3.5 star place, but I'll bump to 4. I came here after all the restaurants in Williamstown lost electricity from a storm. The AYCE shrimp and (old-school looking) salad bar were bonuses. The beef stroganoff were rich and flavorful, with tender beef. I could go for that again. The baked stuffed haddock was okay, though abundant. Service was friendly but rather slow. The live music was a nice local touch. The interior, however, is worn and definitely not exactly attractive. I'm not looking for a city lounge, but it could use a bit of a renewal. Food came out cold, the waitress was more about the two other guys working. She was not very nice to add to it and the smell of the place smelt horrid. The buffet for the salad bar, was gross and a mess, not well maintained. It seemed run down and more like a horror scene. Going here is like stepping back in time. That is not necessarily a bad thing. Just know what to expect. Here is my experience. It is Saturday night in October (off-season) at 7:30. The parking lot had a few cars in it. We opened the door and the title music to Streets of Philadelphia (1993) was playing on the speakers. The lounge was dark. We became the only people in the dining room. The menu had traditional fare. Steak tips. Burgers. Various kind of chicken. And, lo and behold, an unlimited salad bar. The server was friendly and responsive. She even brought us bottle of water, an extra star for that. The salad bar was excellent. The items fresh and the variety of vegetables good. There was unlimited shrimp and a basket of hot rolls. A flavorful start. The main course lived up to the restaurant name, the food was bountiful. My wife's eggplant parmigiana with pasta was overflowing the plate. She said it was tasty. I had chicken in raspberry sauce, which was a little sweet for my palate, but of good quality. The vegetable side dish was overcooked and tasted like it was out of a bag. So, big pluses for the salad bar, quantity of food, quality of the main course, and attentive service. read more

We are recent new residents in Adams and have been searching for a local restaurant that is suitable for a family. The Bounti-Fare has quickly become our favorite. The food is reasonably priced, American fare and they happily tolerate our toddler who likes to wander. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The salad bar is well stocked with fresh items. The rotating soups have all been excellent. I am always in search of good French Onion soup and theirs is excellent. A rich dark broth with onions that have simmered until they melt in your mouth. Lots of cheese and croutons on top served up piping hot. This is the kind of locals restaurant where people say hello, chat with visitors and make you feel like you are at a large family reunion. Live music three nights a week in the lounge/bar is at a good volume. A super deal, that seems to be a bit of a secret, is the Wednesday $12 Burger and Beer offering. Unlike most places that offer similar deals the Bounti-Fare gives you a choice of some good craft beers on tap, well as the mega-swill choices. The burgers are large and come with a wide choice of toppings. You get your choice of sides as well. Our favorite entree so far was the Black Diamond steak tips with a baked potato. A generous portion but be prepared to defend your plate from others in your party who did not order them but were lured by the aroma of the peppers and onions they are grilled with. read more

So, I have posted before about how the waitstaff at Bounty-Fare, located just on the other side of Adams, MA (they are in NORTH Adams) had the 'job', way-back-when, of trying to crystalize the sugar topping of creme brulee. You know, by using a butane flame to make the sugar topping brittle like glass? The FIVE TIMES (it got to be my little game, so-to-speak, after the third fail - lol!) I ordered the thing resulted in NONE of the proper results expected. When asked why they are not shown how to PROPERLY do this small task, no one had a reasonable response. I could NEVER get a straight answer why the chef did not do the deed. The last time before giving-up was ME bringing in a small bowl of the dessert and demonstrating HOW to flame the friggin' thing, ending-up with a nice brittle topping! The past owner was not pleased. GOOD NEWS! Last night, when I went there to have a meal (NEW OWNERS!), I discovered the above mentioned dessert is OFF THE MENU!!! YAAAAY!!! lol What I ordered for my meal was Sirloin Steak with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. I opted for the Broccoli Soup instead of the salad bar, which was the best part of the meal. I have attached a photo of all the gristle I encountered off of what THEY call a Sirloin Steak. People, I am an "Old-fart" in my seventies, NOT a kid in his twenties or thirties, and I HAVE been "around the block" a time or two regarding the different cuts of meat. I KNOW WHAT GOOD MEAT IS! This piece of meat had very little flavor. Just about ALL of the pieces I cut off to chew had some amount of gristle... very CHEWY. I did not enjoy the experience at all. If not for the "A1 Steak Sauce", I would not have eaten what I did. The mixed veggies could have been cooked longer, although the pieces of squash were pretty good. But the small carrots were WAY too hard for my taste. EITHER COOK THEM THROUGH, OR JUST SERVE THEM RAW. The string beans, while lacking flavor, were 'okay'. Oh, and the mashed potatoes had way too many lumps to suit my taste. Remember, I AM a finicky "Old-fart". hee hee Finally, I guess this restaurant has decided to THROW OUT the notion of keeping their folk a 'safe' distance regarding our pandemic. After I had been sitting for about five minutes, in comes a family of four_ Mom, Dad, other male, and a two-year-old. They are seated RIGHT behind me, kid coughing all over the place. They were about four feet behind me. While checking out, I mentioned this and the response was something like, "Well, what-are-ya gonna do, ya know?" I said perhaps arrange the seating keeping folks a bit more separated? The response was like I was speaking a foreign language or something. MY EXPERIENCE WAS NOT PLEASANT. The ONLY reason for a two-star review rating is the fact that my waiter was GREAT! He might be the owner or manager_ not sure, but he was telling others what to do. Even though it was VERY obvious to me that he was acting in a purely perfunctory manner, I still liked his small patter to his charges. When standing waiting to get out and go home, there was a young waiter (I think) taking FOREVER to enter an order at the ONLY register for meals. I usually am not very impatient, but this guy took five minutes, JUST to SLOWLY enter the order. Even two of the other staff people, standing there, were smiling about his SLOW efforts. When I looked at my waiter, also standing there, and said something how I'd like to go home now... with a smile... his response was something like they only have the ONE register. SUGGESTION HERE! Why not spend the money for a SECOND register (plenty of space on the counter), using one ONLY for checking guest out? I will caution others to find someplace else to spend their money, ESPECIALLY if they are cautious regarding their health. Covid is STILL out there, y'all. But this restaurant doesn't seem to care_ AT ALL, regarding keeping people spaced apart. read more

What a great unassuming place for dinner. I'm glad I read the reviews online! My wife and I had dinner here the other night and walked away very satisfied. My wife had the Filet Mignon with 2 baked stuffed shrimp on the side. The beef was excellent and the shrimp, while I've seen larger, were very tasty according to my wife. I had the steak tips with the black diamond sauce on them and a side of baked scallops. My beef was done just the way I asked for them and the scallops melted in my mouth. The wait staff was great. I have a habit of reading other's reviews before posting my own...for no other reason then a bit of entertainment. I understand the Importance of a hot cup of coffee after your meal, but if that's what BLOWS you day, well, you need to cast your net a little wider. We've had 2 dinners at Bounty as a couple, and hosted Thanksgiving 2022, and had a PERFECTLY wonderful Graduation celebration this weekend. I can not say enough good things about the staff, and the food. I've never encountered rudeness, or a cold cup of coffee. I find this Restaurant a welcoming, and warm place. Outdated, yup...but, the food, the staff far overshadow this..If upscale is your "thing" keep looking. If a hot cup of coffee is a worry, there's 3, or more D n D down the road. But, if GOOD FOOD, and A PLEASANT staff are your requirements...Stop at Bounty Fare. read more

This place has great food, great staff and a decent menu to choose from. I love me some steak tips in bourbon sauce, and they always make it extra fantastic, and I swear they use extra love in these tasty meat morsels of goodness with that phenomenal sauce. Quaint little restaurant with a dark bar. The menu has lots of choices. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive to our group of four. The questions were answered and the suggestions were offered. The drinks were very tasty and refreshing. The food was very tasty and hot and fresh. The atmosphere could use a little updating out if the seventies but it was a nice quiet place to have a celebratory dinner. The salad bar was very chilled and fresh the rolls were soft and delicious. To top off our visit we all tried a different dessert. The cheesecake was delightful, the hot fudge brownie sundae was da bomb :) Nice for private little dinner where you can talk to your friends and catch up. read more

What a wonderful group of people. It is a crying shame that businesses like these are being harmed by this FAKE PANDEMIC that we are going through. I ate there a few days ago and had a wonderful meal outside on their lovely patio. It was so slow that my waitress, Allie, was able to spend more time than I expected, which was greatly appreciated by this old codger. I live alone and find this shutdown to be nothing less than EVIL! Once again my family had our post-funeral luncheon at Bounti-Fare. From what feedback I received, as well as what I personally experienced, everyone was very satisfied. The chicken parm was very good. The sauce for pasta was tasty. I could really go for some of the Caesar salad right now. The rest of the food was also plentiful and satisfying. Ok place to eat. Definitely an older crowd. If you have children they stick you off to the side behind the waiters, that's completely fine with me because if I didn't have children I wouldn't want to hear them. We decided to try they bbq ribs. I especially appreciated the small and simple salad bar with very fresh offerings (including shrimp!). We have had large parties there and always they have excellent service and food. We don't care about the 70's old style look other reviewers comment on, as in the end we get a fabulous meal/party, a great time, and I know I can count on Dave to deliver on parties. This weekend we went there for their seafood alfredo, and asked for scallops instead of shrimp, and they were happy to accomodate me. My boyfriend got the steak tips marinated in bbq sauce and said they were excellent, along withh the smashed potatoes, delcious turnip, and all you can eat salad bar with shrimp, no one will go away hungry. I had pumpkin cheesecake and my boyfriend had a chocolate dessert he said it was superb!! The prices were appropriate, and we will be going back for another date night! Can't wait!!! :):) read more
