This is really a beautiful place that's going to waste because the chef is so bad. I had shrimp and grits. It's a very simple dish but he took it to a level. That was absolutely ridiculous and made it horrible. The service here is great. the personnel are very friendly, and if they change the chef, I will come back

Jacmel is a great dining experience any time I have been on a non holiday. And because of that, my husband made reservations for Valentines 2026. When we were sat down, we were placed at a table for two in a very narrow "hallway" and forgotten about for the first 25 minutes of getting drink order. After we ordered, it took even longer to get a soup. When the soup (tomato basil) came out, it was in a very small cup. We enjoyed the soup for taste, but for the long wait, the temp of the soup was barely warm. Second course we ordered the Alfredo. That took long as well. Came out on saucer size plates, mine was dry and tasteless and room temp, my husbands plate a a few more noddles and reasonable amount of sauce. Both plates had enough noodles for 4 bites of food. Then I had the pork Ragu with a polenta cake. Again, pork barely warmed and polenta room temp. Pork had fatty pieces in it and the flavor was rich. I ate a few bites before I couldn't eat anymore pork due to the flavor and fat. The polenta had a delicious crust, but middle was bland and unappealing. Therefore, I did not get to eat. My husband ordered the filet and he enjoyed his. I ate his mashed potatoes which was delicious. As well as we shared his asparagus. Then I was excited about dessert because I love bread pudding. We had to leave so we asked for that to go. Very disappointed when they brought it out. Two bites each. NEVER again will we choose Jacmel for our romantic dinner plans. For the price, including a $50 tip, we could have ate at a very high scale restaurant.

The food and service were incredible. Our server suggested us some things and she was absolutely on point. The sourdough board was incredible and the bread pudding was everything you want it to be. Will definitely be back! Perfect for our one year anniversary

Still our favorite restaurant in Hammond. Beautiful inside and out, with excellent service, music and lighting at the right level, and top flight food and drink. On this occasion we had the grilled oyster and andouille appetizers and the drum and ribeye entrees, and they were delicious, as were the Salty Duck and Brown Butter Old Fashioned cocktails. We will be back soon.

I had made reservations for my anniversary. I've never been here before with living here my whole life! I've been missing out. When we arrived the table was decorated for our anniversary and champagne. The server was excellent at describing everything and helping us pick items. The appetizer was delicious, andouille arancini. The sauce it came with knocked it out the park. Dinner was great I got the crispy skin duck breast and my husband got the three mushroom risotto with chef Brandon's lamb shank. I recommend this place to everyone.

This was our first visit yo Jacmel Inn, it came highly recommended by a friend. The building is real quaint on tbe outside, its definitely a hidden gem in Hammond. The inside of the restaurant was really cozy with fireplaces lit. We were pleasantly greeted by the hostess and seated after a short wait. There was a nice crowd there. We were seated in a little corner on the 2nd floor right nect to a little fireplace. The server was really friendly and very attentive. She made us feel really comfortable and very knowledgeable about the menu. The restroom has one stall, but it was clean. The food was delicious. They give you warm bead while you waut. We had the crab cake for appetizer and then the mushroom soup. The crab cake was really good, different with the sauce and black eyed peas and lima beans. The mushroom soup was surprisingly tasty. I had the brunch bowl and my husband had the shrimp and grits. We both enjoyed our plates. Definitely a great place to eat

Food. The tremendous amount of seasoning on the three small shrimp on a soggy ceasor salad could not hide the less than fresh taste .

Jacket is highly over priced and the service is terrible. Waited 40 minutes before someone came to the table. Then it's cold inside here.

Ask about the specials, and prepare yourself to be impressed. The kitchen staff obviously take pride in the work they do to produce such unique renditions of traditional favorites while still respecting the dish's origins. Awesome creativity going on in the back, for sure! Great food, great drinks, great service, wonderful place. If you haven't been, go see what you've been missing. Favorite appetizer: Bille's Bacon. Available with fried or grilled shrimp, or fried oysters on top of a THICK slab of bacon. Seafood rests on generous amounts of Gorgonzola cheese, and the Calabrian chili honey glaze drizzle just puts the kiss on top. KILLER grub! I had the grilled shrimp. Gulf shrimp, of course.

Pretty dope Italian spot in Hammond! OpenTable brought me and fellow teammates here for a couple…read moreteam dinners. Located in the downtown area of Hammond, this may be my favorite restaurant in the area and for good reason! The interior has the right amount of lighting to give an intimate feel and there's plenty of indoor seating where tables can be pushed together for large parties. The bar area is also comfy if you're looking to pop in for a glass of wine or a cocktail. Speaking of which, there's plenty of wine by the glass and featured bottle wines. It doesn't have as expansive of a bottle wine menu like other Italian spots but they don't need to as they offer about a dozen wines each from the USA and from the Italy/Spain/Argentina regions. So you'll find whatever you need to suit your tastes. And then there's cocktails. All the classics (Cosmopolitan, Manhattan, Old Fashioned) are here with some Italian favorites like the Negroni. The popular ones amongst us were the Limoncello Spritz (think of a vodka sparkling lemonade), the Espresso Martini, and the Basil Cucumber Gimlet. Tasty and pretty presentations! As for eats, the shareables that are must-orders are the Italian Meatballs (served in polenta w/ spicy tomato sauce), the Calamari, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and Caprese Salad. These always made the table whenever we were here; the meatballs and brussels sprouts being the ones people couldn't stop eating. The turtle soup is also a good first course if you're going light. It was my first time having turtle soup and I enjoyed the heck out of it! For pastas/entrees, it depends how heavy you want to go. The pastas that we loved were the Fusilli and Casarecce. The Fusilli has a cajun spicy tomato base w/ shrimp, italian sausage, basil, and mushrooms; an excellent combination of ingredients for a delicious pasta dish. The Casarecce is more simple using a parmeson garlic cream sauce and a pan-fried breaded chicken breast on top. For entrees, the pork osso buco, duck breast, and diver scallops were all wonderful. The osso buco especially being super tender was a crowd-pleaser. They also have a filet mignon special w/ a fried potato cake and asparagus garnish finished in a red-wine demi glaze; this special was ordered by several people each time and had all of us oohhh'ing and ahhh'ing every time it was delivered. The filet is super tender and the potato cake is a great complimentary side to it. For dessert, we usually share the house cheesecake which has chocolate chips and caramel with a cookie crust; a perfect way to finish off the meal. That's if we save room for dessert! This spot is a must-visit and a place we plan to frequent whenever we're in Hammond. They also have a lot of gluten-free options in case you have a gluten intolerance. Do yourself a favor and check this spot out; you won't regret it!
