Donuts are my spirit animal! Tom's Donuts are a staple to Fort Wayne. I have been eating them since I was little. The Tom's on the corner of Wells and State is my favorite one to grab a pick me up in the morning. Every morning, afternoon, and night is better when donuts are involved (at least that is my motto). My favorite is the chocolate iced, cream-filled. Delicious. Donuts are fresh all day. Wide selection. Another favorite is the nut topped cinnamon roll donuts- been a favorite since I was little. Prices are extremely reasonable. Who doesn't love a donut and milk for a couple bucks? Although I have never ate my donuts inside and always get carry-out, there seems to be a regular crowd of an older generation hanging out at the donut shop. I love the vibe. Hopefully one day soon I will not be in pajamas and can enjoy my donuts from the shop. My boyfriend has had heart-shaped donuts made for me for Valentine's Day and my birthday. Or at least that is the type of vibe I get here. I have no idea how long this building and its current proprietors have been here, heck I don't even live in the same state. What I do know is that I can appreciate the types of feelings and imaginations this place brings. The old guy stopping in every morning at 7:30 sharp, ready to take on the day with his donut, coffee and local paper. The family that picks up half a dozen donuts after Jr's baseball game. This place eventhough decorations are scarce, is homey and cute in its own way. The coffee is right in the middle, not super dark and bold, and not watery and weak either. Just the kind of coffee ripe for sipping while enjoying a fresh apple fritter or maple glazed donut. I have heard a lot of good things about this place, so I decided to give it a try. I got three donuts for less than $2, so that's a huge plus. I bought a chocolate glazed, regular glazed, and an apple spice donut. The regular glazed donut was actually more shaped like a crescent roll then a circular donut, but it was delicious! The chocolate glazed was a solid donut, but the apple spice 1 was the most pleasant surprise of all three! I'd love to come back here again and try more. read more

the caramel cake donut i had was pretty good but i was disappointed they didnt have any glazed donuts at all. it was later in the afternoon when i arrived & they ran out of them. theyre open til later in the evening so u would think theyd bake some more but apparently not. so from open til close they only have certain amount of donuts they make and whenever they run out then thats it!? i can understand that if thy closed early but not if theyre open til night. oh well. read more
