Well I was in the area and I stopped off here. So I went around and saw a drive thru. Waited a little while. And ordered the beef and broccoli which tasted good to be honest. Nice and soft broccoli and beef. The egg drop soup was tasty as well. The lo mein. With pork was tasty but the shrimp tasted old. So overall not bad. read more

Food is terrible since new owners took over. Crab rangoon wasn't really crab rangoon to me. Same with the veg. fried rice & the garlic chicken. Gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time before I knew it had changed owners. Went back the second time but never again unless the previous owners were to come back. It had been awhile since I had gone there. Service was good. read more

Pleasant, window seating. Unfortunately, have switched to all plastic or styrofoam when eating in. (If they still have; best takeout, covered plastic container-- re-use all the time) Tip: Bring your own leftover containers when you eat out; cuts down on styrofoam use. Heads up! If you are not a fan of all spice, Chinese seasoning, that seasoning that taste like licorice (Star of Anise), sadly I have an aversion to it, they use it, I barely ate my food, my wonton soup was heavy with it, it made me sad, the actual sweet and sour chicken was good, but just not a fan of the yellow fried rice (I am Asian from the west coast (bay area/Sacramento) I have never seen yellow fried rice, ok, I figured oh maybe it's like Viet saffron rice, which I love! Nope! It was bland, so why is it yellow?! Where's the soy sauce in the fried rice?? but maybe that is how Chinese food is like in the Midwest. Will just stick to places that I know that seasoning isn't used, and where the fried rice is cooked w soy sauce and is savory. read more

I placed my order in the drive-through. I was the only car so no customers were in front of me nor behind me so I assumed the order would be quick and easy. After 15 minutes and my food was still not done, I asked for a refund The lady walked away and I waited another minute when the "manager"came to the window and asked me to pull over to wait even longer for my food!?!! I again requested a refund and had to argue to obtain the refund All in all, 23 minutes in a drive thru with no other cars and that somehow wasn't enough time to complete my order which was merely Hunan chicken read more

My daughter and I were in the mood for some Chinese food. We haven't been to this place before so we wanted to try it. I called, ordered ahead and picked up the food abut 15 minutes later. The food was hot and fresh. Pretty much the same type of Chinese food that you get elsewhere. I would go back again as they are a tad cheaper than other similar Chinese restaurants. read more

Yelpers did not disappoint. The reviews are spot on. I've driven by this very unassuming spot for many years, it is not fancy inside or out. They have a huge menu and the food was prepared fresh, it doesn't sit around and get cold. The food comes out fresh and HOT. The service is quiet but they diffidently deliver. I had the General Tso's chicken platter, it came with an eggroll and fried rice. The drink selection is limited for sure, but the tea sufficed. The crab rangoon was good too. The seafood soup stole the show for me, it was cold outside and the hot as hell seafood soup was amazing and made my day. The chicken had a spice that took a few bites to appreciate and I really liked it. I look forward to stopping here much much more. read more

Just picked up Curry Chicken, horrible!!! No flavor, no sauce, just nasty powder on the chicken! Vegetable noodles, NO flavor. Their fried rice is like red Spanish rice with peas and carrots. I literally took 2 bites of each food item and I can't even it's so bad!!!! What a waste of money and was really looking forward to trying someplace new and hoping it would be good! Avoid! read more

Nice staff, but my experience with the food wasn't great. I had the General Tso's Chicken. The meat was over cooked and chewy and their fried rice was sub-par. Maybe some of their other options are better but pass on the General Tso's Chicken. read more

China Wok has some of the best Chinese food in the area, in my opinion. I've never had a bad experience here. The drive thru makes it so convenient. It's not your typical drive thru, it is cook to order so you will have to wait for your food but it's always hot and delicious! read more

Great service an authentically delicious food. Finally checked this place out tonight ( Saturday). There was about 8 cars in the drive through and another 7 people inside ordering. Giving that they were making the dishes to order (we could see them) the time it took was very quick considering. Having lived in Los Angeles just blocks from China town (plus LA has a HUGE selection)...I can honestly say, this is the best Chinese food I have had anywhere. The prices are very fair as well. Basically, for 3 people we spent the same amount as we would have at Panda Express...but the quality, flavor and service was much better. So happy to have found this place. I ll be coming here for Chinese food from now on! read more

The food here is good and they have a drive thru which is super convenient, especially when it's freezing cold outside! Council Bluffs doesn't really have great Chinese food in my opinion, but this place seemed a little better compared to some of the others in the area we've tried recently. I thought the crab rangoon were good. They had a lot of filling and were crispy. The pork lo mein was also decent. I'm sure we'll try it again when we want Chinese food and want to stay close to home. read more

This is definitely a dive, BUT the food is wonderful. We were served by friendly staff, received our food faster than I expected and it was piping hot. Delicious... I had the Triple Delight, lots of meat and veggies. Although you can't tell in the photo, that dinner plate is larger than average... and full of food. Nope... I couldn't eat it all. Awesome "American" Chinese! Flavor of the veggies comes through (Broccoli Beef) with just the right amount of sauce. The chicken fried rice wasn't dry or over salty-the chicken was moist-so good! The Crab Rangoon were full, lots of filling! We live a good 45-50 minutes from Council Bluffs, and painfully waited till we got home to eat, everything was still hot! Even the fried Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon were warm and not soggy! Highly recommend! read more

If you're not looking for fancy but you are wanting really tasty food this is the spot to try. The hot & sour soup is the best I've had. My general tso chicken was great too. My daughter had chicken lo mein & loved it. Everything is cooked fresh so you don't get the nasty day old taste that you get from buffet places. To start off we had crab rangoons and they were stuffed full of cream cheese, lightly fried & served up hot. The rice isn't exactly fried rice, it was yellow and lacked eggs. I'll see if they have steamed rice next time. I would definitely recommend this place for your next chinese fix. read more

I really wanted to like China Wok but I just can't bring myself to. We've been there a few times and every time we eat there we end up sick afterwards. I've had friends and family eat there and have the same results. I don't know what it is but we all get violently sick afterwards. Place appears to be clean and decent prices but so not worth being sick. read more

Expect the unexpected. Many people, including myself, have passed by this little gem and probably do not even notice it. I was "Yelping" a place to eat for lunch and decided to check this place out. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, which is always a nice gesture. The menu is standard Chinese fare. Appetizers, soups, and entrees fill the sign above the checkout counter. I ordered egg drop soup with sesame chicken. I was literally sitting for a minute when my soup arrived. My food arrived five minutes later. My food was fresh, delicious and inexpensive. The restaurant does not have servers. You have to order from the counter and it is delivered to your table. I occasionally get China Wok for lunch. I have dined in and ordered through the drive thru on several occasions. I the food is always made to order and fast. The quality is great but the service is usually very impersonal and sometimes rude. Still I give this place 4 stars because I know that the food is good and don't go into it expecting to 5 star service. For the price it's a great choice for fast food Chinese. read more

The workers are very rude. Whenever I said thank you they would just stare and one even gave me a rude look. It seems like they hate their job. Hot and sour soup is good but it's really spicy. Seasme chicken was really good and crispy. It's tiny if you sit inside and they don't play music. Good for coming alone bad for coming with people. read more

Not bad. Small place, order at the counter. I ordered general tso's chicken and fried rice with side of ragoons. They delivered the food to my table and were very nice. The rice was a bit cold. I am guessing 90% of the business is takeaway. Very limited seating. On street parking is plentiful. I had the Korean bbq beef. No rice. I had an extra portion of protein and two portions of extra veggies. Total bill was around $20. Tons of delicious food. A normal dinner would run about $10 or $12 bucks. Location is hard to find the first time you go. Use Apple Maps or Google Maps to get there.
