I always stop at Main St. Fish & Chip when I'm in hempstead, NY. This "hole in a wall" joint is the definition of "hood spot with good food" I often get the steamed crab legs, & the container of broccoli, corn, carrots & onions. The restaurant add potatoes at no additional cost. This usual ranges from $26-$30 depending on the weight of the crab legs. More legs = mo money. But so worth it. The food is usual ready between 15-20mins. They season it with adobo, old bay & black pepper. Then when the food is ready you have the option to top it off with butter and lemon juice at no additional cost. This is a fish market so you have other options such as snapper, filet, clams, mussels, lobsters. Can be done steamed or fried.

It's been years since I've eaten here I used to work down the street from this restaurant, always loved their fried Whiting sandwiches. So today I decided to check it out again. The place is also a fresh fish and seafood market. Place was very clean the counter staff was friendly and helpful offering both fried and steamed seafood dishes. I ordered my fried whiting sandwich along with other decadent and delicious fried seafood delight's. (Catfish shrimp and scallops) everything was delicious the wedding brought back memories I don't know if the same folks on this place but it's still a good bargain. I recommend you give it a try'

Giving this place 5 stars because it is the only fish spot in the area (that I've known of in the past 5 years) that steams and fries seafood. It's also the closest thing than the fish spots in the Bronx and Harlem that I'm used to. I've been coming here for years and the two ladies are always very nice and accommodating by giving you whatever fixin's you want. My go to is the 20 shrimp steamed with broccoli, corn, and potatoes (I'll add some salmon and clams if i'm feeling fancy...or greedy). AND 2 fried crab sticks. The wait is abouuuut 15 minutes for the steamer and 10 for the fryer. They also have a large selection of fish and live crabs and the place NEVER smells disgusting.

Love coming here when I'm in Nassau visiting my dad. Fish is fresh and well prepared. They have a huge selection of fried and steamed food on the menu and it is decently priced.

    The menu.

A seafood extravaganza. You can order off the menu or choose from the fresh fish counter and have it cleaned and cooked while you wait. They both fry or steam. A constant line of costumers are always present. I love the DIY feel of this restaurant / market. I highly recommend.

The inside of my fish was gray and had a jelly like texture.....NOT FRESH!!!!!!!!!!

Housed in a landmark Floral Park building, this gem has a warm ambiance with low lighting, leather booths, and quiet background coffee-sleepy-jazz in the background (Though, as a fan, I wish they hadn't messed with the Sly and the Family Stone's "If You Want Me To Stay" :D). There is an inviting large bar, an open kitchen, and a large private room in the back. The menu is American classics made with premium ingredients. Although his place is known for their single malt whiskey, craft beer and signature cocktails, only one at our table had a cocktail: EZ Money made with gin, prosecco, lemon, cucumber and St- Germain Elderflower Liqueur. I will look at their wine list next visit. As for the food, the garlic bread and calamari did not disappoint. Our table ordered a variety of dishes. A unique rotisserie chicken salad sandwich, a salmon bowl, and an order of mussels. Each dish was a win. I chose a great mesclun green salad and had to try the double smash burger, a mouth-watering proprietary blend of prime chuck, brisket and short rib which I'd have to talk myself out of not re ordering with my next visit. From family gatherings and office parties to intimate date nights, The Harrison offers an ambiance and menu designed to satisfy both the casual diner and the most discerning palate.

I wish it wasn't just a special but a main stay because I'd definitely order that each and every visit. It was that good. I was apprehensive about the gnocchi since im not a big gnocchi fan in general but so many people have sung of it's praises so I decided to try it. Easily one of the best dishes I've had this year. The flavors were so perfectly balanced. It taste of the toasted sweet potato gnocchi was something I didn't expect but was pleasantly surprised. Kept it more simple for entrees because the starters were so rich and indulgent. We had the filet mignon and the steak sandwich. Both perfectly portioned and delicious. Ended with the stroopwafel cheesecake, it wasn't too sweet which was nice. The service was great, I love how the manger was so hands on and checking in with tables. There was an older couple nearby celebrating their anniversary and the manager came over and surprised them with a mini bottle of champagne and congratulated them. That really was so thoughtful! Definitely top tier care and service.

Big pot, loaded with flavor, and honestly enough to make you question ordering anything else. Seafood tastes fresh across the board, and the sauces actually matter here (not an afterthought). Great energy if you're out with friends, less ideal if you're trying to have a conversation. It gets noisy--no way around that. Service was solid--attentive without hovering, which is what you want when you're juggling a pot of mussels and drinks. Only knock: it's pricey. But to be fair, you're paying for quality seafood and a pretty unique Belgian bistro experience (and a massive beer/cocktail program).

It was my first time ever having a chili dog, and it turned out to be a great choice. The chili dog was huge. I also had a root beer, which made the whole combo even better. The service and the young lady was very friendly and attentive. Our food came out quickly, and she made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The ambiance was relaxed and very casual. It felt clean, comfortable, and inviting, with a laid back vibe perfect for a quick bite or a casual meal. The P.S. Burgers made my first chili dog experience a memorable one. This is exactly how a business can lose stars…read more Going in to dine on Friday 2/20/26 my plus one and I had a entirely different experience from the first visit, in which the female employee influenced our return and patronage. Dressed casually in this casual setting that was well lit. We came to take advantage of a deal that was advertised "combo BOGO 50% off" within the hours of the promotion, but we were taken advantage of! Asking the employee for the advertised combo he specifically and directly point at the sandwich menu which was significantly higher priced starting at $18. It looks like a steak sandwich, I asked if it was a burger, he stated that it comes like a burger. So we each ordered that and with onion rings. He stated that they come with French fries, we said we wanted to have onion rings for an extra charge. I'm starting to notice a language comprehension challenge in the exchange as he kept saying that the sandwich comes with fries, He later confirms our order minus fries and stated that there's $.75 extra. Sitting down viewing the aesthetics as stated previously, we started observing the menu closer and noticed that the menu says " burger combos" starting at $11. Questions does arise about the promo. Talking to the employee, asking why does the menu say combo and you pointed to the sandwich, his reply was that sandwiches are the only combos that they have. I replied but that sign says sandwiches and the other menu says burger combos and you pointed to the sandwiches, why would you point to the sandwich. I was looking for his guidance into the right direction. If looks could kill, he'd be serving a life sentence. I interpreted the look as he was caught in a trap with no way out because he said they only had one combo. So he admitted, after interrogation that we could have ordered the P. S Burger combo. His tactics to spend my money was misleading in every shape form or fashion. The sandwiches (not a burger even though it looked like a burger) had chunks of steak and was falling apart every time you bit into it, leaving chunks of meat in your mouth, that you must now negotiate in order not to choke. We could have walked away happy and satisfied spending $18 minus tax. Instead I spent $18 on one sandwich for a total of $28.5. ( 2 orders of onion rings and the BOGO) To add, they bring you the food, put a tip jar out, and expect you to tip on top of being taken for $10 extra. So the extra went into revenue, not the tip jar. I actually thought P.S Burger would add to our palate but it's just not going to work out. The employee's actions led us to spend more than intended, and that affected the overall experience. But still.... Inspire more, Yelp more!
