Spur of the moment we decided to try this place and found it unexpectedly elegant and quite good. The menu was relatively limited but had a good variety of, if our choices were representative, excellent food. We tried the appetizer of truffle and black pepper deviled eggs which was very good and so rich we had to bring two home for later. My wife had the skewers of shrimp and found both the shrimp and vegetables to be very fresh and tasty. I had the lamb shepherd's pie. Everything we've had has been really delicious. My favorite is the fish taco. Oh my, oh my. So flavorful and you get large portions. I also get a side order of grilled veggies Too good for words. .y husband had the gyro tonight and it was fantastic!!!! The people who work there are very friendly. Went there the other day and we ordered the tower. Over priced, didn't taste very good. Scallops tasted like nothing. No salt no pepper literally nothing. Excellent presentation though, but for the amount you spend to buy it it's not worth it. 2 stars because the dinning room looks really nice and service was great. We also had the cheese curds which were you good but I mean I've also never had bad cheese curds. Also they're byob with no cork fee so that's a plus. The people were very nice and the staff was pleasant and attentive, and everything seemed clean and well organized. The food came out very quickly. However, the price was high for the amount of food you get. The potatoes were a bit underdone and over salted while the grilled vegetables was only a few pieces of asparagus with mushrooms that were also not very well cooked. The gyro was good but also $20. We were down in Blo-No for our daughter's graduation this weekend. An hour of picture taking turned into two, and we missed our 7:00 reservation at one of the more popular local eateries. After a dozen phone calls to every non-chain restaurant in town, we stumbled across Jack's. My daughter approved the menu and noted the 4+ star ratings, so we dialed them up. Given the town was full of graduates and their families, that there was no wait was a bit disconcerting, but we decided to take a chance nonetheless. Score! We were treated to some of the best Mediterranean/Greek cuisine we've had anywhere, including places in the greater Chicago area. The atmosphere was terrific for a small establishment and the service outstanding. The skewers are their specialty. My favorite was the ground lamb. And definitely order the eggplant dip appetizer! The best I've ever had. It occurred to us that the only reason they weren't jam packed was they don't serve alcohol. Bring your own bottle of wine and go there. They will not only supply the wine glass, but a mouth watering feast you won't soon forget. read more

Had dinner at Jack's for a date night on opening day. The atmosphere was beautifully crafted and an open layout. The staff seemed to be adjusting to the new space and operating, but were very helpful and checked in often. Our food came out in a timely manner and was full of Mediterranean flavor. The papas bravas was my favorite dish-a delicious starter- the sauces were flavorful and the potatoes were well cooked and perfectly crispy on the outside. We had the tamarind salmon and lamb bolognese for entrees. Both were full of flavor and were very filling portions. I enjoy saltier foods, the lamb was just a little heavy on the saltier side, but still very good. If you go for dessert, I highly recommend the Nutella crepe creme brûlée. Paired with fresh blueberries, the creme brûlée was a tasty finish to a great meal. We left full and happy. The front of house was organized and well kept, the bathrooms are very clean. I went here after my graduation and the food was amazing! The charcuterie board was a great appetizer and it's BYOB with is great. The only bad thing I'd have to say is our food took a long time to come out considering how small the place was I was surprised with how long it took. read more

Had dinner here with family on a Saturday night. The staff, service and food we're all top notch! We split the wood fired meat tower with skewers of chicken, steak, lamb, shrimp and salmon which were all delicious. We ended with baklava and chocolate mousse which were also excellent. Note that if you want alcohol, it's BYOB - or it was as of early March '21. Indoor dining was available and they were observing COVID protocols with masks on staff, etc. I'll gladly go back next time I'm in the area!! read more

Went in today for dinner, and was told there was was a 25 minute wait (which was no problem) the hostess took down my name and number. We sat out in the car and watch numerous people walk in. 40 minutes go by and there was still no communication about getting a table. I REALLY wanted to like this place, but it was a big let down! It may be because they recently opened, so they may need some time to perfect their recipes. We had the grilled octopus which was so bad, I had to spit them out. I have very well made and it was the BEST thing I ever ate. The octopus I had at this restaurant was very chewy and slimy. The ranch type sauce on top was confusing and did not go with this type of protein. We also the humus, which was free if you mention the weekly special. It was ok, but rather bland. We also had the fish tacos which where underdone and absolutely NO seasoning, side of fries where cold. I had the goat cheese and beet salad, dressing was very bland. Curry carrot soup was not bad. Service was OK, not very welcoming. Only seemed to care about customers when they paid, and walking out the door. Decor is beautiful, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. I read more

We were so excited to try this newbie out in Normal. Their menu is a beautiful site to see if you love seafood. We also love that you can BYOB. We brought some wine with us and the corkscrew was planted at our table. No offer to open it for you at all. We then ordered the Octopus which was cooked perfectly, but lacked seasonings. We then ordered Paella and the Skewer Tower of Lamb, Chicken, Shrimp, Scallops and Salmon. The Paella had so much "sauce" in it that you couldn't taste the flavors of the seafood. They call their rice Saffron Rice, but I couldn't taste a bit of Saffron. I had requested grilled lemon and I was told they couldn't do it because they had too much food on their grill. What?? No apologies, just attitude. Our skewers were served to us cold and the only thing that was good was the Chicken. Our lamb was overcooked, dry and cold. The salmon was the same, yuck! And incredibly enough, our food took almost an hour. Our server, initialed Mj ,was the cherry on the sundae! She never checked with us how things were until we were almost done. We had to ask for our bill and were told to wait a minute which turned into another 5 min. When she finally came by with the check, she was on the phone as she dropped the check.
