Southern Style Sausage, Biscuits & Gravy

Cash only!! On our first attempt to dine in, we had to leave to get cash. Luckily, there was a bank around the corner. I'm glad we decided to head back because the food was delicious!! They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating looked nice and sunny but really busy so we opted to sit inside. The indoor seating space was small but we were the only ones inside for a while so we didn't mind. The staff is great! They're very courteous and have great personalities. The coffee was nice and smooth, which is particularly important for my fiancé since he's picky when it comes to coffee. He may have had 3 cups? 4? Who's keeping track anyways. The food was the star for me. Everything tasted wholesome and fresh. I got the country hash, which can be greasy but this was not at all. It was hearty, delicious and not overly salty at all. I didn't feel guilty eating my breakfast. My fiancé got the biscuits with gravy and they look amazing. I'd definitely recommend this spot for breakfast. I'm glad we stopped in. Definitely can't leave hungry!

    Biscuits and Gravy

Fantastic little place with friendly, welcoming staff and great food. Be advised: this is a cash only establishment. The biscuits and gravy were quite good and filling. The biscuits and gravy both seemed fresh and homemade, but I wish the gravy had a bit more pepper. Not a bad place for breakfast.

Best breakfast place in North Adams / Williamstown area. Very high quality omelettes and sides. Great homemade muffins, etc. Very attentive staff. Highly recommended for the morning nourishment session.

The first time I came here, I actually did not eat or drink anything. That's because as I perused through the menu, the restaurant lost power from a thunderstorm. So they basically could not serve food for an unknown period of time. I thanked them for being informative and kind and moved on to a different spot for the evening meal. I decided to return a second time. The wings (Buffalo and garlic parmesan) were well-fried and flavorful. The risotto had too much balsamic vinegar on top, and the rice tasted a little sweet (think rice pudding). Both were turnoffs for me, and felt fortunate that it wasn't my order. The buffalo mac n' cheese was quite good, with a large portion that made it satisfying. Service was friendly and kind throughout and the decor was okay, though a little dark inside (even when they had electricity). This is a decent choice for food and it is on a main road.

This spot is popular and was relatively full even for an early dinner at around 5. My fiancé and I had the Brie burgers. Loved the concept but note that it seems more of a Brie spread than actual slices of Brie. Still tasty though. I didn't love that the bun was a tad cold. The Parmesan truffle fries are on point! So amazing! Portions for the burger and side of fries are generous. The spanakopita app was tasty but a bit salty. Service was okay. I'd totally return here if in the area again but, IMO, it didn't quite live up to the hype of earlier reviews. The food's definitely solid but not at the level I'd make a special trip here. There are two gender neutral restrooms, which were well appointed but the floor was a bit slippery due to folks tracking in snow in the winter. They may want to consider extending some mats to the restrooms. I was worried about my Mom, who is a senior with some mobility issues, slipping on the floors near the bathrooms.

To its credit, there was ample variety within each course of the fixed-price-menu to satisfy vegetarians, vegans, and meat eaters. Everything was superb (little gem's ceasar salad, a scrumptious cauliflower main dish, asparagus, steak, tagliatelle emiliana, chocolate budino, lemon olive oil cake, French fries, olive mixture, braised beef, doughnuts, etc.). One feels very welcomed by the hostess, the wait staff is efficient and unobtrusive, and the restaurant avoids the sin of many restaurants these days: blaring and abrasive music. We had a little mishap with our main course in that one arrived much later than the others, and a guest's braised beef dish was a little on the cool side. The waitress (Amanda M.) was extremely gracious in handling and remedying these issues. Thank you, Amanda M. I highly recommend.

The specialty cosmo had a substitute vodka as the bar was out of the particular flavored vodka listed in the menu. Despite these initials concerns we ordered food. This cozy long space in the front section of the bowling alley offers a good vibe with plenty of TVs, sports memorabilia on the walls, a full service bar with seating, regular tables and high top tables. There is also an enclosed outside patio area and big tent with more table seating. The food menu offerings offers a selection of appetizers, burger/sandwich plates (with hand cut fries), wraps, salads, soups, pasta dishes, steak, chicken, seafood, and daily specials like flatbreads, turkey clubs, and lobster rolls/lobster mac n cheese (seasonal). The prices seem fair. I stopped by The GOAT in North Adams for dinner very recently. I could seat myself at any table and the server came over with the menu & specials list. The place was fairly busy with most seats at the bar occupied with several college football games on the TVs. I got an ice water and ordered the Italian Pasta Bake ($17.99 plus tax). My food came out in about 15 minutes. The good portion was comprised of firm grilled Italian sausage, firm tender meatballs, thick marinara sauce & melted mozzarella cheese over soft linguine, and a hot chewy piece of bread on the side. I managed to eat about half of the pasta dish before asking for a to go container. The check with Heartland QR code was presented, which was $19.25 with tax and before tip. Literally every venture is a waste of my money and I suppose a punishment to my wallet is what I deserve for continuing to contribute to a business that I don't support. However, one of their only high lights that lead me to this dead sports bar is the fact that they are open before 4:00 p.m. Now that COVID came to town, people don't go to lunch anymore apparently according to businesses. If you want bland fried food for an average price, you will most certainly get what you're looking for. They don't season their baskets of fries, onion rings or pickles (when they had them). Literally plain batter. I did get a side of chipotle aioli and it was in fact, Mayo mixed with some chipotle sauce... not the bomb aioli's that I have had at other local places. The drinks are always over priced. I don't quite consider Stoli that top shelf for $8.00 vodka drinks. Nor a captain and coke $8.00 but maybe that's just me living in the past. Most of their pints are over priced. The wells are $6 which is fine but I don't know what they keep in their well because any time I have ever asked for a drink, it's always $8.00. I guess I need to inquire about the Burnett's special? I had an $8 draft mango craft which was fine, fun but had I known I could have nearly bought a six pack for one pour, I would have gone for an old fashion White Claw.. if they had it. Don't bother asking for a cider. They have none on draft and the two that were available were Stella for those who love mouth puckering artificial sweetness and some craft one that the bar tender had no idea what end of dryness/sweetness it was. The can of spoke of Juniper tones so I passed. I literally hate this place and am only giving it two stars instead of one because I'm the fool that continually agrees to go back to this over priced dump. The staff leave little to be desired typically. I won't judge today because restaurants don't staff accordingly anymore but the lack of personality and knowledge of product astounds me. Be better... go anywhere else.
