I really wish you would open a butcher shop here too. Long Island does not have a good Spanish butcher, and that is one of the things I miss most about living in Queens, the amazing food and butchers. Life really came full circle when I got to bring my 10-month-old son here, and he loved everything . The food is always so fresh and full of flavorful. The morcilla is rich , creamy and perfectly seasoned( they make the best morcilla I age ever had) and the empanadas are my absolute favorite with their flaky golden crust and authentic homemade taste. The meats and sides are just as incredible. The Russian potato salad is creamy and refreshing, the potato with parsley has that perfect balance of simplicity and freshness, and every bite of meat is tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The chimichurri ties it all together with bright garlic and herbs that make every dish pop. Thank you for staying consistent all these years. The food is always seasoned perfectly and made with care. I also love that you still serve the free appetizer of fresh bread, cheese, salami, and tomato. It is such a classic touch and still one of my favorite parts of the meal.

They remember customers by name and genuinely make you feel like family. The menu is extensive, but what stood out most was the quality. The Friday shrimp bisque was creamy and loaded with baby shrimp. The chicken and waffle sliders were excellent, and the waffles were so soft and fresh that I honestly didn't even need the maple syrup. The Rise n' Shine Quesadilla was such a great modern breakfast option, packed with eggs, bacon, avocado, black beans, pico de gallo and plenty of cheese. The grilled steak panini was another standout -- the steak was cooked perfectly and was much better than what I'd normally expect from a diner panini. Of course, being at a diner, I had to try something Greek. The gyro wrap was excellent, with thinly sliced, tender and flavorful gyro meat. The biggest surprise for me was the Barolo Braised Short Ribs over whipped potatoes. The portion was huge, the short rib was fork-tender, and the quality honestly felt more like something you'd expect from a full-service restaurant. This was diner food elevated. They also make their desserts in-house downstairs. I tried the individual apple pie and strawberry cheesecake, and I loved that each one was its own little pie instead of just a slice. Both were adorable and delicious. Imperial Diner also has a full bar, curbside pickup and an outdoor patio when the weather is nice. You really don't have to be a "diner person" to enjoy this place. Between the food quality, huge variety and genuinely kind family behind it, Imperial Diner absolutely deserves to be in the conversation with the better diners on Long Island. I thoroughly enjoyed everything I tried and will definitely be back.

While my friend picked up a complementary sandwich combo, I ordered the Chicken Breast Stew from the restaurant's Punta Cana menu for $16.30, with tax. The flavors of the chicken, stewed carrots and potatoes were good; but the chicken was very dry, and the rice and beans felt like school cafeteria food. This dish might have been better had it included some stew. The $1.00 Mac and Cheese add-on was bland, and a very small portion. The spicy cilantro sauce was quite good. The server kindly inquired about our parking situation, noting that parking tickets are issued quickly in the area. There is on-street metered parking in front of the store, and as well as a metered parking lot around back. This is a small restaurant without customer-accessible restrooms.
