zucchini's food is great. The ambiance is very pleasant. The problem exists because my wife and I are both seniors and handicap. We can park but we no longer can climb the steps. There is a ramp on the side leading to the bar and going into the restaurant. We can not park in the back and get to the ramp. Neither of us can let one person go in, then park and walk those steps. As a result, we can no longer go to Zucchini's. A real shame! read more

The service was lovely and we ordered a selection of appetizers to share. We got the eggplant tower, the arugula salad and the mushroom and zucchini pizza. While all was tasty, the eggplant tower and pizza were room temperature when served. The restaurant upstairs wasn't super busy but there was a party downstairs which may have slowed the serve time. Most of the staff are wonderful and location is great. I have been a regular customer for the past few years and have given this restaurant many chances because the food is generally good. Unfortunately, the way management handles pricing and customer concerns has become very disappointing, The issue is not with all the staff. Many of them provide very good service. However, there have also been times when service at the bar has felt rushed or dismissive, particularly on weekend evenings when one bartender appears more focused on closing customers out early than allowing regulars to enjoy their meal or drinks without being tabbed out before requesting such. That kind of experience, combined with the pricing issue, makes loyal customers feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. The bigger issue is the repeated nickel-and-diming of regular customers. Most recently, I ordered a small pizza that was half cheese, and half mushroom, onion and sausage. I was charged the full topping price price for each of the three toppings as though the toppings had been placed on the entire pizza, even though they were only on half. On top of that, I was charged an additional fee because the other half was plain cheese-even though a cheese pizza is already base pizza. That kind of pricing is hard to justify and makes the regular customer feel like every small variation is treated as an opportunity to add another charge. When I first questioned the charge, the bartender's response was essentially "this is how it rings up in the register". That did not address the concern. a register entry does not make an unreasonable charge reasonable, and pricing can be adjusted when something clearly does not make sense. I then attempted to raise the issue with the owner and was directed to the manager. When I spoke with the manager, the response still felt defensive rather than customer-focused. I was eventually handed $2 and told, in substance, that because I was a regular customer, they did not want me to be upset. The way it was handled made it feel as though I was the one being difficult over a few dollars. That misses the point. The issue is not the $2. The issue is that regular customers should not feel like every order is an opportunity to squeeze out another charge. Regular customers notice when small charges do not seem reasonable or transparent. This was not an isolated concern. On Mother's Day, we came in expecting the regular dinner menu after being told dinner would be available. Instead, we were given a holiday menu with options selected from the regular menu at higher prices - around $7 to $8 more per entree - without anything extra included. On another visit, we were told there would be a $4 charge for extra bread, which also felt excessive. I understand restaurant's have costs, and I do not expect anything for free. But there is a difference between fair pricing and making loyal customers feel taken advantage of. When a regular customer raises a reasonable concern, it should be handled with professionalism, not defensiveness. This restaurant has good food, a great location, and some very good staff. But management's pricing practices and response to customer concerns have changed my view of this restaurant. After years of regular patronage, I walked away feeling like the loyalty of regular customers are treated like another revenue opportunity. read more

The food was surprisingly much more delicious than I expected. I can't wait to return to try everything on this menu. My salmon was cooked to perfection with a variety of fresh vegetables. My husband have pork Saltimbocca, my brother in law had beef bourguignon, my sister in law had Veal Marsala. They will accommodate Gluten dishes and the waiter gave an excellent list. Crème brûlée was delicious. Salad was cold and came with our meal. Prices were very reasonable and I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. Highly recommended. read more

We celebrated our father's 95th birthday at Zucchini's last night. From start to finish, every element of every dish was spot on! The restaurant was busy, but not loud. We could comfortably talk and enjoy each other's company. The staff were friendly and professional all around. The place was clean and comfortable. The appetizers, roasted carrots and snow peas with a lovely garlic aioli, PEI muscles, and chicken wings were all cooked to perfection. The bread was a warm crusty delight. Salad with house dressing, a bold delight of white balsamic affair, that I could not stop eating! I had the special, homemade ricotta cavatelli with andouille sausage, and seared shrimp. Perfectly seasoned, the cavatelli was cooked just right. Beautiful texture, amazing flavor. The dessert menu is wonderful. My favorite, crème brûlée was like silk. Perfectly studded with fresh vanilla bean. A delightful lace cookie, with the most sweet and tender raspberries I have ever tasted. The entire affair was fabulous! As I looked around the table I saw my family enjoying every bite of their meals. Conversation was often peppered with sounds of delight at the next terrific bite of food. From steak to seafood to pasta, then warm brownies to crème brûlée to a simple scoop of ice cream, the entire experience was a joy filled ballet of delightful food and loving company. This place is great! Friendly staff, fast service and amazing food. Appetizer of eggplant was fantastic. (Picture below) Salads fresh and dressing of white balsamic was delicious. Bread is tasty and warm. Had cocktails and wine. Lavender Lemonade vodka drink is delicious and made well. Red blend wine was good and not over priced. We ordered Rigatoni with sausage in a cream red sauce with peas, I had cavateppi pasta with bolognese sauce and meatballs. Sausage has some kick, pasta was good and cooked just about right. This place is great! Friendly staff and fantastic food. After a day of hiking around and up Greylock (and after we cleaned up), we decided to try here while en route - made a U-ey - to a local gastropub/tavern. The Italian food craving hit as we drove past the restaurant in the dark, so we had to turn around. So glad we stopped here! Everyone was welcoming. Restaurant was warm and cozy. All the food was amazing. We started with the Eggplant Stack, which was really good - crisp and flavorful. Great presentation, too. We also had Zucchini's House salad. Pretty standard, no issues. The Roasted Garlic (with sausage added) pizza was fantastic. They definitely did not skimp on the roasted garlic or sausage! Lasagna was great, but I wish it had a bit more sauce. Finally, we ended with the tiramisu, which was probably one of the best I've had in a long time. A last minute change resulted in a great night. This place can definitely compete with the famed North End. Will return when I'm back in Berkshire County / Western Mass. read more

We did not dine in but ordered our food to go about 9 months ago as we were staying in a nearby RV park while waiting to close on our new home and it was excellent. It was a bit of a risk as we were new to the area and eating out over the prior few months had gotten to be expensive. The portions were large enough to feed our family of six and at a good price. Vacationing in the area, and decided to try here. So glad we did, the food was delicious & the service was great. We started off with the fried zucchini appetizer, which was so good. My wife had the Pizza Verdue (Pesto,Mozzarella, Roasted Red Peppers, Caramelized Onions, Roasted Zucchini, Arugula) & I had the Lasagna, then split a wonderful Strawberry Shortcake for dessert. Meh. We've been to Zucchini's probably four times in the last year, almost always on Saturday evenings. Tonight was no different. While the food is fine, the kitchen is clearly overwhelmed when the restaurant is full. We arrived this evening at about 7:15pm. Our server took a solid 5 minutes even to stop by to ask for drink orders. Since we were with our three year-old, we ordered salads and mains immediately. The first course arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but we weren't served our mains until close to 8:15pm. And for whatever reason, four entrees arrived together but one guest's pizza took another 8 to 10 minutes. By the time her pizza arrived, the rest of us were almost done with our entrees. We skipped desert because by 8:45pm, the little one was antsy. And we all commented to each other that we've got to stop coming on Saturdays because the kitchen is always is too slow. I'd say that if the entrees were about, on average, $4 or $5 less expensive, and if they could match kitchen capacity with the number of diners, this place would be a terrific family restaurant. At $22 to $26 for meat entrees, and the slow kitchen speed, I'm afraid Zucchini's isn't on our list any longer. read more

Arrived late on a Saturday night, around 9. There were only 3 other tables seated at this time. The establishment is very large. The waitress was very pleasant. The food was very tasty, if a little pricey. The calamari and chicken marsala were excellent . However, my party, consisting of two middle aged adults with two young children were seated directly next to three young men who were "out for a night on the town". I spent half the meal trying to drown out their very loud overtly sexual conversations. The wait staff and management seemed to understand what was going on and took no action. If somehow they did not know that in a practically empty dining room the loud, nonstop profanity needed to be addressed, then their management needs a few lessons in hospitality. read more

Thank You to Zucchini's for being open on Thanksgiving. Our meals were fantastic. We had the Apple Butternut Bisque, the Turkey Dinner and Apple Crisp. Every bite was perfect. Turkey was so moist..even the parts without gravy. Stuffing was like homemade. The apple crisp came with vanilla bean ice cream that was the best we have ever had. I wondered if they made it there. And lets not forget...our waitress was Sage and she was welcoming, attentive, and efficient. This was just a perfect experience from start to finish. We hope the restaurant will be open again next Thanksgiving. read more
