    Yummy tannat

Let's get into it!!!!! If you're a wine girly like me this is the place for you. The have an extensive list of different wine options. Some seasonal wine specials and signature cocktails. We opted for the tannat by the glass it was a nice option but we ended the night with a full body babe Bordeaux it was absolutely delicious flavorful, deep, smooth all the things I look for in a red. We had a meat and cheese charcuterie. Dry salami and fontina. Our favorite part of the board was the organic honey right off the comb! Yummm. Baked clams were good a tiny bit over cooked but the crumbs layer and sauce was light and tasty! The tzatziki spread and pita was perfect and fresh. We ordered the Bagoli to share. Skip it! Just no! The star of the show the meritage chip which it was SO good! The cookie the ice cream it was an elevated version of your childhood delight. I would go back there just for that chip which. The ambiance was instaworthy. Perfect for date night, girls catch up, or a nice glass of wine and chip which all by yourself. The staff was so sweet, attentive, personable and kind. Iris the manager checked in on us frequently, shared some of her life with us and honestly reminded of my favorite aunt! Nikki and Cesar both gave great service! Looking forward to coming back.

Was looking for a new place to try and my friend found this nice place and suggested so we came to try while in the area for dinner. Was easy to make reservations online through OpenTable. Wow, this place is nice and service and staff were very good. They have a bar area with tvs if you are coming to watch sports or just want to sit by the bar for coctails and bites. Main dining was pretty spacious and I believe they have a back room as well. Tables are spaced apart - good for a little social distancing without sitting on top of each other. Menu looked good and had a great variety of tapas and entrees. Same for beverages. For Yelpers, your first check in (while offer lasts) show the offer to get one complimentary spread for the table. Choose from the list. Tzatziki spread was good with the pita bread (complimentary with Yelp check-in offer). Shared appetizers for the table: Burrata and brussel sprouts were good, and meatballs (just ok for me). Everyone else liked it. Entrees: Loved the seabass with pancetta, snap peas, succotash. Definitely would order this again. Friends had maltagliati and burger and fries which were also good. Our server recommended other dishes as well, which will try next time as we make our way around the menu. The only thing was that all the food came at once. I thought our server asked if we wanted appetizers all at once or whenever it was ready...that is why I said whenever they are ready. Usually appetizers come before the main entrees...but no worries, it was all good and very filling :) Drinks: Pepsi came with free refills. Will try cocktails next time... Desserts: Have to come back and make room for it! :) Parking - either street parking or park in the free downtown parking lot and walk over 2 blocks.

This is a must see place; great energy, food and environment. Alex, Ana and Iris are the people you want around all the time, so grateful for their hospitality. Definitely try their Burger, the tartar and the Charcuterie board.

One of my favorite local restaurants because of their amazing food and drinks. I normally order a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board, but I wanted to try something different this time. My sister got a lemon drop mocktail which was a little sour, but just the right amount. She said it was delicious I had the Penelope Pussycat which had Bacoo 8 year aged rum, Liqueur de Violette, and lemon juice. The drink had such a pretty color and had an interesting flavor to it as well! For appetizers, we had the Gambas al Aljillo which had a nice corn salsa to go along with it. We also had the Roasted Cauliflower which was cooked perfectly and the Beef Kushiyaki which came with chilled soba noodles. The Beef Kushiyaki was something so unique that I would not have thought I was in a wine bar. It was so flavorful! For our entree we got the Black Truffl'd Fettucine. The pasta was a bit bland, and I was surprised because I usually always order that pasta and it's my favorite. I think the sauce might have been a bit watered down. For dessert we had some tea and the Meritagewich' which comes with homemade chocolate chip cookies. The tea and dessert was perfect for a cold day! I definitely recommend trying this place out with a few friends and ordering a bunch of small plates to share. This way you can try a bit of everything. I really loved every single small plate we ordered! Thank you so much to the staff that made our experience a pleasant one

Literally just left this place & had to review right away. Such a cute, cozy wine bar with a full menu & a wide variety of wines if you're only coming for wine. Iris our server was the absolute best. She was so attentive & gave her best recommendations from drinks to entrees. I had the margarita which was soooo good & sweet & spicy just like the name. Definitely a must try if you like margaritas. The coconut curry mussels were our favorite but a small portion so if you're sharing you may want 2 orders. The spicy feta spread was also great for a starter. I definitely will be planning a girls night here.

    Wine tasting dinner tonight

Meritage Wine Bar is a neighborhood gem, its the crown jewel of Glen Cove. A social media pop up mentioned there is a wine tasting dinner on Thursday night. I called the restaurant and made a reservation to secure a table. Pulling up, the police had the street blocked off for outdoor dining and pedestrian traffic flow. We walked in and are greeted by the owner Alex. He's trying to juggle saying hello to all the neighborhood customers as well as starting the wine pairing event. The wine event is centered around a Australian Shiraz called Two Hands and all the food being served is paired to complement the wine. The wine? It's a big, not too bold punchy red wine with lots of jammy notes. I assumed a wine dinner and you would get "a" glass of wine with dinner but this is not the case. The wine kept flowing as Alex explained the wine region as well as the wine making process. The first course comes to the table, a beautiful Poached Pear arugula salad. Tossed with an Apple Vinaigrette, it's topped with valdeon bleu cheese and toasted walnuts, this was a welcoming starter dish. Our main entree was Beef Chile Colorado. The chef went to every table to introduce himself while the main course was being served. He explained how he pressed each tortilla shell by hand this morning for this special event. How he paired the black beans and cilantro-lime rice and letting the meat get tender by prepping all day. After all the preparations, we were served a beautiful dish. It just hit me, the event tonight was a labor of love. Folks, you can go to any wine bar and they could put together a meat & cheese charcuterie plate. I'm sure Meritage Wine Bar has one as well. What I'm not seeing at any Long Island wine bar is a meal prepared with this much attention to detail. The dessert was the same way. The Sous Chef came to our table and explained how he let the Fugi apples seep all day. The dessert was paired with an amazing ice wine. Alex explained to all of us how the grapes are frozen purposely to yield a higher sugar content. The end result was a dessert wine that complemented their perfect ending to a surprising unexpected meal. With so much negativity taking place today, it was my pleasure to dine with the Glen Cove community and to see everyone enjoying this event. A true labor of love that showed in each course.

I was looking around online for a special place to eat last week and I had bookmarked Meritage Wine Bar. We finally had the chance to dine here and it did not disappoint although it was a bit of a drive. We came here relatively early so it wasn't crowded, but I made a reservation for 6 people, just in case. When we arrived, we were greeted by a gentleman sitting in the front of the restaurant, whom I assume is the owner because he was on his computer. He let us pick where we wanted to sit which was very nice. Our waiter, Tyler, was very attentive and helpful. We also had our waters constantly filled which was great. The mango ginger sage cocktail was delicious - probably one of the best cocktails I've ever had. We ordered a charcuterie & cheese board and it was SO good. I would recommend the Cremeux De Bourgogne! We also had the mussels in fra diavolo sauce and the meatballs. The only complaint we had was that the French fries were placed in the sauce with the mussels so they were soggy. We wish they were placed on the side. For entrees, we all got something different. I had the seafood paella which was *chef's kiss*. The scallop was the best part and the spicy kick it had was perfect from the chorizo. My husband finished his chicken banh mi in record time because it was that good, my MIL enjoyed her sea bass, my SIL raved about her pork chop, and my FIL loved his burger. Overall, our dining experience was superb at Meritage. Not sure if they have a dessert menu because we weren't offered any but that's ok. I would definitely eat here again. The restaurant is cute and the atmosphere is nice. It was worth the drive.

Great addition to Glen cove, I have had my eye on this wine bar for quite some time but hardly ever go out in glen cove so I finally got my chance to try it out last week. No reservations , just walked in and chose an outdoor table, it was nice I was able to have my little 4lb dog with me as well , he loves fine dining too hehe Ordered an octopus appetizer , octopus was tender and delicious , I would most definitely order this app again,Also Ordered the white wine mussels which was very filling and delicious , at the bottom of the bowl they had French fries that were soaked in the white wine sauce yum yum yum My daughter ordered the tzatziki spread with pita bread for an app and pasta with grilled shrimp that was also tasty. I didn't get to try as much as I would like to because it was only the two of us but I would love to return with a bigger group and order the whole entire menu haha . Service was great , our server even brought a bowl of water out for our little doggie which I thought was so sweet. I will be back soon to try some more off the menu .

Cacio e Pepe Dinner Small Plate

My fiancé and I just had our Valentine's Day dinner here and we were raving about it the whole time we were there and on the way home. We've been wanting to do a wine tasting and they had 3 options to choose from. I tried the "Francais Classique" that had a Chardonnay, a cotes du Rhone, and a Bordeaux and my fiancé got the "Full Bodied Red" flight that had a red blend, a barbera, and a Cabernet. All of the wines were delicious! I don't even enjoy Chardonnay but it was good. With our flights we got the charcuterie and cheese board where you pick 3 options. We chose speck, prosciutto di Parma, and fontina. All boards come with amazing bread from St. Rocco's that is so fluffy and perfectly grilled, fig jam, red olives, cornichons, and walnuts. The fontina was so soft and flavorful and the meats were amazing. The board has nice portions and was all around amazing. We then shared the small plates of cacio e pepe and calamari. Both were perfect. I would have added a little more pepper to the cacio e pepe but it was still so delicious. The calamari was great and the sauce was the best!! Two things that make a calamari dish are the sauce and if it has legs. Check and check! Lastly we split the banh mi sandwich that comes with either chicken or steak. We chose chicken and though I was not totally interested in this sandwich, my fiancé wanted to try it. I am so glad he did! It was amazing! Fresh, spicy, delicious!! It has arugula, pickled papaya, thai chilies, honey sriracha, and cilantro (which I hate but didn't notice to my pleasant surprise) on French bread which just like the bread from the board, was perfect!! Our waiter (I think his name was Tyler?), was perfectly attentive. Nice young kid that checked in an appropriate amount of times and was on top of everything. We wanted extra sauce for the calamari (like I said, it was soo good) and he brought it to us so quickly. We were impressed as more often than not at other places, you wait a while or in worse scenarios, don't even get it. We were also impressed at how spacious the restaurant is. In pictures it looks small inside but has several little alcoves. Everything is spaced out perfectly for covid safety. We had such a great time and already spoke about things we'd like to try when we come back which I really look forward to.

It's my favorite happy hour place. A bottle of wine and Charcuterie & Cheese for $30 is a steal. Except lately they have been out of a lot of the wines. Only a few choices. The Crispy Calamari and The Meatballs are my favorite. Fresh Blue Point Oysters are $1.50each. They also make good pasta dishes. Nice atmosphere to hang out with friends. The bartender is very kind and friendly.

The food is really good here and I really recommend it for a date night or just for a casual chill night. The ambiance is really nice and typically a darker setting inside. The drink I got was a lemon drop cocktail it was really good! A little bit of lip pucker but also some sugar on the rim really did it- so refreshing. The portions were pretty generous and the display was super colorful and beautiful. I recommend the cauliflower fondue that is one of my favorite dishes I get every time I go, it's sooo good! I recommend to give it a try!

The ambiance was very nice though and the seating comfortable with booths and comfortable chairs. Overall fun nicely decorated spot but don't think I'd go again.

Food we got the pan con jamon, garlic shrimp, patatas bravas, shisito peppers and the plancha burger. The sangria was very good. Juicy, not overloaded with BS fruit and just very flavorful. The bread is like a toasted baguette cut into 4 triangles topped with piquillo salsa, arugula and jamon. Pretty good, I was surpised there wasn't pan con tomato but it was still enjoyable. This is a bit more on the acidic side so if you don't like things too tangy - might not be for you. Patatas bravas, classic with aioli and bravas sauce. Shisito peppers blistered, a bit of finishing salt and lemon. Garlic shrimp was cooked well, personally I'd like a bit more garlic in mine and some bread to mop would be nice but still tasty. Plancha burger was definitely our favorite. It's a blend of wagyu sirloin and chorizo, so it's very juicy with a nice smokiness. Very pleasantly surprised and definitely will be back to try some other things.
