Came here on a Saturday for lunch. The sushi and sashimi were fresh, with a good variety to choose from. Highly recommend their combo set. We'll definitely be back!

The quality of the fish at yamaguchi is always amazing. The chefs are friendly, the staff is kind and the ambiance is nice.

The fish is very fresh and the omakase choices are wonderful. Unfortunately they are understaffed so your wait time will be high to get a table, to get your order taken, and to get your food. You'll be glad you ordered sushi. Lots of great choices in the omakase. Come by quickly.

The food was delicious and the service was warm. I had a great time eating。 Japanese cuisine is very healthy。

Amazing quantity sushi and sashimi! Bought a takeout for friends reunion and everyone is in love of the food. Will recommend everyone i know! Good job!

Jesse Y.

Decent sushi, decent service and decent establishment. This is a very standard restaurant and nothing out of the ordinary.

Grace K.

What a great humble sushi spot. Service and food quality was great. Everything was fresh. Restaurant was spacious and clean. Will definitely be back again.

I was told this is their new "French style" soft shell crab!"

Do not go! New owner and the quality of the food is disappointing!! Now it is just another Chinese Japanese sushi restaurant. We order "soft shell crab" and it came with the extra thick breading that only used for japanese pork cutlet pork cutlet . The waiter said, "We changed it, This is new French style! You should like it!!" (see image!) We are NOT going back!

A friend had told us about Plancha and never got around it until recently. It's a small place but a solid menu and lots of wine. They were also able to accommodate us with our stroller. Food we got the pan con jamon, garlic shrimp, patatas bravas, shisito peppers and the plancha burger. The sangria was very good. Juicy, not overloaded with BS fruit and just very flavorful. The bread is like a toasted baguette cut into 4 triangles topped with piquillo salsa, arugula and jamon. Pretty good, I was surpised there wasn't pan con tomato but it was still enjoyable. This is a bit more on the acidic side so if you don't like things too tangy - might not be for you. Patatas bravas, classic with aioli and bravas sauce. Shisito peppers blistered, a bit of finishing salt and lemon. Garlic shrimp was cooked well, personally I'd like a bit more garlic in mine and some bread to mop would be nice but still tasty. Plancha burger was definitely our favorite. It's a blend of wagyu sirloin and chorizo, so it's very juicy with a nice smokiness. Very pleasantly surprised and definitely will be back to try some other things.

One star for good food and wine (the cheese/charcuterie board is an excellent value and the…read moreboquerones are tasty) , but the service is terrible. We're a local family that made it a point to come to dinner here at least once a month but our last visit was the last nail in the coffin. The younger waitress has never once smiled and has is always been all business but at least she doesn't bully and antagonize her tables. The chef was gruff, rude, and treated us noticeably different from all of the tables. When he brought out our bottle of wine and I said "yay that looks great!" he paused, gave me a dirty look, and said "you're determined not to have a good time, aren't you?"-- despite this being the first thing I said to him and his waitstaff directly beyond our order. Shocked, and not wanting to ruin the dinner for my dining companion, I brushed it off, but promised myself I would not return. The chef makes it a habit to complain about how busy he is, how understaffed he is, but also how long people take at tables-- and also seemingly makes arbitrary decisions about who and what he takes offense to. If the chef stays in the kitchen and gets waitstaff that understand what providing good customer service for -everyone- looks like, we'll be back, but at this rate and reading other reviews it looks like pigs will fly before that happens!

Then came the ham croquetas (the flavor changes daily, and we lucked out with my favorite), mini albóndigas (tender beef meatballs in tomato sauce) and champiñones (mushrooms in a rich brandy sauce). Every dish was flavorful and felt homemade. For dessert, we had the Torta de Santiago (almond cake), which was the special of the day -- light, nutty, and the perfect finish. The service was amazing. If you're looking for authentic Spanish tapas, this place is a must-try.

Honestly, that was hands-down, the best thing. For our main, I ordered the Mediterranean Benedict. They made the Benedict. Perfect, I love the prosciutto with it. It does come on top of a focaccia bread. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the sweet potato fry squares. I'm not crazy about sweet potatoes and I didn't read the menu to see to get something else. Also, the Greek churro was so good with the feta whip. This is definitely a really cute place. Everyone who works there is so kind and polite. It is definitely worth a stop in for brunch.

The restaurant itself was cozy and intimate - it kind of gives you a NYC restaurant kind of vibe which was nice to see on Long Island. I would note that it was freezing out and all the cold air came in when the front door opened. This made it very uncomfortable - I wonder how it is when it's really hot outside. Also, because it is a small restaurant, noise levels could be elevated. Spicy dumpling soup - very good but dumpling had no flavor. Probably store bought. Fluke carpaccio - very good. Some shrimp appetizer - shrimp was small and sauce was almost like a curry sauce. I would pass. Sushi platter - very good. Nigiris are pretty small. This won't fill you up. Grand wazoo roll - this was okay, torched squid was a little tough. Isn't she lovely roll - this was okay. Steak with potatoes and brussels sprouts - not much steak but very tender. Brussels sprouts were nicely cooked. Overall, a good experience especially with the service being top notch. While sitting on the high top worked, it took away from the experience. I would get a regular table or sit at the sushi bar. We were also distracted from the cold air coming in that my wife had to wear her coat. If you like a modern take on sushi, I think you would like this place but if you're looking for something more traditional, I would look elsewhere.
