We started out with Beer- Hacker Pschorr (on tap), Chardonnay and a Cabernet. Entrees consisted of *Cherrywood Salads with grilled chicken and MVP bowls with crispy chicken. Dried cherries added a nice sweet pizazz to the *Cherrywood Salad. Dessert- What else, but a yummy slice of warm Cherry pie. : D Cherries has several wide screen TVs for great sports viewing. Don Chicken is located in a strip mall with a few tables outside. We all went inside and grabbed a large table. Reading the menu, I see a Ramen dish?? I mean, I haven't had Ramen in a while so I chose this dish. Well, the "Ramen" is just that. I was given a food take out dish with a bunch of Ramen Noodles and topped with a fried chicken cutlet. However, I must say that my most recent experience was probably the best I have ever had at this location! From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. The entire order was spot-on, the food was packaged exceptionally well, and the level of professionalism demonstrated by the General Manager was truly outstanding. What impressed me most was witnessing the General Manager herself working behind the stove, preparing food because the restaurant was short-staffed. Rather than simply directing her employees, she rolled up her sleeves and worked right alongside them to ensure her customers received the quality food and service they deserved. That, in my opinion, is the true definition of leadership! Having grown up in the restaurant business myself, I have a tremendous appreciation for the hard work, dedication, and attention to detail required to operate a successful restaurant. It doesn't take me long to recognize someone who genuinely understands the business, takes pride in their work, and leads by example. This General Manager exemplifies everything a great manager should be. Her professionalism, work ethic, and commitment to customer satisfaction were immediately apparent. If every restaurant had someone with her level of dedication and leadership, the restaurant industry would be in much better shape. She is truly a tremendous asset to Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza, and I sincerely hope upper management recognizes the exceptional individual they have representing their company. One thing to note: the meat gets cold pretty quickly, and once it's cold, it's not as enjoyable--so definitely eat it while it's hot... So for the last few months I've been conducting my own personal search for the best buffalo chicken…read morepizza in Wayne and I think I found it ::insert fanfare!:: Ok so what's so good about it?? Unlike other spots in town Pizza One uses buffalo sauce as the base on the pizza, which is the only way go! Topped with mozz and buffalo chicken it's simple and so so good! Other places in town use a red sauce as their base which does not make sense to me. Another spot in town uses buff sauce but drowns their dough in it and that is just too much sauce, man. Pizza One has figured out the right sauce/cheese/chicken ratio. Their regular cheese pie is a winner too. They do a really nice thin but not too thin crust here which works for a plain pie but also is a nice base for loading up with the toppings too. I also have to talk about their garlic knots. Also the best that I've found in town (so far anyway..). They are big, fluffy and loaded with garlic. They are served w/ marinara but if you've got an extra buck I'd suggest you spring for the vodka sauce - it's sooooo good w/ the knots. No complaints re: service or wait times for pies. Pizza One is just a super solid spot in town to get food. Bonus -- if you order online they've always got some sort of deal going on - ie: a large cheese pie and 12 wings for $26 or 3 large pies for $42. We often order the pizza/wing combo (when I'm not insisting on ordering the aforementioned buffalo chicken pizza..) and when you compare to other spots you're saving at least $5 which is not nothin'.
