Jade Garden is right by our house and is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Omaha, hands down. They're always busy when we've stopped in and it's super easy to see why! The interior is pretty simple but with cute little accent touches around, like some wooden panel walls, decorated fans on the walls, and more. But where the interior is on the simpler side, the food is anything but! Everything we've had is so flavorful, and the portions are huge, so definitely assume you will have leftovers. My favorite things to get are the Peanut Butter Chicken, Pepper Beef, Broccoli Chicken, and Broccoli Beef! But literally everything there is good. They have the best soup options (I get a mix of the hot and sour and the egg drop, sooooo good). And their crab rangoon is some of the best in Omaha. And finally, the thing that brings it all together - the amazing staff! Everyone we have ever dealt with, even when they're busy, have always been so pleasant and professional. Stopped in on a weekend afternoon and was blown away by how good the food is! You place your order at the counter and then food is brought out to you! It was quick to order and quick to receive your meal. The food was piping hot! Is that the saying , I mean literally right off the pot, steaming! Everyone in our party loved their meal which was substantial sizes we all had a take home box and my nonadventerous eating children also loved what they had! I don't live in Omaha anymore but Jade Garden is always my go to restaurants list when I am in town. I have loved these wings for over 20 years. When in college we would order them, even for our parties. I ordered these wings for my graduation party and used to order them when I worked overnight at the Country Inn & Suites (now Holiday Inn). Anyway wings are still fire. I grabbed two (6) orders to go. We had plenty of leftover sauce. My brother grabbed the leftover sauce to make his own chicken breast for salads. 2 stars because I know of a person that likes it...that person it's me though. Pros: fast and hot food! Cons: every single meal tastes the exact same. Zero spice, zero flavor. The "fried rice" was actually offensive. It's just rice that's fried a little but that's not what fried rice is!. Bottom line: If you like Midwest Chinese, go here! I went there tonight and the staff seemed extremely prejudiced. The man at the register was very nice and appreciative of the white customer right before me, thanking him and smiling as he gave him his food. I had a $60 order right after this gentleman and the man at the register walked away and I had to tell someone else the name for my order. When he came back to the register there were no niceties, no appreciation and he even threw my card at me after he processed the order. As a black man who is kind to everyone I meet I still was respectful but I definitely won't be ordering from here again. Sadly I'm sure they won't mind. Wake up people, it's 2024 :( read more

Very good sesame chicken! The rice was also delicious and the cashier/table lady is very nice. So sweet and made everything easy and quick! The tables were so cute and it was nice and quiet no loud kitchen and disruptive customers just a good happy place to eat amazing food. Great vibe! read more

Our favorite place food is always delicious, fast, and good value for the price. Only thing I wish is for more gluten free options for my gluten free friends. Jade Garden is a small family owned restaurant. I first visited Jade Garden a few years ago when I lived in one of the near by apartment complexes. It instantly became my go-to for Chinese food. The service is SUPER quick. The food is fresh and hot. Great flavor and very reasonable prices. They also offer a punch card for frequent visitors. They are great for a quick bite to eat or even takeout. For sure not a 4 or 5 star for the quality, portion, service, and price. I don't know if it "could have been better 2 star yelp" because I'm not the cook or owner and it was my first experience so it gets a 3 star. Which by the way, to be fair to the world YELP needs to eliminate their little personal comment on the stars when hovering over them. Ordered Mongolian beef and Hunan Chicken for take out. It was ready fast, by the time I arrived 5-10 minutes later. $20 was not steep for the two meals considering you get fried rice and 2 crab Rangoons with each. I thought the crab rangoons were soggy and freezer burnt. I did not like those. I thought the Hunan sauce was slimy and lacked any spice or flavor. I don't have Covid so my taste is alive and well. I thought the Mongolian beef was good and had good flavor. Onions and rice were abundant and I prefer more meat and veggies. Freshness was not there. I have no idea if this is a chain or locally owned as there is nothing on their website to detail this. Over the the couple of decades in Omaha I've tried about everything but here. I'd be willing to go back and try something different for another opportunity but probably won't. read more

Everyone has their favorite Chinese place in town for American style Chinese food, Jade Garden falls into that category for me. The food is always good, the portions are perfect and the people working there are always friendly. Some of my favs are crispy chicken in spicy sauce, Mongolian beef and the peanut butter chicken. Disclaimer, I've only ordered peanut butter chicken the many times I've been here. When I find something that works I tend to stick with it. The speed of food preparation and the friendly people that work here keep me coming back. The peanut butter chicken is fantastic. The flavor and amount of sauce hits a home run. On occasion the chicken can be small and crunchy but usually it's very good. They have a loyalty program where you can get a card punched for each visit. The downside is I typically forget the card and cards cannot be combined. I'll certainly be returning. The speed, smiles, taste, and price will keep me coming back. read more

Typical American Chinese restaurant that is fine for quick takeouts. Not really something I would go back for unless I wanted something to go quick. I got the daily special, which was the shrimp in lobster sauce. It was okay, but the fried rice was far from tasting good. The daily special came with hot and sour soup (was lukewarm) and also 2 crab rangoons. It would be better if it was cheaper, but after tax it came out to be just under 10 dollars. I recently moved away from my favorite chinese place, so I decided to give Jade Garden a try. I could not have been more disappointed. First of all, sweet and sour chicken looked like chicken nuggets covered in a watery sauce. The chicken itself was gray and inedible. The egg drop soup looked like chicken noodle soup and even had chicken in it, which I have never seen before. The fried rice was boiled and rubbery. The crab rangoons were soggy. It is cheap, I will give you that. I have never seen a place where crab rangoon replaced the soup before. The fried rice was bland. General's chicken was not as crunchy chewy as I would like, more sweet and sour chicken than General's usually is, and kung pao beef was only fair, hot and tasteless. Granted, neither of these is an authentic dish, so who the hell knows how they are supposed to taste. It just made me miss San Francisco to eat such lackluster Asian chow. And have to ask for chopsticks. Great service, fabulous price, but less than average value. In general, Chinese food here in Omaha is better than in most other Anglo enclaves where I have lived (Wisconsin and Georgia, but not New Hampshire). They get it right in NH, somehow. The food here is always fresh and hot, and the service is extremely fast! I was the first of a party of 5 to arrive, but was promptly greeted by the waitress and got something to drink while I waited.....very nice. I have moved away from Omaha, and this is the place I crave the most since moving! Everything about Jade Garden is excellent, from the employees to the amazing food! My husband is allergic to mushrooms, so we told the waitress on our first visit there. The owner personally came out to our table and assured us that his food came nowhere near mushrooms. He then remembered us every time we came in after that (which was at least once a week) and made sure to go back and tell the kitchen staff "no mushrooms" before we even ordered. The peanut butter chicken is to die for! Other things are also good, but this was always what I kept coming back to. I can't wait to make a trip back to Omaha so I can come here again! WORST CHINESE I'VE EVER HAD! The food was terrible. Plate comes with 2 crab rangoon that were most likely sitting for at least an hour and a half. The sesame sauce was thick and not very appetizing. The chicken was low quality and let's not even talk about the poor excuse of fried rice they gave me. Rice had no flavor no veggies like real fried rice and barely any egg at all. Let's just say China Buffet has better food than this place AND THATS A BUFFET when a buffet has better food than a made to order restaurant that's really saying something.
