We recently visited Jack's for the first time. Our meal was excellent. The service was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. The only slight negative was that the restaurant was quite warm. (It was a miserably hot day). But our server offered to move a fan by our table. So nice! My mom had the creamy gnocchi with mushrooms and vegetables. She said it was very good. My husband had the crispy chicken sandwich with onion rings, which he really enjoyed. I had the beet salad with walnuts and feta. Amazing! Truly one of the best salads I've ever had. Not sure why we've never tried Jack's before, but we'll definitely be back. read more

The ambiance was nice, the restaurant looked inviting, upscale and suggested fine dining. The Hostess was friendly and greeted us immediately. Both these two items were worth at least 4 stars but the food.... Well the food was not worthy of more than 1 star. I had the vegetable pasta in cream sauce. The dish came out a dingy brown and looked very unappetizing. The cream sauce while delicious had an unusual pairing of vegetables used, particularly the addition of baby potatoes wedges. My second bite in I had the unfortunate luck of eating a rotten potato. I stopped eating and immediately fished out all of the potato wedges and 3 of the 8 remaining were either partially black or shriveled rotten. Needless to say I had enough and just ate the pasta without any more of the vegetables. My companions had the vegetable flatbread and the gyro sandwich with onion rings. My friend said the flatbread was good but could have used a bit more balsamic. My Boyfriend said the gyro was good but the onion rings were cold. When the server came back to check on us he requested they be sent back to be dropped in fryer again. The food wasn't overpriced but the rotten and cold food won't have us returning anytime soon. read more

First time here and we got the meat skewer tower and had Noza as our server! She was the best! Suggested the Brazilian lemonade which was a first also and it was very good! All the meats were very tender and sides were all delicious! Fun place to eat! We will definitely be back! read more

I'm not generally a fan of Mediterranean style food, I really loved this place. I met some friends on a Saturday for a light lunch. We had the hummus and the skewer platter with chicken, scallops and shrimp. Everything was delicious! The service was excellent. And the ambiance was perfect. The exterior is a little deceiving - it looks like your run of the mill Applebees style restaurant, but it is really so good! Prices were decent as well. I'll definitely be back! read more

Please do not go to Jack's if you want to be served in a timely manner. Had a party of only 7. Went in at 6:15 and did not get out until 8:25. It took a very long time before the server came over to ask for a drink order. From the time we ordered our food and the time it came out was 53 minutes. 3 members of the party went up to ask why the food was taking so long. We were told it takes longer for large groups. There was only 7 of us. We did not order anything difficult. The place was not busy. When we finally left there was only 6 people in the place. I said good luck to them and they looked very bored. It seems the servers are tired of working there and just don't care. My guess the owners are tired of the place. Have been going to Jack's for years and have not had this problem before. Will not be going back with the bad experience, the bad excuse of why it took so long. Also they just don't seem to care if you are there. read more

Wow! We were looking for a nice local lunch spot while in town for Bloomington Gold Weekend. We were fortunate to find Jack's. The ambience is incredible, not what you would expect from the outside. The menu was unique and varied. I ordered the shrimp tacos off the special lunch menu and my wife got the margarita pizza. We think the pizza dough was rolled fresh to order and my tacos were delicious. The server was very attentive and pleasant. Highly recommend. read more

A good meal with friendly and attentive service. We started with the house salad which was the perfect size with a variety of toppings on the iceberg lettuce. The creamy herb was flavorful. Along with the salads we had the onion rings. Although they looked to be frozen, they were thick with a light, crispy batter...delicious. The tower of meat was cooked as each meat should be. Chicken and salmon were cooked through. The shrimp were done, but not overdone and the steak was medium. All were well seasoned. The only improvement would be to use a better cut of meat. Some of the pieces were a bit tough. The sides that came with the tower were rice, pita bread, grilled veggies, and onions rings. All went well with the meat and sauces. read more

A wonderful find on our way up to the Indiana Dunes! Jack's had a great mix of Mediterranean and American foods. The flatbread was crispy and very flavorful with a great variety of vegetables. I think they get busy for dinner but we went on a weekday when they opened at 11 and it was pretty quiet. Service was fast and they were very friendly! Upscale casual atmosphere (we were slightly underdressed) and very reasonable prices (less than $15 for most entrees). I highly recommend this place! Place is nice enough and decently clean. Good experience up until the last time. We've had some decent breakfasts until the last time. The service has always been good until we got our first young waitress which just disappeared our whole meal leaving an empty coffee cup and a need for a biscuit. When she did come back we were just ready to leave and were pretty much over the experience. Got the check and then just stood at the counter waiting to pay for probably almost 5 minutes while other employees just looked weird at us not coming up to take our payment. Probably not going to go back. Good thing is that I didn't bother to tip after I got my second dose of bad service just trying to pay them for the bad experience. read more
