Meh. We came to town for the Christmas train and this seems to be the only place to eat. We got there and it was busy! But we were prepared to wait so we parked a street over and walked there. However when checking in, we were told there is no where to wait and told we should wait in our car and they would find us when our table was ready. Hmmmm not a great system when we have 2 little children and a cold rainy day. Other places tell you they can take your number and text you when your table is ready. Luckily a parking spot opened so we could move our car to the lot and wait in it. So finally we were seated and the place is just kind of old and dirty. Ok fine. My kids had chicken and fries from the kids menu, I had the Reuben and fries and my husband had the clam basket. Prices were fair and our waitress was nice. The food was fine, not great but not gross. I will return only if I have to, if we're in the area and my kids are hangry. read more

First time there - very cute place. Very busy over lunch but cleared out after. Waitress was fast and very good. I had the fish sandwich which I could never recommend. So mushy....yuck. Stopped for lunch after a great bike ride on the rail trail. Server was overwhelmed, 1 for the entire restaurant. She did have a good attitude and did the best she could. Had the day's special- ham and cheese grinder, it was delicious. Fries were fresh and tasty. Dined outdoors and enjoyed the experience. Missed it being open two years ago but fortunately we caught it this year on our bike ride. Old train depot, not surprising since it's along a rail to trail paved path. Be patient and not in a hurry. They are trying the best they can. Service and food are good and it was a great day to sit on the patio to have lunch before riding back. read more

I have been here many times with family and friends. The last time was the worst service I have ever had anywhere. Only one waitress for a full house and outside seating. There were six of us in the party and all dinners were served at different times with a time-lapse of at least 20 minutes. This is totally unacceptable. Mind you this was lunch!!!! 12:15 PM when we ordered and didn't get our invoice until 2:00 when we had to ask for it. The meals were not hot and the french fries were old and cold. NEVER did the server come over and ask about our meals or offer more drinks. She was waiting on tables, bartending, and delivering meals. I will not be going back there until it straightens out. I understand that the server wants all the tip money so no other waiters are scheduled. Very POOR service! read more

I wish I could leave zero stars. We arrived at this place with our dog and upon entering we asked where do we sit and a young girl said you can sit anywhere. Having gone down the rail trail we were exhausted and so excited to take a load off and enjoy a drink and relax. We sat down inside and within a few minutes a woman came out and was like "yeah you can't have dogs in here". I said well I'm Sorry we got confused considering we were told we could sit anywhere. We then go outside on their patio to then be told after sitting that out dog needed to be chained outside the gate of the patio, leaving him basically sitting on the pavement of the side of the rail trail( severely dangerous). We obviously left. Get with the current generation. Most restaurants only dogs, let alone a service animal. I'll be sure to let all of those I know, you pushed away a service animal. When we first walked in we thought, what a cool local bar. I'd say it was a regular busy day, in other words, no lines waiting outside to sit. We were told to sit wherever we want so we did. I don't recall if it was the server or the bartender who brought us menus. Took a little while and we ordered drinks, then a little while and we ordered an appetizer. This was fine up to this point. Then we sat for quite a while until the server took our order and we waited over an hour, maybe hour and a half for our food. We watched a full table get refills on their drinks twice, one table sat, ordered, ate and let and other tables were catered to - with the bartender assisting them. Our drinks were never refilled and we were never checked on. I was so furious that by the time the food came I blew up about waiting over an hour, no drink refills and being totally ignored. The server immediately says "well I thought it was more important to serve hot food than drinks!". Then one meal was totally wrong and some of us didn't get refills. This was the worst service I have had ever, or in a very long time. I do feel responsible for not checking in with the server but I am not one to do that, I know they are busy and will get to me. Going forward, I will set a twenty minute limit to check.. so frustrating. I left 20% tip because it was Christmas. I have learned my lesson to be more upfront and I hope this server learned theirs. read more

Below is a review I wrote on Google about Aj's. Gave them 3 stars on Google.. Owner attacked on me on a private msg. Brilliant work. He should not be in the hospitality business. I happened to be staying at a hotel near by. Called in for a pick up order. Employee 1- Male Who took the order never put the order in. When I walked in they had no clue. Employee 2 Girl - Took the order, no apologies or crack a smile. Or didn't tell me its going to take forever. Smiles doesn't cost you a thing. 25-30 minutes later Employee 3 girl, said you have been waiting for while and what can I do for you. She was the nicest one out of the lot. When you are the only game in town you get way with things like this. Rudeness and bad food. Worst tacos you could eat. Tasteless chicken. They put lettuce in the Tacos. Thats a big NO NO. I happened to own 15 restaurants over 20 year time span in Manhattan in a very competitive market. I take customer service very seriously. I usually reach out to unsatisfied customers and apologies for the bad experience. It is going to happen. But how do you deal with it? This location could be a real cool place. Building and railway station feel is nice. Few months later I hear from the brilliant owner in a private message. Its below. This exactly what he wrote. It doesn't make much sense either. Went in after hiking Mount Greylock. Quickly seated and fast service. The bar has a ton of solid TVs if you want to watch the game they had all the college games on. Got the BBQ Bacon Burger it was huge and solid. Would go again anytime in that area. read more

I hate to leave a negative review of this place, but we had a pretty disappointing experience, and nobody who worked there apart from the person who sat us, seemed to really care. We chose AJ's for lunch because we were on the bike path, and it was right there. This is a small place, with a bar and dining inside, and a few tables outside on the bike path. We sat outside, where the 6 or so tables were full. When we passed through the bar area, there were a handful of people hanging at the bar, and maybe 2-3 tables of two having lunch. I'm mentioning how many people were dining, because we sat for TWO HOURS before giving up and leaving before our sandwiches arrived. Mind you, when we sat, the bartender did say she was busy, because she was understaffed that day. That's fair enough, but we spotted at least one other server working as well. In any other place, two servers are generally plenty to manage 8 or so tables during a lazy Saturday lunch. It was a nice day, and we weren't in a hurry, so we had a couple of drinks, but after two hours, we finally just gave up. On our way out, the bartender did apologize, but she also told us it was "busy". At that time, there was a total of one couple dining inside. I could also see two people working in the kitchen, which is equally mind-boggling. We had ordered cold sandwiches. Not sure if you guys are familiar with the dynamic of a cold sandwich, but it is literally just taking ingredients out of the fridge, and putting them between bread. I have no idea what was going on in this place the day we were there, but considering the size of the staff, and the size of the lunch crowd, there was absolutely no reason we shouldn't have been able to get two cold sandwiches served in under two hours. I'm mostly disappointed that not even one person on the staff really seemed to care what was going on. The bartender did offer us a sort of anemic apology, but she didn't even offer to comp us a beer in good faith. I realize everyone has a bad day, but at AJ's, it just seemed like the service all around was nonexistent. It's too bad, because this place is in a cool location, and could have potential. read more

Formerly the train station in Adams, this is now a great American pub/bar with a great selection of burgers, wings and specials such as prime rib and fresh fish. Definitely worth checking out this local establishment! read more

Food is okay...but honestly not that great we ordered grilled cheese cause I'm picky and the flavor just wasn't there!

Food and Drinks are more reasonably priced and better quality than some other places around that overprice. Good quantity as well

This was our first time coming here and we were not impressed. At all. The chicken fingers looked more like they were grilled than fried, same with the fish and chips. The mozzarella sticks were bricks with breading, not melted. And it is WAY overpriced, i was thrown off when the bill came. The quality of the food definitely doesn't match the prices. We stopped during our rails to trails ride. We ate outside. Great spot. Food was delicious with decent portion sizes and fair prices. The bartender was a one woman show and she was spot on!! Wish I had read Robert's review before coming here, but it was spur of the moment because we went for a ride on the adjacent rail trail and it was right there. Service was non-existent. Sat at a table for half an hour, never got served, never got a menu, never was even acknowledged--and IT WASN'T VERY BUSY. Everyone at the tables around us outside had been waiting a looooong time to order and the few who had ordered had been waiting even longer for their food to be served. And the food did not appear to be especially challenging--pub grub, for God's sake. One person in the kitchen would've been plenty (full disclosure: I'm a former short order cook) and two servers (ditto) would have done the trick, but they had twice this number.
