Jack's Taps is a small taproom that is actually attached to Jack's restaurant. It has it's own entrance and beer selection and stands alone from the larger Jack's establishment. The staff was friendly, allowing us to try as many samples as we wanted and the selection of beer was excellent. Some people have complained that they cannot order off of the full menu at Jack's and this is true; if you want to go eat and Jack's it's only a few steps away people. Jack's Tap's does offer a bar menu. We got the lamb meatballs and pickled veggies. Delicious! read more

Much more comfortable vibe than the restaurant. Exceptional beer selection. Great Greek food. Most of my friends are industry people so when I say our server Brett was dope it means something. Everything here shines. read more

I really like jacks taps. It's very low key, really chill tap room. Good selection of rotating craft beer. Same food from jacks restaurant but with that chill vibe instead. However, it's a really small tap room. It gets crowded times. There's not a lot of chair or standing room in fact. Highly recommend if you're looking for a chill kick it spot! read more

Great selection of rotating taps. Most of the beers are different day to great, so you can really try different stuff. The playlist is always on point and you can order the full menu from Jack's, which is really good. read more

Absolutely fantastic late breakfast, had the country fried steak and eggs, with a biscuit, and a Bloody Mary. Too much good stuff left on the menu to try, will have to come back. read more

Went to Jack's Taps last night for the first time. I work in downtown Pleasant Hill, and we go to Jack's after work pretty often and it is ALWAYS packed, so i was pretty stoked when i heard just a tap room was coming. I guess the best part about Jack's Taps is the fact that i now have a watering hole just a few blocks from where i live and right across the street from where i work. They have craft beers on tap, where the restaurant did not, and the bar area and patio in the main restaurant have now been cleared out! Whats not so cool about Jack's Tap's is that if you sit in the main restaurant and want to order beer from the tap room, the waiter will tell you, you can go to the tap room yourself and order a beer and bring it back to your table, however, waitstaff cannot do that for you... huh? Same with food in the main restaurant. You can order food in the main restaurant and take it to the tap room, but food cannot be brought to you from the main restaurant to the tap room..... i ...think I've got it. anyways.... Jack's Tap's is trying to have their own identity is the explanation i was given, which i totally get, i just wish in that case, it wasn't attached to the main restaurant. Also.... its soooo small, that if a game is on and you did not particularly go there to watch a game, be prepared to either join the game crowd, punch out someone who is waaayyy to into the game, or leave. All in all of course I'll be back at Jack's Tap's, I might just wait till college basketball is over. read more

Okay I've eaten here twice now and I can say I love it. First trip I had the fish n chips and it was a great! Cooked to perfection, breeding was delish, and the fish was good sized pieces. The drinks are well made and generous on the alcohol. Second trip I was only feeling snackish and had the shrimp cocktail, which is also a little salad as well! It was the perfect size, a little costly but totally worth it. I forgot to take pictures both times because I just wanted to dive right into my food. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere! Thanks Jacks! read more

Amazing place to grab a beer as their tap is always rotating. Only downside is the food is from Jack's next door and it's hard to get a table as the bar is small. read more

Wonderful tap room, a great addition to Pleasant CA. Jack's hired amazing staff with the beer knowledge. I'm looking forward to be hanging out here quite often and so should you! read more

Just what downtown Pleasant Hill needed - a craft brew pub with 20 taps and something for everyone. Endless free tastings, not often seen and one offs (horchata almond milk stout) and enough IPAs to keep even the most cynical beer snob happy. Try it. A tad pricey ($6-&7) but good pub grub and friendly service. I will be back. read more

Jack's Taps - Let's go Warriors! - Gastropubs Near Me - Pleasant Hill, California

Great little tap room. Technically its part of Jack's restaurant, but my wife and I don't really think of it that way (per some of the comments about not having shared menus). When we go to Taps, that's really the focus. Servers have all been very helpful/knowledgeable concerning their brews and food. Recommendations have been very good. Samples are awesome. Brew menu changes regularly, so if you're not particularly adventurous (or flexible) this place probably isn't for you. In short, its a classy little tap room, great for after work wind down or quick dad and mom date hour. Another reason why downtown Pleasant Hill continues to be an awesome hub for the community. Now, if they'd only just open that much needed Trader Joe's. read more

Ended up getting a hazy IPA, which was recommended by the bartender, and it was great. They don't have happy hour for drinks, only for food. It's a nice place to hang out and grab a drink with a friend! read more

Pros: a lot of different types of beer. Decent food menu with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fries were good Cons: beer is overpriced. Also on the menu there weren't too many 16 oz beers. All were 13oz or 10oz for over $7. Seemed a bit ridiculous. Ordered the classic burger. Bun wasn't great. One of those buns that breaks easily. read more

Tried this place for the first time over the weekend and it was pretty good. Plenty of on tap beers - looking at the other photos posted the beers change but I don't know how often. Food was good enough I guess. The pretzel was the best, the sausages were dry. You can order off the full restaurant menu if you ask for one. I certainly go back to try the other food offerings. One downside is that the place is tiny and holding seats is difficult. Being there at 12:45 on a Sunday there were only three seats open. Get there with plenty of time to spare if you want to watch a game and make sure your whole party is with you. read more

Just wow. Nice brew pub in downtown Pleasant Hill that offers up the best beers of the area. I have always enjoyed the food and the servers at Jack's. Last night was great due to the Late happy Hour food and drinks. The nachos and calamari were delicious. Last night was even more enjoyable due to our server 'Mary'. Mary was not only super friendly , she was funny and very attentive. Keep up the good work 'Mary'. Hope to see you again. Great food and great beer with a constantly changing tap menu. The staff is great (remember your ID--they WILL check even if you look 40!). The tap room is our go to place for a chill dinner out during the week (not quite as busy) or for a Sunday lunch before a movie. read more

This restaurant suits for any occasion. The food is great. the service is outstanding, it is spacious and very well decorated. It is one of my favorite places - truly! - for any occasion. But, hey guys, be quiet:) it was too loud last time I've been there:)))) I know.... :) it is just because we like this place so much:) I am giving you 4 stars only just because you don't have too many choices for dessert! Awesome beer selection. Always a fund time. If you're looking for an upper class bar to go to and not feel dirty or scummy, go here.

Stopped in on the Day after Christmas. It was midweek but still a busy night because of the holiday. We walked in at 7:00 with 7:30 movie reservations, Brett was the bartender and he came to our table quickly to see what we wanted. We ordered cocktails and food at the same time. He knew from the way we ordered that we had a time limit and the drinks and food came and bill soon after so that everything was settled by 7:25. Great Job Brett. If I had to complain about anything, it's that I didn't read the menu descriptions. I would have had them hold the balsamic glaze on the wedge salad. My fault. read more

Hands down the best tap room in the east bay. Way better attitude than Hop Grenade or Fourth Bore, to the point where you honestly feel welcomed when you arrive at Jack's. They're NICE. How refreshing is that? And their beers, while (fashionably) dominated by IPAs, has a good number of porters, stouts, and tasty Belgian ales. Something for everyone. The bar menu is solid as well. LOVE Jack's Taps! read more

Awesome local beer spot. They always have a great selection and the service is friendly and helpful. You can order off the menu from Jack's. Wow, the variety of beer on tap is eclectic and wonderful. My first was: #1 Triple IPA "Track 7, Motherland" so awesome and completely HOPPY, I didn't really want to try another, but since two was my limit, I tried another to have a point of reference, such a good decision, The warm and friendly Bartender Emily suggested a less Hoppy but flavorful #2 IPA "Redwood Curtain, Sticky Fingers" My choice of pubs today was a reward to myself for the beginning of a new position at a nearby company. All I can say is, I must be one heck of a lucky guy just to find Jack's Taproom my first week in town. This will be my local, I guess the love of good brew and great music it's it's own reward. Join me for a pint, I am always smiling when I have a beer. Enjoy this place it is a real find. Emily offered a small taster of another beer, very nice Full of hops and leaning towards a Belgian beer. #3 Double IPA "Henhouse, Mr. October" I shall return often. read more

Deterred by the really long lines at the Urban Plates, my husband and I ducked in here for lunch. We shared a Thai steak salad and fish and chips. Both were delicious but didn't hold a candle to the beer. Oh the beer! We had an imperial stout, and it was oh so yummy with Coffee notes. The restaurant is affiliated with the Jack's restaurant and are in fact connected, physically with shared walk through and shared menus. Love having a new place to get quality beer on tap. read more

So I totally love this place but it needed to be bigger. Hard to find a table most evenings. Great selection of beer and wine.

This is an awesome extension of the Jack's restaurant. It's a little small and seating can be limited. They have a selection of about 20 local craft beers that are ever changing. You can order Jack's Tap's small plates or take a look at the full Jack's menu and they'll bring your food in from the restaurant. I don't think you can order the craft beers at the restaurant but you can go into the tap room then bring them into the restaurant. read more

First time visiting this restaurant. New to east bay so It was Surprisingly nice and quite big once you enter! Food is decent, had the breaded chicken breast and rigatoni. The chicken was tasty, portions seemed exceptionally large, rigatoni was over cooked and when I mentioned to our server he was very concerned and genuinely accommodating and made sure I was happy with everything I ordered. I was extremely appreciative towards his customer service and care towards his customers! My man had the NY steak. His portion huge too. Well cooked and seasoned, tasted good. Manager visited our table after learning about my rigatoni & offered a new plate as well. THIS place clearly prides itself on excellent customer service as I wasn't too concerned about the pasta but they knew I wasn't totally satisfied and this was not ok for them! He sent over a free dessert which was fantastic! We would return for a second try because of their customer service & give another dish a try. Portions were too large for my personal taste. It's merely a personal preference as in I prefer whole foods over a Costco type store. But over all experience was good! Thank you for caring about your customers. read more
