I stopped in Jacks this morning. It's located in a small strip store mall on Jefferson Blvd. The store has clear signage and parking spaces are in the front of the strip mall businesses. I bought several types of donuts to try. Each were as the delicious as the one prior. The staff was cordial and I was in and out with ease. There is a small area to sit and enjoy your item, but not much seating. Pricing is comparable to other establishments with the same products. First time here and all I can say is WOW! They have plenty of options when we went late in the day. Syed is friendly And the place is very clean inside. They also have a coffee bar and they offer shakes! We got the jalapeño love and was not disappointed. Also the chocolate cake filled with raspberry filling also not disappointed. Woohoo! A donut shop with a perfect base. Any amount of toppings cannot fix a bad donut - but Jack's has the right formula, right down to the last bite. Can I just say the most surprising treat was the glazed croissant. The Apple fritters and chocolate on chocolate donuts will keep me coming back for more. The chocolate donut is like eating a chocolate cinnamon roll covered in a chocolate frosting. Jacks location on north Anthony is very easy to access; I found the staff helpful and pleasant. The atmosphere is warm with interesting lighting. The standard doughnuts were very good and popular with my cast mates, but the gluten free doughnuts unfortunately were dry and lacked flavor. Quality-wise much less than Tom's Donuts I don't know if maybe they were day-old I didn't personally get them I had an assistant get them. From a NE Indiana Laker who has had Tom's Doughnuts for years, I can affirmatively say Jacks is better than Tom's. I believe if I'm not mistaken the lake locations near Angola and Fremont of Tom's Doughnuts changed ownership as of this year actually, and the new owners have been going cheap with the ingredients. I believe the Fort Wayne location near Clinton is still the former owners but not 100% positive. Spoke with two of the women working this morning and you could tell after all 2020 has given them, only being able to be open for a few days before Covid hit, they were 110% grateful to be opened again and working again and showcasing their delicious doughnuts. 11/10 would recommend! These donuts were absolutely delicious I had stopped at rise n roll because I heard their donuts were delicious and they were closing in five minutes and didn't have any donuts so I checked out yelp and Jack's was only around the corner so I check them out...I got a glazed doughnut and I got a long John filled they were both absolutely delicious their glazed donut was thick and substantial...it wasn't airy. I should've gotten milk that would've made it perfect they do sell milk I just didn't get it. Also the person who served me was amazing she was very friendly and her customer service was above and beyond.
