I'm very disappointed by the way I was treated by the manager of Sweet Mandarin, and will not be returning as a customer. They forgot to include one of my side orders, and when I called to let them know I was basically told I was lying - that the chef and packer said they included it. To treat a regular customer like that is extremely insulting, when they should be apologizing. I rather support another local business that knows how to treat their customers with respect. read more

Just a 20 minute drive from my home and I was embarrassed to say that I had never been there before. Big parking lot for a big restaurant. They also have plenty of outdoor dining, weather permitting. The restaurant decor is clean, modern, and very bright. It is a comfortable place for a meal. This was going to be simple as we picked this place especially for the Sushi. My girlfriend had the chicken and brocli and an order of pork fried rice, which she said was really good. I had the Mongolian beef, which was excellent. Had a really nice spicy kick to it. Went here with 9 other people for a friend's birthday. We had reservations and were seated right away on the second floor. I got wonton soup and crab rangoons. The wonton soup was alright. The crab rangoons were kind of disappointing; it just seemed like it was stuffed with cream cheese--absolutely no texture or crab flavor. However, everyone else seemed to enjoy their food enough. My friend got the baby octopus appetizer special and said he "loved how the baby octopus felt in his mouth." All the hibachi meals came with a choice of soup or salad and rice on the side. Yikes! Good food but slow slow slow service! We were a group of 7 and had a reservation thankfully! We sat at one end of a huge table for 16! Maybe they were busy with take out and delivery because there were limited tables filled for our food to be that slow coming out. Also the dishes all came out piece by piece as they were ready, so some of us ate right away and others waited until way after we were finished. They even tried to give us the food from the table next to us. The servers paid attention when you called them and were fast and efficient. The fault was back in the kitchen management. They offered us a scoop of ice cream to make amends. The steamed dumplings were plump and juicy. The rolls were all fresh and beautifully prepared. But, I started paying closer attention to spending and realized my bills from this restaurant were always significantly higher than from anywhere else. $30-$40 for Chinese dishes?? Why?? I started ordering from another place close by that also has good food and my bill is about half the price. Also, one time a delivery person delivered someone else's order. I called the restaurant and figured they'd just deliver the correct order but a) the woman on the phone just seemed irritated with me and b) she told me bc it was ordered through a third party delivery site they couldn't just remake my order. I understand it's a little more complicated with a third party vendor but the response I got wasn't helpful especially when I'm a regular customer. She eventually told me they'd remake the order (at my cost) but it would take over an hour to get it - mind you, I live a half mile away and it was about 5pm on a week night so it wasn't as though the restaurant was packed. In terms of food, its decent but not great. The sushi was ok and the sashimi was fresh with decent quality. Normally I would recommend this restaurant but my last in person experience left a lot to be desired. We wanted to sit upstairs but they insisted we sit in a booth downstairs. Unfortunately it was the last booth near the hibachi tables. Music was too loud--they lowered slightly.
