Just okay. Steak was grey looking and lacked flavor. Was expecting the home fries to be homemade but tasted frozen. Only thing really going for them was the French toast that looked and tasted home-made. Service and waitress were nice, but personally wouldn't go back. Also to mention it's a CASH ONLY place. There is an ATM inside but I don't think there was any warning beforehand. read more

Poor Service. During our last visit we watched tables that came in and ordered after us get served before us. A full hour went by between getting our coffee and getting our meal. Our waitress apologized after about a half hour. She said she put the orders in but had no control over the order the tickets were taken in the kitchen. The order of the day should be customer service not excuses. For better service find your way to Moonlight Diner in Williamstown or M&J's in Adams. You'll be much happier at either of those businesses. read more

Nice little place for breakfast or lunch. Sunday is apparently a busy day but we hey accommodated us quickly. I had the chicken fried steak which was tender and tasty and they filled my coffee without me having to ask! So yes, a good experience and a good meal. read more

Really friendly service. Omelette was well made, good ingredients and not skimpy. The only downside is they are cash only and you dont get home fries. They have an ATM but it was a $3 fee. If I knew that I probably would have chosen somewhere else. I will be back but with cash next time lol. read more

Cash only!! On our first attempt to dine in, we had to leave to get cash. Luckily, there was a bank around the corner. I'm glad we decided to head back because the food was delicious!! They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating looked nice and sunny but really busy so we opted to sit inside. The indoor seating space was small but we were the only ones inside for a while so we didn't mind. The staff is great! They're very courteous and have great personalities. The coffee was nice and smooth, which is particularly important for my fiancé since he's picky when it comes to coffee. He may have had 3 cups? 4? Who's keeping track anyways. The food was the star for me. Everything tasted wholesome and fresh. I got the country hash, which can be greasy but this was not at all. It was hearty, delicious and not overly salty at all. I didn't feel guilty eating my breakfast. My fiancé got the biscuits with gravy and they look amazing. I'd definitely recommend this spot for breakfast. I'm glad we stopped in. Horrible service. We walked out after being ignored for a while. They seated us a tiny high top. We asked for the booth but she said no. Then it sat there empty. She didn't take our drink order or acknowledge us after throwing menus our way. It was about 77 degrees and the table next to us asked if they could crack the window for some air - no! We watched the waitress give the "hang-on" hand gesture to a patron in the middle of her order to go answer the phone. Then we left. read more

Friendly service and a cute home style atmosphere. We were able to sit right away and the server was friendly and fast to get us drinks and take our order. Please do not go here. I hate to be negative but it was a terrible experience. Prices aren't bad but they up charge u a few dollars for every little thing. A bit deceiving but whatever. Here's the part that makes me sad for paying customers. We overheard the servers discussing how they were out of regular coffeeand they then proceeded to serve decaf as regular to myself and other tables, not disclosing that it was decaf in black pots. Sadly enough one member of my party got the eggs benedict and suffered severe food poisoning and had to seek a doctor. We are guessing the hollandaise sauce did it but are sure this place is the cause. Tried to call them all day and no answer. Looks like their phone may be down. Anyways, don't go here. It was not a good experience. Slow service to get even get drinks and we are spending the rest of our trip caring for our very ill friend. read more

We can't be in North Adams or Williamstown without stopping by this fantastic local spot. Hidden off the main road, Renee's is always bustling and full of local energy. This small diner feels a little tight post pandemic, but it is worth it! On beautiful day, grab one of the picnic tables out front and spread out. Regardless of what you order be prepared to enjoy a fantastic breakfast at a reasonable price! Be sure to treat yourself to a Grilled Muffin to start out the meal - it's worth it! Their chefs always seem to cook the eggs and pancakes to perfection and the toast they are served with is always fluffy and delicious. Far and away the best breakfast spot in the Northern Berkshires! Went to this cute little diner after reading the Yelp reviews. It is located between North Adams and Williamstown. When we got there, we saw mostly locals, regulars enjoying their breakfast. I got a Veggie Omelette (Made with Egg Beaters) and my BF got a Bacon/Cheese/Egg sandwich. Both were good...the sandwich was crispy and tasty. My omelette was just OK. Not overly flavorful, but definitely very very oily. I'd think if someone asks for an Egg Beater Omelette, they would cook it with Pam or another healthy option, not with lots of oil. Saw the great reviews and came in for breakfast. Do have nice outdoor seating. The reason for the lower reviews and the rest of the ratings I believe is because we personally thought the food was very very very greasy. The bread was dripping butter and also we had healthy egg white omelettes but they were somehow still super buttery. I'm talking about glistening butter.. For the price the food isn't bad just very unhealthy. Also they are very very busy so service is pretty slow. read more

The home fries are terrible. They're just bland fried potatoes squares. Cook these things on the grill! Add onions! And butter! Maybe even peppers! Or garlic! Make REAL home fries or just serve french fries which work better with that style of cooking. Oh... or tater tots! Everything else, however... was amazing. Eggs. Muffins. I friggin HATE blueberry muffins and this thing was so moist and gooey I had to try it (if hey had another flavor that day I'd have taken some with me). Coffee was actually good. Renee's has quite good breakfast food for the area. However, we had a very negative experience this morning. After ordering our food, the owner (Renee) came in to the restaurant and sat down with two patrons. She then proceeded to talk for the next hour with these two people at an incredibly loud volume. There were not many people in the restaurant, so perhaps she thought that it was okay to be so loud. We did not appreciate it. When I am paying $30 for breakfast, I expect to be able to hear my friend sitting across from me. We will not be going back any time soon. read more

After staying in North Adams overnight on a celebratory post-vaccination visit my family visited Renee's diner for breakfast. I read online that there was outdoor seating and when we arrived there were two available tables out front. We arrived just before the brunch rush at ten thirty on a Sunday morning. We noticed a sign that said cash only and we're about to leave to head to an ATM but a waitress stopped us and said why don't you sit down place your order and one of you can go grab the cash while you wait for the food. We took her up on the offer. Between the four of us we ordered Belgian waffles, a veggie and cheese omelette, and a breakfast burrito. We also ordered tea and juices. Everyone is happy with her food. The total for the four of us was just under $50 not including tip. The weather was beautiful and our waitress had a sunny personality to match. I highly recommend Renee's for breakfast if you are in town. read more

We specialize in American style breakfast and lunch with homemade baked goods, such as a variety of muffins, biscuits and cinnamon buns. I am known for my southern style sausage, biscuits and gravy, also my "untraditional" homemade hash and our huge garbage plate. We offer a plethora of assorted flavored pancakes and French toast, such as banana stuffed French toast, cinna-bun French toast and raisin bread French toast. Our pancakes can be banana, strawberry, blueberry, chocolate or butterscotch chip, 3 berry (blackberry, blueberry and raspberry)! We got sketchy directions from the guy on the phone, who gave up our table five minutes after the rez time, despite our calling. Really? The hostess was sweet and made good on the error. She sat us at a fine table. Another woman came and gave us menus, but we had no idea if she was our server or not. After waiting (and waiting), we saw someone going to a large table seated after us, so we asked to get our orders taken -- very politely. The hostess did so. The food came, but there was one entree missing. We dared to ask the server, who had given us the menus, if it was coming. She flew off the handle, talking about having only two hands, then threw tongs for the chicken wings on the table. The hostess returned to tell us the order was never put in, and felt badly about it. The hostess couldn't have been nicer or more apologetic for this bizarre behavior. We were fully aware of the pressure and were trying to make things easier by ordering fast and simple things, and even giving our credit card early to save time. I should add that ALL the food was great. They just didn't handle pressure, nor give respect to the customer in this case. We gave the hostess a good tip, and we hope to $%^& that she didn't have to share it with her immature, temperamental co-workers. We were in town visiting Williams College and as we often do, we used YELP to help us find somewhere to have breakfast. I've never left a review here, but felt I should this time. Based on the reviews we read, we thought, why not, lets give this place a shot. We were able to get seated right away, which we were super happy about. Our waitress looked like she'd just come back from her morning jog, LITTLE shorts, not necessarily proper attire. We ordered our food and waited anxiously for what we thought would be wonderful based on what we've read here. And we waited. And we waited. And then we waited some more. Finally our food came, and I have to be honest. It was mediocre. I don't mean to be harsh, but if I knew what I was getting, I wouldn't have waited so long. I'm not trying to be mean here, definitely not my style, just felt the need to post an honest review. All these "best breakfast ever" reviews seem a bit over the top. read more

Well I have gone to this place before when it was Big Shirl's it was great food ,service,price staff all was great .Went back and now it is Renee's Diner . I would like to know why you would change such a great place .then I found out why ( the owner and her husband got a divorce he was the man behind the great food ) and she is runing it now .Well let me tell you it sucks hands down service was slow took forever to get served waitress smelled like smoke and she was pissy.The menu has changed not for the better portions are smaller but the price is not ,I felt like I was at Friendly's, another small town place gone to hell it was a complete let down .I will never go back and if you have been before but haave not been lately do not bother and if you are traveling stay away not worth the money . read more

I went to this place thinking it was good it was not .First thing was the fat greasy cook that came out of the kitchen in a tank top ,hello what about a health code .Next it took forever to get served the wait staff looks like the don't know what they are doing.They say that they are super busy but whhen I left the whole crew was outside smoking when people wanted thier check or more coffee .I do not know who runs the place but they have not a clue what they are doing ,this place is a walking health code violation if I ever saw one ,I won,t get into what I saw but let me tell you someone or somebody is going to get sick at this place . read more

This is Renee of Renee's Diner. We do buy fresh eggs and fresh vegetables twice a week. My "country" style "chunky" hash features corn beef that I pickle and roast off, added with potatoes, peppers, onions, cheddar cheese and topped with choice of eggs and toast. I offer the imitation syrup to those who like it but also offer "real" maple syrup, at cost, to our customers. The maple syrup I get is the grade A, dark Amber, locally from Sweetbrook Farms in Williamstown, MA. I appreciate feedback on yelp, I hope who ever writes a review and reads these reviews understands how hard my staff and I work to make your experience enjoyable. read more
