I'm back and better than before…read more We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which was creamy, rich, and served with perfectly crisp chips. The shishito peppers were blistered just right with great flavor and a little kick. Simple, but done well. The smash burger was the standout. Cooked perfectly with a great sear, juicy inside, and topped with melty cheese and pickles that balanced everything. Add the truffle fries and it was game over. Crispy, flavorful, and generously seasoned. The Greek salad was fresh and bright, with good quality feta and olives. A solid, refreshing balance to the heavier dishes. Service was exceptional. Attentive without hovering. The decor is warm and stylish, great energy without being too loud.

Our group of 7 had reservations for 7:00pm a couple of Fridays ago. When we arrived, we pulled up…read moreto the valet, handed him our keys, and walked in right on time. We were seated immediately in the room toward the back left corner where we were the only table occupying the space. In fact, as the evening progressed, no other diners/groups were seated back there, which was nice. We observed that although it was a Friday evening at prime dinner hour, the restaurant never got too full nor was the bar area buzzing. Again, it was nice that it wasn't so hectic in there, but we noted that as curious for a spot like this, on a Friday evening, and when the weather was pleasant. Starting with a high point: our server was really good. He was a very nice young man who let us know at the end of our meal that it was actually his first day on the job. While we could tell he didn't know everything about the menu - which is totally understandable given him being a new hire - he was kind, personable, and went above and beyond to provide excellent and timely service. As for the venue, it was nice although not upscale and that was just our speed for this evening. We loved having the room to sit comfortably at a setup that could comfortably seat 8. As for the food, it was decent although I wouldn't call anything I tasted fantastic. For apps, we shared 2 orders apiece of calamari, crab cakes, and lamb chops (6 apps total) with the chops being my favorite out of those. The calamari were small and didn't pack a lot of flavor but they were fried well. The marinara sauce that came with it was also fine but not remarkable. The crab cakes were a little mushy for our liking. For my entrée, I ordered the Lobster Rigatoni. There was plenty of lobster on top, the portion was more than solid, and it came out at the right temperature but the flavor again failed to really impress and was somewhere between "fine" to "good". For dessert, I ordered the chocolate lava cake, and I was truly disappointed by that. For starters, there was no gooey "lava" as the name implied, and the edges were dry and seemed overcooked. The flavor again fell a little flat and I didn't bother to finish it even though I am usually a huge fan of chocolate desserts. All in all, we had an enjoyable evening as a crew, but the food could be elevated a bit from a flavor standpoint. I would give the food a little better than a "3" but I think they have enough going for them that amping up the flavors could do wonders for their desirability and drawing more diners.

Came here for my birthday! It was really really good just like I remembered. I was a bit late to…read morethe reservation but that wasn't a problem. Definitely need a reservation for Friday night. I've been going to the locations in the city before but I'm so glad they opened one up here. The drinks were delicious we tried the watermelon margarita, passionfruit sour, virgin Pina colada, and brisa de Lima. Made very well. For apps we got the grilled octopus and Nikkei ceviche. The grilled octopus came with two delightful sauces and some grilled mini potatoes. It was tender and flavorful. The Nikkei was like Peruvian tuna poke but I wish it was a little less salty. For mains we went all out. We got the matador combo and an arroz con mariscos and a full platter of jalea. It was enough food for 6 people with quite a bit left over. One of the standouts we never expected was the seafood rice.. the sauce it came in was rich and complex and creamy. Not like a paella, more like a risotto.. that was finished quickly everyone loved it. For the matador combo it is a huge amount of food. The chicken was standout juicy and came with a ton of sides like avocado salad, rice and beans, tostones, and salchipapas and fries. It was all really good and can fill up your party. The other fun food was the jalea, it's a fried mix seafood platter. I enjoyed the seafood used they had a mix of white fish, baby squid, calamari, clams, and yucca fries, all drizzled with this light but umami filled criolla salsa, which is a mix of red onions corn garlic and yumminess. Everyone was stuffed. Finally we had cake that I night and the cappuccinos we ordered were good as well. And the bill wasn't too crazy for 6 people with drinks. The only annoying part was that the roof was a bit drippy it rained and I felt occasionally drips of water on my head..

I ordered the Mussels appetizer, which was excellent, as was the calamari. We also ordered the three dip trio of Tzatziki, Hummus and Spicy Feta. All needed more flavor. I've made Spicy Feta and it's packed with lemon and garlic. The Tatziki was very light on garlic. Same with the Lemon Chicken, not very lemony. Hubby got the Lobster pasta. He said the pasta sauce was very good but some of the lobster was overcooked. The biggest disappointment was the Baklava Sundae. The baklava didn't have that signature crispiness Baklava should have. I did taste my husband's Basque Cheesecake, which was excellent. I also tasted the Olive Cake. I was having dessert envy. Lovely ambience, especially on a warm Summer's night. Service was OK, not amazing but our waiter tried his best. I would absolutely come back and I know what to order. :)

We were seated under the outdoor tent which gave us a great view of the marina and the sunset. There are also tables right long the railing to the marina, which looked nice as well. Additionally there is a lounge area which we explored after we ate. You could tell it was the place to be on a Friday night. Cozy couches, lovely bar, and a DJ. Inside there is plenty of additional seating which explains why this place operates year round. For drinks we both had the peach smash which was delicious and hit the spot. For food we both ordered the grilled branzino filet which was perfectly cooked. It came with delicious broccolini and lemon potatoes. The service was a bit hit or miss. We weren't sure what food we wanted right away so our waiter left us for about 30 minutes. Asking for the check was another 20 minutes. Staff is very nice but also being pulled in different directions. I had to knock off a star as the parking is valet only. It's free but a tip is always nice and we wish we had known about it in advance.

Since we were in Glen Cove, we decided to give this place another try, but I honestly regret it. I…read moretried to make a reservation online, but the system showed no tables were available. However, when I called the store, I was able to get a reservation right away. I expected it to be packed, but when we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty, there was only one person in the dining area and two at the bar. We ordered a Corona, a lemonade, an apple juice, and a coconut margarita. The margarita was very small for the price and didn't have much coconut flavor. For dinner, we had the fajitas, a steak bowl, three cheese quesadilla for the kids, and the chorizo-loaded fries. The fries were the only thing I actually enjoyed. The fajitas and steak bowl lacked authentic flavor, and for $50, the platter only had three shrimp and a few pieces of steak and chicken buried under a huge pile of peppers and onions. To top it off, we waited 10 minutes for the churros after asking to sing 'Happy Birthday' to my daughter. For $250, this experience was definitely not worth it, and we won't be returning.

We really enjoyed this restaurant!…read more I had a wonderful tequila cocktail I enjoyed immensely. The food was also very interesting and different. They have different kinds of lobster rolls that seemed popular with others but we didn't try. We did try the salad with breaded avocado which was really good and interesting. The octopus was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The service was also very friendly and the chef came out to check on folks. They clearly care a lot about people enjoying their restaurant and that care shows! Really enjoyable ambiance for date night.

Warning to Diners: Bad Food, Worse Service -- and a Sketchy OpenTable Cancellation!…read more We hardly ever eat at neighborhood restaurants since we're in the City most of the time, but we were staying in the neighborhood this weekend, so we decided to give a local spot a try. I rarely leave negative reviews, but tonight's experience deserves a warning to others. What was supposed to be a simple dinner turned into one of the most unsettling dining experiences we've had. My husband and I ordered the pork chop and the chicken pot pie. The pork chop started out fine until we reached a section that smelled foul--a strong, rotten odor with a reddish interior totally different from the cooked part we had already eaten. We both noticed it immediately. When we told the female waiter, someone from the kitchen who maybe the owner eventually came out, only to dismiss us and insist he didn't smell anything. The tone was snobbish and condescending, and there was zero concern that we had already eaten part of something potentially unsafe. At the very least, he should have asked how he could make it right--but he didn't. The pork chop was only removed from the bill after my husband said he would not pay for it. That should never be a negotiation. The chicken pot pie was completely ordinary, and the cornbread topping was dry to the point of being unpleasant. Between the questionable food and the even more questionable customer service, this place left a terrible impression. Neighbors be warned!!! Addendum -- Diners, Please Read / OpenTable, Please Take Note Our reservation was for 6:30. After getting home at 7:50, I went to leave this review on OpenTable--where we made our reservation--only to find that our reservation had been canceled at 7:48 PM, after we had already eaten there. Because of that, we have no record of dining and cannot leave a review on their platform! I had no idea a restaurant could do this. It feels extremely sketchy, especially since canceling a reservation like that conveniently prevents guests from posting an unfavorable review. No wonder the OpenTable rating looks so high. This isn't just disappointing -- it's something OpenTable should be aware of. If restaurants can erase reservations after the fact, it undermines the entire review system that diners rely on. Consider this a warning to future guests and a call for OpenTable to look into this practice.
