This is a very quaint and antique-ish restaurant which makes you feel like you're in your living room. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer and they were very good. I had the New York strip with lobster. Unfortunately the steak was a bit dry and tough (I oredered it medium). But the lobster was great, served in a little bowl already peeled with butter and ready to eat! It seems my meal may have been sitting for a while. Way too much mashed potatoes and green beans! I could barely cut the steak because the plate was so full. The hubby ordered the mussel puttanesca which he LOVED. The sauce was delicious and it was nice and hot. For dessert we had the brownie with chocolate ice-cream. Brownie was nice and warm. Server was friendly. Their bar has limited options so don't expect anything too fancy! read more

We had a visit Saturday evening on the way home from North Adams. The temperature outside was subzero and unfortunately inside the restaurant was similar. Apparently the heating system was not functioning. We ordered a bottled domestic beer and a specialty cocktail. My beer was opened and the entire neck overflowed into the coaster. Despite 2 ounces being spilled I was not offered a fresh beer. The wet bottled was not wiped down and with no napkins, drops fell with my first few sips. The specialty cosmo had a substitute vodka as the bar was out of the particular flavored vodka listed in the menu. Despite these initials concerns we ordered food. I asked the server about specials and she replied with two portions of prime rib. Later come to hear there was no prime rib due to the facility issue mentioned earlier. My friend seemed pleased with the French onion soup. My burger was lacking in flavor, the main topping,mushrooms, and overcooked. With its unique decor and comfy seats, 6 House Pub felt like stepping into grandma's house... in the nicest way possible. Swapping out the typical restaurant seating, we got cozy on arm chairs. She saw chicken parm on the menu and the choice was made. His eyes fell on the fettuccine Alfredo and he was sold. The chicken was fresh, the pasta was cooked to perfection, and the garlic bread was heavenly. We could not forget our starter - loaded potato skins - which was most certainly the odd man out in this scenario. Even still, they were delicious. The potato was seasoned just right with a generous amount of bacon bits and cheese adorning the pieces. All in all, if you're ever in the Williamstown, MA area, check them out. read more

I came here to meet an old friend who was in town. Whom I haven't seen in 8 years. This place was perfect for us to reconnect. Such a cool atmosphere and the food was amazing. I just deducted a star bc the menu said all natural house fries and I thought that meant hand cut fries which are my FAVORITE! Unfortunately it was not. But other than that everything was great. Went early (5:15 pm) with my senior mom. She had called in a reservation but they said they couldn't find it. Even though there was only one other party there, they tried to give us a crummy small table. We had to ask twice to get a nicer one. The place was still half empty when we left so it wasn't like they were hurting for tables. The bread basket is $5, but they were described as "artisan rolls," so we ordered them. We both ordered the prime rib, and when they said the vegetable was steamed carrots (yawn), we asked if we could sub a side salad for them and were told yes. Well, the rolls were... just small rolls with sesame seeds, not worth $1.25 a pop for four IMHO and we had to ask for bread plates! The prime rib was fine, it was served with au jus, no horseradish or anything. It was a modest scoop of potatoes. The side salad that we'd subbed in for carrots (yawn) was nice, but we were charged six dollars extra for each! That was a surprise. Not sure I'd go back TBH, especially given all the added costs for things that generally are included with a $28 steak dinner for free. read more

Well, in a nut shell, that's how we decided to spend an hour that we had available to us after attending a performance at the Williamstown Theater Festival and our dinner reservation at a local restaurant. But to complicate things further, the restaurant where dinner was planned would not be opening for an hour. Solution? Drink somewhere else. And that's how we ended up at The '6 House Pub, adjacent to the 1896 House Inn. It was a beautiful warm day so six of us got our drinks from the bartender and took them outside to their patio to enjoy. They had some interesting craft drafts among the eight taps, four of which I had never had or even heard of - Citradelic Tangerine IPA from New Belgium Brewing; Stony Creek Cranky IPA; UFO's Huckleberry Hefeweizen; and Collective Arts' Ransack the Universe IPA. They all had very artistic draft handles, but I decided to stay more local with the Berkshire Brewing's Drayman's Porter. My wife had a Rendezvous Martini with vodka, brandy, Grand Marnier, and Chambord. The bartender was welcoming and quick to serve us. We enjoyed our drinks, then drove across the street to our dinner location. The atmosphere inside the pub looked very Early-American-inviting and worth returning to for more grog and to try their vittles. read more

Here last night for the first time with friends. First let me say to ignore most reviews and experience your time there yourself. You would miss too much. Also not showing my dinner pix here on bottom of review, but the pictures are there under food. Don't miss them!! Our time there was perfect. Walked in (had 7pm reservations and within 2 minutes, our server KENNEDY was there. She was great. Very professional, personable, helpful with the menu selections, good sense of humor. We all enjoyed her. She was right on top of things. THANKS AGAIN KENNEDY! Appreciated all the "Splenda trips". LOL The WEDGE SALAD under the side salad page for $8 was great!!! It did feed the four of us. I had the LOBSTER RAVIOLI which trust me, was the BEST I ever had, and for only $23 under the DINNER SPECIALS page. The ravioli's were STUFFED with lobster. Never saw them busting. The peppers and lobster mix of sauce and veggies was incredible. I made the right choice. My wife had the Black Raspberry Chicken which once was their signature dish. VG! But a little on the sweet side. Another great dish. As was the Boston Baked Scrod. The Lobster Mac n' Cheese was also memorable. If no lobster ravioli, this is a great second choice. There wasn't any room for dessert. I posted pix and a picture of us. I am telling you, very generous portions at very reasonable prices!! Ignore the bad reviews. It was their experience, not yours. We stopped at the '6 House Pub on our way to a reading for the Williamstown Theatre Festival. I've been passing it on my way to Williamstown for years and we had about an hour for dinner. The service was very friendly, but very slow. There were about four other people in the entire restaurant when we arrived, so I was very surprised that it took 40 minutes for our food. When the food did finally arrive, though, it was delicious. I had a $23 steak salad, with the steak cooked to perfection and some surprisingly good ranch dressing (I'll be honest, I hate 90% of ranch dressings). My dining companion had a turkey burger that she said was the best turkey burger she's ever had. On food alone, I'd have given this five stars. Would I go back? Yes, if I were having a lazy day and didn't need to be anywhere after. I was hoping that this could be my go-to food stop en route to Williamstown, but the slow service (which I'm also seeing mentioned in other reviews, so I'm guessing it wasn't an off day where someone called out) will keep me from making it a regular thing. read more

I have been to the 6 House Pub several times in the past year and have enjoyed the atmosphere and food each time. The service was a little slow, but I'd rather have a slower pace rather than being rushed out. This last time was really disappointing. Our waitress was neither friendly or very helpful. I asked if the Nacho appetizer was enough for 4, I was told "It depends on how much you want to eat, but you can order another one if it's not enough." My daughter ordered the Seafood Pasta and the mussels were gross and the pasta tasted funny. When we mentioned it to the waitress, we get this blank stare, and then said she'd talk to the chef. She came back saying that it was the same chef who always made it, with no offer for a replacement dish. She then offered a 20% discount ($4.20) on just her meal. My fried fish was over cooked, but the other meals were fine. We weren't even asked if we were interested in coffee or dessert. I know you can't hit a home run every time, but for what they charge, I expected a little better service. read more

We were quoted a 30 minute wait, got some beers and sat in their gorgeous courtyard. We waited an hour, no biggie....we were enjoying the atmosphere and the company. BONUS: they had a fire going outside! Nice touch! Once inside we ordered burgers and soup. We waited another hour, which seems unnecessary. I had the bison beget with jalapeno and pineapple. We decided to give this place another try after a previously horrible experience. We were seated on time with our reservation, but then sat there completely ignored for 20 min while people around us were seated and served. When we asked a waitress walking by she said she would "check on it" and then waited on a different table a few minutes later. When the patrons pointed out that we were there first she said "they have a different waitress" and proceeded with their order. We left and will NEVER be back. We stayed at the 1896 House B & B and ate at the'6 House Pub! The food and service was excellent. I had French Onion soup, crab cakes and 8 oz filet with Wine of course! My wife had the 1/2 duck. My husband and I ordered the lobster mac 'n cheese. There was plenty of lobster in it to the point that we had no room for dessert. :( Bummer! We started to eat on the patio despite the clouds and cool weather because we brought our dog. However, we had to move inside because it did start to rain and became to cold for comfort. Doggie went into the car. They also have a doggie menu which I thought was very special and sweet. The wait staff was friendly. The bar tender apologized for the slow wait which really didn't bother us as we were on vacation and in no hurry. We stayed a night at the 1896 house and ordered takeout to dine in our room. Service was fast and the food was delicious. We ordered steamed mussels for an app. Sadly 4 of them hadn't opened and our plastic utensils couldn't help us with that lol. I had the grilled plum and Granny Smith salad with grilled chicken and it was amazing. The portion was huge. My husband had the Cajun seafood Alfredo and enjoyed it. It was also a huge portion. We have been coming to 6 House Pub for the last 5 winters during our Berkshires ski vacation. The decor is so comfortable, it feels like a rustic living room. The menu is varied so there is something for everyone. The food is delicious. Highly recommend. read more

This past Sunday night, my friend and I decided to order from the 6' house pub, around 7:05pm. We placed an order, for a caesar salad with extra caesar dressing, a baked brie app, and an order of fried pickles. Upon ordering, we discovered that the order was placed through DoorDash, which increased the prices, even though we were the ones picking up. But only after comparing to the 6' house pub's prices online did we discover that the prices were increased of $2+, which is ridiculous that the prices were marked up for pickup. Once the order was placed, I was informed that the order would take 50-55mins, with an estimated pickup time of 7:55pm-8:00pm for THREE appetizers. Not only was the wait time outrageous, but when we arrived to pickup the food, the dimly lit area of the 6' pub and the 1886 house made for a confusing struggle to find the entry to the place, with little to no signage, causing us to drive back and forth 3-4 times down the road and walk completely around the place. When the food was picked up, the lady at the bar did not seem conversational, seeming to rather talk to her 'regulars' at the bar even though I had just spent $40 on 3 apps and left a tip as well. When the food was given to me, I rushed home, approx. 5-6mins away. Once home, I began to unpack the food that I ordered, first the caesar salad was perfect, since it is not hard to mess up a salad, but once I began unpacking the rest, I discovered the pickles and the brie to be cold, and the brie was prepared normally, although I had asked over the app for the walnuts and the cranberries to be served in sauce cups and not on top. Overall, the experience at the 6' pub was not pleasant, from the cold food, the up-charging for pickup, the unacknowledgment from the bartender, and the extremely long wait time for 3 appetizers, I will not be recommending the 6' pub to anybody I know. read more

What happened to the '06 Pub? We have lived in Williamstown for a decade and visited even longer and one of our must does was to grab a meal at the 06 House - that changed last night. I ordered a hamburger (what could go wrong?) and my wife a lobster roll (ditto) . The best part of the meal was the lobster roll which, at $24, compared on par with the $5 roll from Stop and Shop. Ordered "medium rare" I was served a grey flat pattie which did not nearly cover the bun. the meat was uniformly grey - that is the surface was the same color as the interior and there was NO evidence of either grill char or of the pink interior I expected. The color, shape and size reminded me of the a well known chain but missing the juiciness which the high tech consumer manufacture knows how to add. The fries were a good match for this atrocious example of tourist rip -off - they were dry and rubbery and, I have to think, stored for a significant time in a hot-cupboard or under a heat lamp. All issues indicating either an incompetent management or one maximizing profit following the lean months we have just endured. I point at management for, who else would allow four cushions to lie on the ground between tables for the whole time we were "dining" while servers, busboys and guests stepped over or around them for an hour and a half. The current situation at the '0 six house is worse than mediocrity and should be avoided. Visitors should know the Berkshires can do better, much better, than the '6 House currently does Date of visit: June 2021 read more

My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience at The 6 House Pub tonight. The staff were on their game and very welcoming. The food came out in a timely manner and was hot as it should be. Fried pickles, basket of sweet potato fries, black raspberry chicken and grilled chicken/broccoli Alfredo were all delicious. The brownie Sunday was also great!! Our waiter was extremely nice and attentive and asked several times if everything was okay and if we needed anything at all. Will definitely be back soon and with more people to share the pleasant experience with. Another reason for us to love the Berkshires even more than we already did!! read more

Worst customer service experience of my life. No exaggeration. Truly in shock. On June 8th, I came to this restaurant with my mom and mother-in-law really looking forward to having a nice evening together. And we did-- despite the fact that the food and service were only okay, we made the most of it. After waiting a while, I brought my check into the restaurant to pay and when asked how the experience was, I did note that it was only okay and my $12 drink was pretty watery. Nonetheless, we paid the full bill, and I handed our server a 20% cash tip upon leaving. READ THIS: As we were about to leave the restaurant and I was waiting for my mom, an employee of the restaurant (who we think was the hostess) ran after us and yelled "IT'S SO RUDE NOT TO LEAVE A TIP FOR YOUR SERVER AFTER EVERYTHING THAT SHE DID FOR YOU". That is an exact quote. She then slammed the door in our face. We were in complete and utter shock and in disbelief. Once I realized what just happened, I went back in and told this employee that I handed our server the full 20% cash tip. I could tell that she realized that she screwed up but there was no apology and instead she said "oh I didn't know that" and she ran away never to be seen again. No apology. I have never been treated this way in my life. I calmly asked the other younger male server that witnessed the situation for her name and to speak to a manager but he would not provide it. In fact, when I asked to speak to the manager or get the owner's contact, no one would provide any information. Another employee came out and told me that there was no manager but I could explain what happened to her. I calmly went through the entire situation, once again totally baffled. Instead of an apology, she said to me that she HAD NOT HEARD THE OTHER PERSON'S SIDE YET! I could not believe this!! Please note, we were completely cordial and nice to the server, enjoyed ourselves despite not loving the experience, paid our full bill and 20% tip, and were made to feel this way. I was not rude, loud, over the top etc. I was calmly explaining what happened while quite honestly almost in tears over how I was treated. Truly worst customer service I have every experienced. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this restaurant. I have never been made to feel this way in any restaurant. Our evening was ruined. Avoid this restaurant at all costs. I hope the owner of this restaurant reads my review because no one would provide me with a contact of owner or manager. read more

They never advertised they had a special Easter menu that was not kid friendly and very expensive we were very disappointed would have went somewhere else if we had known. First time in this area with 3 friends. Chose this Pub as reservations were taken and we were on our way to the theatre in Williamstown. The house Chardonnay was a good size pour and very good. Three of us chose the Salmon. Each of us asked for a different preparation, different sides and add ons. Our waitress got everything exactly right. My salmon cooked medium rare was perfectly delicious and just the right size. The side was snap peas and again perfectly cooked and delicious. Although we didn't ask for separate checks, the waitress offered and we appreciated. The setting is a country pub. Attentive friendly staff. Very nice ambience. Waiter was very attentive at first, we ordered Stella ciders, at his suggestion, but he came back a few minutes later apologizing that the tap was down. We got Angry Orchard, so not a big deal. Then our calamari came, and it was the smallest$14 app we've ever seen. I got garden burger which was good, my husband got crab cake sandwich. No sauce on or with the sandwich. He had to ask for Mayo. Very dry without tarter sauce or something. Overall, a very blah dinner. Lots of other places in town to try. EDIT. I just looked at their menu, and the crab sandwich WAS supposed to come with a red pepper sauce. The kitchen forgot it, and when mentioned to the waiter, he just side stepped the question. Food was DELICIOUS!! We had the fish & chips (the fish was perfectly cooked (it fell apart as it should when you cut into it and was incredibly tender) and the fries were tasty and clearly made in house. We also had the Connecticut Lobster Roll, the corn hoagie was really nice and not overly "bready", it was the perfect size for the decent portion of lobster meat. We started with two fresh Caesar side salads (much bigger than side salads I've gotten elsewhere) and the Brie wheel was amazing (we didn't finish that or the chips so I'm enjoying my leftovers).
