We went to Jake's tonight to check out their burgers. We have been to Jake's when they were on McKinney Avenue and on Beltline Road in Addison. We enjoyed their burgers at both locations. Our first problem was when we asked for our burgers "pink" in the middle. We always have them pink in the middle at Sniffer's and Liberty Burger which serve great burgers. Our server said the manager said "no"to our request. Unless you are serving subpar beef, our request should have been honored. When we received our burgers, we understood the problem. The burger patty was sooo thin and tasteless, it seemed to be a frozen patty. It didn't hold a candle to the thickness and quality of Snuffer's and Liberty Burger. The price is comparable. The place is bright and clean and the service was great! I hope they will up their game on the quality of their burgers. We live in Addison and would look forward to a better quality burger. read more

I gave 3 stars because this place is so under staffed. I think Jeff is pretty much the most reliable server they are fortunate to have. Bless his heart, he was the only server on a Saturday night dinner. We were there from 6:30pm to 9:00 pm. The food was great, the service was as best as could be had with one server. By the time we left poor Jeff deserved a 2 hour paid break. Come on Jake's you have a Prime location, great food, you need more wait staff. read more

Saw the good reviews so we decided to give it a try. I got the classic double cheese burger. It was fine but I've had better at multiple other restaurants. My wife had the Cheddar Steer, a hickory sauced burger. They don't tell you on the menu that it's a double patty. She did not want that much so we took half of it home. Both burgers lacked dressing, hickory sauce and mustard. We asked and received some extra of each. We got queso and chips for an appetizer. Queso was good but only lukewarm. We also had a small order of regular fries. Nothing special there. While it was ok, there's no reason to come back because there are plenty of better options. read more

Came over on Saturday for lunch. We had the classic nachos, which were wonderful! Also had Jake's special burger (w/thousand island) and iced tea. Like before, I had an awesome experience. Our waitress today was Jewel who was being trained by Gaby. Both were awesome. Definitely ready for another visit soon!! read more

Peter was probably the best server we've had in years. He was knowledgeable about the menu, responsive, quick to get drink refills, made great suggestions, and was there when we needed him but not when we didn't. Highly recommend this place and ask for Peter! read more

I got the mushroom Swiss burger, the food was flavorless. The mushrooms were obviously out of a can. The service was subpar when I was asked how my food was and I said eh it's all right. There was zero concern about how it could be better or anything she just said OK and walked off. I personally will not be going back for overprice, bland food, and if the restaurant comes up in conversations with friends and random people, I will strongly suggest that they avoid this restaurant as well. read more

Overall I must say I'm very disappointed. I went to the Jake's off of skillman a year or two ago and the food did not disappoint. However at the Jake's in Addison I had the opposite of this experience. The food was cold my server, Peter, smelled like straight cigarettes and like he hadn't wiped after pooping for years. The atmosphere was artificial. Everything looked brand new but somehow everything looked dirty and covered in dust. I came in at noon on a Monday which should be peak lunch time however I was the only one in the joint! The manager with burns on his face was staring at me the whole time and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I will never be coming back to Jake's ever again after this horrific experience and I would advise the same thing to everyone else reading this. read more

I haven't been to Jake's since they closed they their old Plano location. I wish I had kept it that way. Our less than attentive bartender was the best part of our visit. I had the lackluster bacon blue burger that had so little flavor that it's hard to believe they could accomplish such a thing. Their idea of blue cheese is in just putting salad dressing on the burger. My friend had chicken fried steak and said it wasn't any better. After half of it, he just decided it wasn't worth it to continue. Disappointing is an understatement, and I am sorry they have taken such a turn for the worse. There are too many alternatives to waste good money on these meals. Hopefully, there are other menu options that might be better choices, but for me, it's one and done. read more

The food here is actually really good and the service we have gotten here in the past has been amazing. However today not so much. I called ahead to confirm they would be showing the NFL games we were wanting to watch and I was assured they had the games. We live 30 minutes away so if they did not show the games we would have chose somewhere different to eat on football Sunday. We got there and the waiter was very rude to my son and I. The hostess told me to let the waiter know about the game we were trying to watch and said he would change it for us. When I asked him to put it on for us he rudely snapped and said they didn't have that game. I let him know I called ahead to confirm and was assured you carry all the games and he said "I SAID WE DON'T HAVE IT. Now are you getting drinks or what?" He barked this at me and I don't appreciate being talked to in that way especially after we were inconvenienced based on information we had got from the restaurant itself. We always go somewhere to watch the games as my husband and I root for different teams. My husband was very upset when he found out we made the drive for no reason and especially about how the waiter spoke to me so we didn't choose to stay. We called to confirm prior for this very reason so we wouldn't have wasted a trip. I have loved this place in the past so I'm disappointed and doubt we will ever return now because I don't want to be disrespected again. Please don't hire staff who are so rude to people when they have to deal with them on a frequent basis. It's a shame because your food is very good but no one wants to eat at a place where the customer is treated this poorly. read more
