Seriously Jack's get your hours right! We take the time to try to support you and follow you through COVID craziness and your hours have been so screwy. We went there a couple of weeks ago on a weekend about 11am and it said you were closed only to have a bartender run out and say that you'd been open since 10am and she hadn't had one patron and she said "probably because of the hours on our door". Today...we purposely drove down to support you and your new hours on the door state 11:30am-8pm (as does this yelp website) and I walk in only to have what I assume is a Manager yell from the hallway (near the bathrooms), "are you here for a pickup? No, we are not open over there." I said, "okay, your hours are wrong again on your door." I walked out and he was still yelling from down the hall about something that I didn't understand. Whoever was the male manager on duty today at around 1pm should really try to provide better customer service. After taking time to find parking and then walk over to have lunch only to find that you were closed, no bueno. We went elsewhere. Just a shame because we love the great beer selection and delicious food. read more

My wife and I visited Jack's Taps last night for the second time and we love this place. We have lived in Pleasant Hill for the past six years and Jack's has been our favorite restaurant and now Jack's Taps is our new favorite spot to grab a beer. There are 20 beers they rotate so their selection was completely different each time with visited. The beers we had were good and we also enjoyed some of their appetizers too which were great. The service was great as well. We will definitely be back. read more

This place was great for service, and wow, the food selection was extremely extensive. The bartender was very knowledgeable of all of the beers on tap; the only slight against the bar is that it does not allow samples for sours or "special" beers. I think that's a bit cheap when businesses do it, because it would help a lot for someone that likes sours (like me) and doesn't want to blow $10-15 on a beer that they don't like. read more

Jack's Taps is an offshoot of Jack's Restaurant in Pleasant Hill. It is located next door/attached to the restaurant. We decided to try it out on a recent Friday night. The place was pretty busy, but we didn't have to wait that long for a seat. The place isn't that big, but it offers both seating at the bar as well as separate tables. The bartender/staff can get pretty busy, so depending on their level of business, the service may not be that great. But, overall, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My fiance asked for the bartender's recommendation for an IPA and he was pretty helpful. My fiance ended up ordering the IPA that he recommended and was not disappointed. You can also order food at Jack's Taps. We asked for a menu, since we thought we'd also order a snack. Despite giving us a menu, the bartender never really came back to see if we wanted to place an order. Since we were pretty indifferent about eating anything, we just let it go. If we're in the area and interested in beer, we will probably give Jack's another try. read more

We've been here a few times but tonight was by far the best visit. Sal was our server and I'd have to say he's the best one yet. Yes they've all been great but Sal had so much personality and was very nice. He recommended items and even went out of his way to get things we asked for. We found out he had just started serving on his own not to long ago and I'd have to say he's a pro. As a manager myself I believe this is a person I would want on my staff. I had a really great experience here last Friday night. The bar was packed there was one seat left and I set them by the gentleman who is really sweet and kept me company. The bartender recommended a beer for me it was a red ale. Cute spot behind a restaurant. Bartender was very friendly and attentive. Beer rotate and was glad to see a variety. We shared a chili Mac and cheese. Very good Mac and cheese would have enjoyed a more chili. I would try another Mac next time because the cheese and gooeyness was good. read more

Great beer selection with an awesome staff who really go out of their way to help you make great choices based on your likes and food pairings as well . The biggest reason I wrote this post is because their wings are incredible . Hard to find great wings.... most bars/ pubs usually use the bigger size wings and think they do their customers a favor because there is more meat but fail to realize the quality suffers greatly . Jacks definitely does a classic Buffalo style wing with a perfect portion of meat and an awesome sauce . Also cannot beat the happy hour price of $6 bucks either ! Great place . read more

First time here. Atmosphere is nice..upscale sports bar type of place. I had a bourbon and ordered the NY steak (which they claim is angus) with spinach, sautéed mushrooms and wedge potatoes. I hate to say it but I was quite disappointed with the food. I ordered the steak medium rare but it was nearly well done, tough and covered with a thick Gorgonzola cheese that was nothing less than overpowering. I struggled to find any redeeming qualities to this steak as the flavor was all about the cheese. The spinach and sautéed mushrooms were much more in line with expectations, but borderline cold...I'll be generous and call it room temperature. Wedge potatoes were fine but only two medium sized pieces... about 1/4 of a russet potato. Service was good, the atmosphere is nice, but I won't be back. read more

I highly recommend Jack's! I am a happy repeat customer. The place is very clean. The food is awesome! The ambient is very enjoyable. I have been there in morning, for lunch and dinner. Always the same! I became a regular, all do to high customer satisfaction! Another nice addition to Pleasant Hill. This area is coming up as a go to spot. Not being a huge beer drinker, I had several recommendations and got the sample size. They were all delicious. It helps that they have knowledgeable beer advisers to steer people in the right direction for their taste. Having dined at Jacks restaurant often I was pleased to see that they have an entirely different menu of bar bites in the tap room. I had to try it all because everything on the menu is old school faves, like home made chips and onion dip, deviled eggs, soft pretzel with cheesy beer dip and tasty lamb meatballs in a skillet...just to name a few. Looking for a brewpub, our search yielded this place, new to us. We stopped in for Sunday lunch, and were delightfully surprised. The ambience was casual, and the beer list was superb. M'lady ordered the Tuscan (roasted veggie) sandwich, our visitor had the Reuben, and I had the Catfish Po'Boy. We were all very happy with our meals, finishing them off despite the quantity of food. Accompanied by good beer and a busy but cheerful hostess, it was just the experience we hoped it'd be, and we'll be back. read more

Very busy and we went on a Thursday. We had reservations but got their earlier so they sat us. Didn't take forever. We had the coconut shrimp and calamari appetizers. Both equally delish. All taste fresh. Even the salad under the shrimp was super tasty. We got the steak and salmon...both oh yea tasty! The salmon was so buttery omg I wanted to melt in it. The steak was perfectly cooked, the way I like and had me some delish mashed potatoes. The beer is good also. read more

Slow service. Didn't get order right. We had to have waitress correct charges. Food was decent. But nothing to brag about. We asked for pico de gallo but was told that it isn't offered for breakfast. But they said they'd make an exception and then charged us for a small amount. Also breakfast burritos weren't offered during weekend. read more

This is a great little place for good beer on tap and laid back atmosphere. Space/seating can be somewhat of an issue at times but it never seems to get overcrowded. I've been here about 4 times and the bartenders are always good. They give good suggestions for the beers on tap. read more
