Great vibe. Strong food with just a small tweak needed on cook time. I'll be back. read more

Should you find yourself in North Dallas and hankering for a chicken fried steak, allow me to recommend Jake's Burgers and Beers. A really good steak was the base, the coating was incredibly crunchy and packed with flavor. There was even a spicy heat that you don't typically find in one of these. The gravy is better than your grandma's and the onion rings were just as great. There's a 2nd bowl of gravy just outside the frame and I promise you that I dipped everything -steak, fries, rings, bread - until both bowls were gone. But the French fries steal the show - Wow, honestly some of the best fries I've had! The service is quick and friendly, prices are more than fair. I ordered the fries and they brought onion rings. But once I mentioned it, they have me a basket of fries. I was upcharged for the rings, but they were delicious and they more than corrected the mistake... just worth paying attention to your bill. However, you're definitely going to want to check this place out. read more

On my quest to find the best burger spot I decided to try here since they had some decent reviews. The burger was just okay, nothing to write home about and for whatever reason it was a wait even though there was nobody in the restaurant. Would probably go back to try other options one day read more

First time at Jake's on our way home from austin. Learned there's several locations that we can visit - which was great news after looking over their menu! Ryan was helping out on the floor and was SO friendly. And the manager, jim stopped by to check on us as well. My husband had the kick in chicken fried bacon burger and gave it two thumbs up! I have a gluten and dairy restriction and they took care of me - and my burger was great. We will definitely be visiting again. Love that Jakes is family owned! So friendly! read more

A laid back burger spot with reasonable prices! Started with a cocktail and draft beer! My cocktail was good, but nothing crazy memorable. Now the burger was filling and huge! Only could eat half with my side of fries in order to still walk out of there comfortably lol . Their fries were bomb! I love a good hand cut fry and these were perfectly crisp and went amazing with their house made ranch and spicy ranch ! We came in on a Monday night and it was empty in there! Service was friendly and prompt (but again no one was there lol ) I would come back for sure! read more

I don't really leave bad reviews but ... first time here and I m pretty disappointed, the fries are pretty bad, barely picked any good ones and the sandwich is very dry, all cheap bread, a small piece of ham and the cheese is not even melted, maybe because it's the 'fake' kinda cheese. The fact that I waited for a drink 20 minutes it doesn't even matter at this point. read more

I have been wanting to check this place out since I moved to Dallas/Addison two years ago and I FINALLY made it here yesterday for lunch. I was very impressed with the food and the service! I sat at the bar, and the bartender was lovely. She was very patient, friendly, and helpful with myself and the other customers. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger, fries, a chocolate shake, and an old fashioned. Everything was great! Seriously, everything! The burger was huge, and had great flavor! The fries were handcut and were really good. The shake was one of the best shakes I've had since moving to Dallas, for real! Also, it was served in the metal blender cup, which meant that I got a lot more than if it were served in an 8 oz. glass or cup. I appreciate that. My cocktail was well made and STRONG! Thanks girl! I feel so bad that I just now stopped into Jakes, but I'm so glad that I know about it now. I'll be back for sure! read more

Now, my better half and I have normally disagreed on burgers when it came to certain establishments. The burgers are bland over here, the burgers are too salty over there, blah blah blah. But one thing we always agreed on were the fries.....chili, cheddar, toppings, perfect fry, yada yada. Turns out Jakes is something we agreed on when it comes to burgers. Perfectly made and flavorful. As you can see by the pics, they are a good size and juicy. Got the Jalapeno cap burgers and buddy got a classic double cheeseburger. All were good. Buddy had his accompanied with sweet potato fries. Ordered a large cheddar fries which comes with chili, bacon and toppings, but she misheard and brought a small. Bummer! They were good but prefer them from a different burger place. Wings were crispy and sauced. Will definitely come back. Service could've been better, though there may have been a language barrier with the server. She was attentive but brought a couple of orders wrong. Clean and relaxed place to enjoy a burger. read more

I've eaten at Jake's off Midway and Beltway (across from The Londoner) many times, and it's always been a fun and friendly experience. Even though I don't usually partake in adult beverages, I like sitting at the bar because Jeff, the bartender, consistently provides excellent customer service. The food has been great with everything I've tried so far, and the atmosphere keeps me coming back. Jake's has definitely earned a regular in me, and I'll continue to go back. read more

Hear ye, hear ye, good folk of the realm! Gather 'round, for I bring tidings most favorable of a fine establishment where burgers dost sizzle and spirits dost flow like a merry river. 'Tis none other than Ye Olde Burger Joint, a veritable haven for both the famished traveler and the hearty reveler. Upon crossing the threshold, I was met by two fair maidens of the bar--dames of exceptional wit and hospitality. Their names, Jasmine and Chastity, shall be sung in the halls of my memory, for they tended to their craft with all the grace of courtly knights and the warmth of a roaring hearth. Lady Chastity, whose countenance shone brighter than a midsummer's morn, mixed potions most delectable, her flagons brimming with frothy ale and sweet mead that could bring cheer to the most sullen of souls. With a laugh as melodious as a bard's tune, she made all who gathered feel most welcome, as though in the hall of a noble lord. Dame Jasmine, swift of hand and sharp of tongue, didst artfully weave between patrons with schooners and platters held aloft as though she carried the treasures of Avalon. Her knowledge of the menu, from the juiciest of patties to the crispiest of fries, was akin to a sage's mastery of ancient tomes. Together, these ladies of the bar turned an ordinary eve into a festivity worthy of song. Verily, I say unto thee, the victuals were as splendid as the service--burgers so savory they might tempt even the king's royal taster to indulge twice o'er. So, let it be known across the land: seek out Ye Olde Burger Joint, and may Jasmine and Chastity grace thee with their noble care. Forsooth, thou shalt leave not as a mere patron, but as one who hath dined and drank in merry fellowship! Huzzah! read more

Very fun place. I enjoyed the diner counter, the sporty atmosphere and great service. The food was good but I think I need to try some other items. The sweet potato fries were like a carnival or funnel cake. My turkey burger was undercooked and seemed frozen not fresh, the okra was good with ranch. My friend liked his jalapeño burger. The water is seriously gross. read more

Arrived today after lunch crowd 1:15pm. 6-8 vehicles in the parking lot. Not busy with 2-3 at the bar and 2-3 tables occupied. Entered restaurant and seen by at least 4-5 employees, including what was likely the manager. Sat at the bar and waited for at least a greeting and drink order. Apparently we were off limits to other employees- not even a hello or welcome in. Bartender -Gaby H, finally appeared and despite seeing us - checked on an existing customer. That customer was kind enough to direct her to us. If alone I would have left and gone across the street to Rodeo Goat. Food came out reasonably fast. Good burger, fries and onion rings. Paid for two at just under $44.00 Left a generous $6 tip despite the slow service. Started going to Jake's-Flower Mound location years ago. Always good to great service- nice patio. This Midway location has been underwhelming since opening not too long ago. Rodeo Goat next time. read more

Not only was the food great, I got the patty melt, but the drinks (strawberry margarita) are good. Ryan, our server, was really attentive, answered our questions, and made some great recommendations. The restaurant was not very busy when I came, but it was clean, had great music playing, and just a laid back vibe. If you come here, you need to ask for Ryan, really top-notch service. read more

Bartender Ryan is the GOAT!! Some of the best service in Dallas!! He never made us feel neglected or ignored. Will continue to come back!

First off, the loaded cheese fries actually made my life. Our server was Jason greeted our table as soon as we walked in. His service was amazing + he reco'd the 48 Special .. which is honestly is the best burger I've had in Dallas. They are one the few places I've been that has perfect poppy seed buns.. love. Plus they put floaters on your drinks if asked. If you haven't been to Jake's yet, it's a low key classic. read more

The service with Jessika was very good and she was very attentive to us I ordered the margarita swirl and it was very good! I added the grand manier as a floater and do not regret my choice. The appetizer was bottle caps and pickle chips were very very good the batter for the chips and bottle caps are not too crunch and are perfectly seasoned. The ranch? Was to die for! Very quality buttermilk ranch. The burgers were so good! I had the hickory hot burger and my date had the jalapeño bottle cap burgers and we thoroughly enjoyed our burgers and the Jake fries were amazing! We will definitely be back! I enjoyed the environment and it was very welcoming; not your typical bar. Very family friendly inside but strong drinks! The patio can be used for more social events. Mike, April and Earl definitely also made us feel at home! Thank you for having us. read more
