I went elsewhere and it turns out Matt's got my tread measurements wrong, and I was definitely overdue for a rotation. They also did not notice a gash in my tire. What? Why not? Won't you honor your own prices? Nope, he said. So I drove off and went to Jiffy Lube, where they had a Pennzoil Platinum oil change for $85.99. It was not the price so much at Grease Monkey as it was the technicians attitude, like he was pissed that I would even ask. That's a bad way to treat ANY customer. I will admit that I have not seen a $30 oil change advertised anywhere lately, but that's not what I needed. I figured $50 was fair for a synthetic blend, but it is too low compared to the advertised prices, which seem to be wrong. Like I said, attitude is everything, even more than the cost. I don't like feeling like the interruption of ANY business, as the customer. (P.S.--Grease Monkey's actual prices at this location are $30 higher for each service above).

The inspection was fast and reasonably priced and revealed four fixes for an equally reasonable price, and that they understood my intent was to keep my 2008 Nissan Rogue going for as long as I could. I was able to get an appointment fairly soon after I agreed to the fixes. They also gave me a discount after I posted a review of the initial experience with the inspection. I appreciated the respect, courtesy and lack of mansplaining. I also appreciate that they have a 12 month/12,000 mile guarantee for their fixes.
