I enjoyed an absolutely delicious Sunday brunch here today! This was my first visit and I was thoroughly impressed! The food was perfectly portioned and very-well seasoned. It's clearly family owned and operated and I appreciate how friendly they were and the great service they provided. I always love the ambiance of a "mom & pop" type of restaurant and their small and intimate seating. If you're thinking about giving them a try, I highly recommend that you do.....you won't be disappointed!

This is GOLDEN! Sussex county needs this fabulous place. The food was out of this world. The best chicken I have had. Chelsea was our server and was amazing. Fried pickles were the best ever.

A lot of things to like about Jade's, once I was finally through town while they're open. Ogdensburg isn't much of a downtown but they're anchored by this wonderful breakfast/lunch nook just off the main highway (a mile from 23, two from 15). The host was very kind - I got there first, was allowed to claim the open table (in front of the door) and as others cleared, I was encouraged to move to any table I wanted (so I picked window). Food is cooked fresh but you won't have a long wait. And my, my is it ever tasty. As others have said, the shrimp are completely de-shelled so you can just bite on in. I felt like I got a deceptively good portion for the price (it appears smaller than it is) and the "easy egg" cooked itself as I ate through. This cosy spot puts a nice, Southern, Afro twist on your mornings and early afternoons, so do exit the highway and visit Jade and her family (literally, yes, with that young daughter others mentioned manning the register).

Finally made it up to Ogdensburg to check out Jade's and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! We started with their Fried Pickles and not that I would ever call Fried Pickles boring but Jades' was next level and above and beyond your average Fried Pickle- breaded with what I believe was corn flakes and fried to perfection, even their choice of a dense pickle slice was a grand slam!! Then I got the Incredible Hulk (perfectly fried chicken breast w/ fried green tomatoes, avocado, bacon slices and bacon jam with Bang sauce) and my girlfriend got the OG Chicken & Waffles. Both entrees were delicious and had their neat twists with the use cornmeal and seasonings. Finally, we split a side of Cheesy Grits which was as good as grits could ever be. Jade's has something truly amazing and special going on and I cannot wait to comeback for more!!!

Fried Green Tomato BLT with Zesty Breakfast Potatoes

I've been waiting to try Jade's after randomly finding it on Yelp and let me just say... after today's meal, I can't wait to come back! We ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich with waffle fries, fried green tomato BLT with zesty breakfast potatoes, and a side of biscuits and gravy. Food came out quick and hot, and it held together perfectly on the 20 minute drive back home. Chicken and potatoes were crispy, biscuit was delicious, and everything was seasoned perfectly (which can sometimes be hard to come by in Sussex County). Will definitely come back!!

The food here is amazing! We had the Chicken and Waffles with sausage gravy, fish and chips, and a chopped cheese empanada. The music was so good! It's a family owned business so on the weekend the family was there helping and they were all so sweet and nice. I loved it here and will definitely be back to try other dishes!!

We already can't wait to go back to try something else on the menu. My search for the best chicken and waffles is over - just wish I would have realized I could have paid additional for real maple syrup!! Husband loved his sandwich too. We got beef and OG empanadas to go and we enjoyed those the next day for lunch - so yum!!! And yes like someone else mentioned, great music!!

This family owned restaurant is a perfect little place to enjoy breakfast or lunch the service is excellent, the food is awesome the chicken is so tender it's to die for. .

Amazing food ! So many delicious comfort foods on the Afro-Latin inspired menu to choose from like chicken and waffles , empanadas ,chicken sandwiches , tacos and seafood dishes. I tried sausage gravy chicken waffles , egg Benedict chicken waffles , all the empanadas , and the sticky chicken sandwich. All the chicken was super tender and fried crispy and the toppings were all a perfect addition. The sausage gravy chicken waffles was absolutely awesome. The empanadas were huge and stuffed with fillings. Plenty of seating and friendly fast service. I hope to get back soon to try other items.

I can't say enough about this place. Between the amazing food and wonderful service, this is the best place to eat in town! The food tastes as good as it looks, and the portions are very generous. If you're thinking of where to eat next, don't hesitate to give Jade's a try. I'll definitely keep coming back until I try the whole menu!

We had trouble deciding on which pizzas to order (they all looked delicious) but finally decided on the Red Red Vine (fire roasted grape tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, olive oil, & balsamic drizzle) and the Porta Bella (portabella, mushroom, spinach, roasted pepper, fresh mozzarella, & balsamic drizzle). Both were fantastic and perfectly cooked - the mushrooms were fresh (not canned, thank goodness). Also - I'm kind of a sucker for a good crust and this HAD IT ((chefs kiss)). Can't wait to come back!! As a side note -- there are two separate entrances... the front entrance is to the dining room and the back entrance is to the bar. I don't think you can access them both without going outside (but you'd have to confirm with the staff).

Inside the place has a western or settlers theme (mixed in with a bit of random clutter and lots of dog photos). There was also live music which was great. For appetizers we got the guac (very fresh - recommend), wings (also quite good with a little crisp to them), and the frontier onion (which was just okay, a little more done than I would have liked, with a bit of an odd signature sauce). For dinner I had the rodeo chicken and I highly recommend it. It was very tasty. As a side note, I had ordered Russian dressing for my salad and what came was not Russian so I'd avoid that if you're a fan. It was mostly ketchup. I will say that service felt a little slow (for instance getting the check) and if you've read any of my other reviews you may know I also have a pet peeve about being without a drink for too long and I felt it took too long to fill waters. Also our table was a little sticky and I'm not sure why and don't really want to think about it too much. All that being said, I'd go again. It wasn't a bad experience and the entrees were quite good.

So together we decided to try it for an early Friday night dinner. We ordered French Onion soup, a burger, potato skins, and chili with chips (I really was excited about that, since I used to LOVE it). First, there was no internet or tvs. Not a big deal for us but definitely noted (credit cards not working, etc). Next, there were not a lot of people here at 5 ish on a Friday. There was a guy set up to sing and play guitar-he was fine (a local guy who was talking with a worker about where they live, so def local). The server comes back, no French onion soup. So we ordered mozz sticks as a replacement. They came, a plate of 3, with a pretty crispy coating (so crispy they were tough to eat). I didn't like the sauce but my husband said it was ok. For the price, 3 mozzarella sticks seems silly. My husband said his burger was ok, not something to rave about like the old Homestead reputation leads you to believe. The potato skins were great in the middle, edges were burnt, but great in the middle. My chili was the most disappointing. The chips on the side were covered in jarred salsa, jalopenos, black olive pieces, and sour cream. I was under the impression those things would be ON the chili and the chips were there to dip and scoop the chili. However, the metal crock that the chili was in was hot for the entire time we were there, the issue being that every time you tried to get chili on a spoon/chip, the crock spun around in a circle on the plate. You couldn't grab the handle because it was seriously at a molten lava temperature. Needless to say, not what it used to be, overpriced, and just not a contender with other restaurants in the area. Go a bit further on route 94 and surrounding areas each way for something better, fresher, & maybe priced for the product quality.
