This restaurant seems to be in the most unlikely place! As a matter of fact, there are 3 billboards covering the front (?). Great shabu shabu ( hot pot). So glad they added this in the menu. We had half miso broth n half kimchi broth. The veggies went in first then once everything was heated we added the meat. Love this. I shared the hot pot with my family and it was unforgettable. We chose the ribeye with a chicken broth base, and it was rich, flavorful, and comforting in the best way. The vegetables that came with it were so fresh and added the perfect balance. Absolute chef's kiss. We also added squid and shrimp, which made the meal even more special. From the outside you might not expect much, but this place is a true hidden gem. Inside, everything comes together: the food, the ambience, and the service. I had an impromptu dinner at Jae's 7 Winter on a very cold Saturday evening. Many places were closing early on Christmas Eve including this place which was planning to close their kitchen early. I stopped by just before 4pm and the place wasn't busy. I had the choice to sit in the bar or dining room and I decided to be seated at a very comfortable booth. The atmosphere is pretty classic, slightly upscale, but still casual here. The lighting in the dining room is a bit dim and overhanging lights above each booth. There were also wine bottles lined up across some of the booths separating the bar area. They started playing light background music too. The bar menu is currently offered here which includes a mixed variety of appetizers, salads, soups, basil pesto pizza, grilled cheese sandwich, burgers (veggie or beef patty), mac & cheese, pasta dishes, seafood, angus flatiron steak, and a few desserts (cannoli, pumpkin flan, rice pudding). The prices are moderate, most items $12-$28. The menus at their other restaurant in the Hilton Garden Inn also offers sushi, poke bowls, and Asian fusion dishes as well as traditional breakfast fare. After I was seated, the server arrived quickly to recite the specials offered and brought out some ice water. I quickly decided what I wanted as the server was standing nearby. I ordered an appetizer and a pasta dish to be brought out at the same time. My food arrived to my table in about 10 minutes. The Crispy Smelt ($12 plus tax) consisted a six deep fried smelts in olive oil over watercress and a tangy lemon aioli dressing. The Bolognese pasta ($21 plus tax) was comprised of soft cooked pappardelle noodles in a zesty bolognese sauce with rustic beef, tomatoes, vegetables, carrots and parmesan cheese. I finished the smelts appetizer, but I requested a box for much of the bolognese pasta so I can enjoy later on. I passed on the dessert offer since I already had cupcakes earlier. The check was $35.31 with tax and before tip. Overall, I was surprised to get tasty food with good presentation and prompt service. I will keep this restaurant on my rotation as the menu hopefully evolves. read more

The food was great. I had the teriyaki scallops and my wife had 3 rolls. We got veggie dumplings and half priced oysters for appetizers. Both were good. Oysters were fresh and shucked perfectly. No shell bits after shucking. My first beer was skunked. I sent it back the 2nd was much better. My wife had Prosecco and she liked it. Service was friendly. He was getting overwhelmed as more people came in but someone from the back of the house came to assist with clearing tables and getting our check. I'd stop by here again for date night. read more

I would give 10 stars if possible! Jae's on winter has a great menu with endless options. I have been 3 times in a 2 week span, gotten something different every time and it is always delicious. From the cocktails to the starters to entrees and dessert. This is 5 star authentic cuisine! The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about their dishes. I highly recommend the pork gyoza, coffeetini cocktail, and the wonton soup!! Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with any of the menu offerings. Like the other Jae's, they have a great bento box lunch special- with different options. Husband had shrimp and scallops, I had bellogi beef. Both were delicious and beautifully presented. I really wanted to like this place. Cozy upscale steakhouse-like decor. Kind and attentive service. But the food - although pretty - was a let down. The Thai curry dish was fine. But the other dishes seemed as if the chef relies too much on the deep fryer: chive cake? Make it ahead of time then cut it into triangles and deep fry it. Special duck dish? Deep fry the duck so it is too hard to eat. And decorate it with deep fried basil leaves thet are pretty but taste bad. read more

Order a Manhattan - oh, sorry, we're out of Vermouth. Order an appetizer - oh sorry, we're out of that. Order entree - oh yeah, we're out of that too. At the end, the waiter asked us if we wanted dessert. He offered 4 options. We chose. Waiter comes back & says " we're out of dessert" (like, Every dessert). There is absolutely NOTHING good to say about this place. I've given it several chances to find its footing but at this point they are completely flailing. The menu has been changed at least 6 times since it opened in this space a little over a year ago. Now, it's just the Jae's menu from his other restaurants. They have tried EVERYTHING and it's time to pack it in, admit the space is way too big and in a horrible location. Last night was the third time I ordered multiple things where the waiter came back to the table to say they were out of whatever menu item I asked for. The last time I was there literally 1/3 of the very limited menu wasn't available. Last night with only 2 other tables our server disappeared and I had to go to the bar myself for a glass of water and wine. The food is just dreadful. My husband and 9 month old daughter just dined there and it was really good! We got there at 4 so it wasn't crowded which is perfect for us. I ordered the chop salad to start and he ordered the scallop appetizer, the salad was a nice size I took half home and the scallop app was cooked well. For entrees I got the beef carpaccio appetizer and a side of asparagus and he got the lobster fried rice. Everything was timed perfectly with us finishing our apps and the food was amazing. The fried rice was huge and the carpaccio was good I would just say that the wasabi aioli could've been a little stronger it pretty much tasted like plain mayo. Upscale (special occasion dining, hmmm?) , elegant yet warm and cozy space (romanic date night anyone?) with a raw bar and a pretty good menu of premiere steaks (for you meat eaters), seafood (Salmon two ways, Chilean Sea Bass) and an inventive pasta and rice section (Black Ink Ink Pasta w/fresh crab meat, but staples too like Linguini with Clam Sauce and Shrimp Scampi). Not inexpensive, but well worth the splurge. Even better -especially for breakfast food lovers like me: BRUNCH!!! ... which is really hard to find in the Berkshires! And a fabulous brunch menu with all the familiar mouth-watering offerings you expect from a NY brunch (and a darned good Bloody Mary, with bacon and a generous, well seasoned, succulent shrimp!!). This was the worst dinner and service we've ever had. We arrived at 6:30 pm Sunday and were the only patrons in the restaurant. After the hostess seated us, we sat there for 10 minutes with no one coming by to take our drink order. I went into the bar to ask for a server. The bartendress came to our table and said she was busy making a drink. I saw that she had 3 people in the bar, so not very busy. We ordered appetizers (Clams Casino and Lobster Dumplings) and they ended up being the best part of the meal. Then we waited 20 minutes and my dinner companion had to go into the bar and ask if they were interested in taking our entree orders. When we were finally served dinner - what a disappointment! I ordered dry-aged ribeye steak medium rare. It came to the table soggy and rare. My companion ordered lamb chops and they were mediocre at best. When the bartendress came back to give us the check, she asked how everything was. We told her not so good and she promptly turned around and scurried away. I guess not a fan of constructive criticism. The one bright spot was the hostess - she was very friendly and paid us more attention than the bartendress/server.
