Good food! Great service! The servers are friendly and happy, your order comes quickly and hot! They check back frequently but not annoyingly! The only con is the coffee was weak today.Even though they are busy the wait is never long. Try the belgian waffles and bacon or sausage! Yum! read more

Jack's Cafe - Family Day! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Reno, Nevada

Tried this place for the first time based off everyone else's reviews and got exactly what I was expecting! Totally amazing. The food was big portions for the pricing. I had the south west home fries, the gravy was great and the sausage was very tasty. Biscuit: extremely fluffy and soft. I'm not a breakfast person but thought I'd try something new and I think I'll be trying biscuits with gravy a lot more now. Just as everyone else said they came around constantly to be sure our coffee cups were full. ONLY reason I didn't give five stars was because our waitress passed by multiple times but only checked on us once about halfway through the meal. Bu other than that definite must have more often for me :) read more

Jack's Cafe - The plate was full and the gravy was on top, I mixed it up before I took the picture. Southern home fries. Recommend. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Reno, Nevada

Favorite breakfast spot ever! Everything from taste to service is absolutely amazing!! They have "home styled fries" that are to me hash browns with huge potato chunks in them and they're ridiculously delicious. Definitely a diamond in the ruff place but you won't regret going in! :) read more

My husband and I were planning on eating breakfast at Pegs but the line was unacceptable so we ventured out and found Jack's. The service was impeccable and food was served quicker than we have ever had experienced. They we swamped but it never felt like it the entire time. The food was very good. We are adding to our breakfast spots. read more

Fantastic food and service. Great for a family breakfast outing. Our kids spilled two different drinks. Despite us being embarrassed, the staff helped us out like it was no big deal. We were able to finish our stay and enjoy our food. Highly recommend for families. read more

I've been coming here since I was a little kid and I still come to this Day!! The food has always been so well prepared and the staff always treat us like family. The prices are fair and the breakfast food is better than any other. My friends always suggest ihop but Jacks has changed my opinion on breakfast food forever!! read more

The kids meals were excellent, pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. The kids finished their plates without batting an eye. Would recommend to stick with standard breakfast items as the country fried steak did not taste right. Their Benedict was good, flavor was good but the hollandaise did not seem fresh. The restaurant wasn't that busy, but we were very surprised that our entire order was delivered within 5 minutes. That being said, service was outstanding, the staff was very friendly and they removed the steak from our bill. We would eat there again! read more

I met my friends for breakfast, my friend ordered a coffee he brings it to her with his fingers in the cup. Then we ordered my friend ordered scrambled eggs and she got, we don't know, I ordered BLT and it had one piece bacon broke in half, it was horrible will never go back. We do not recommend it! read more

The food was okay. Little pricey for a one star restaurant and a bit too greasy to my taste.

Went there today with my daughter we ordered the waffles and breakfast burrito, her waffles were really good but once we left I noticed she never got her bacon. The breakfast burrito was bland and sauce was too sweet ... felt like I was just eating a very tasteless burrito from a fast food restaurant, the potatoes were enjoyable and they had good customer service. read more

So, I went about two weeks ago to the Jacks on Wells ave. I ordered biscuits and gravy and as I started eating there was a hair in my gravy. I forgave fairly quick, it's a kitchen it happens, and they replaced it promptly and gave me a discounted price. So today I came and ate at this Jacks. I ordered biscuits and gravy, I ate my whole meal almost completely... and low and behold I find ANOTHER HAIR IN MY GRAVY. I was disgusted as I had just ate almost all my food. I told my waitress and all she did was remove my drinks from my ticket. She wasn't very nice about it, and the whole experience with her wasn't great either. It took me eating half of my food before I could get a refill on my drink. She didn't even apologize for it. Bad service wish I could give zero stars. My food was also pretty cold as I watched it sit up on the counter for well over 5 minutes while my server sat and talked. What a sham. read more

Service was fast albeit the food was not enjoyable! Tough chicken fried steak and eggs were not cooked to how we asked.

Awesome lil breakfast spot. Super fast service and food is always good! I get the Victorian most days

This place has huge menu with lots of variety I think there is something for everyone. The staff is friendly and food comes out fast. The biscuits are amazing! But warning the "scones" are not what I think of for scones they are more like a flat doughnut. read more

Breakfast was AMAZING! Everything was tasty and the service was excellent! Karla was such a delight, intuitive, and made the experience so enjoyable! Great place to stop! read more

I've been coming to Jacks for about 18 years now, and it is by far one of, if not the best breakfast place in town! It's a very "old school" type greasy spoon which I love. No frills, nothing fancy, and that's fine by me. The service is usually pretty good. The servers here always have quite a few tables at once that are all seated. Coffee is tasty and strong. But, even though I have on a very rare occasion tried variuos items on the breakfast menu, I always go back to my Holy Grail menu item here: Biscuits and Gravy!!! I've tried the Biscuits and Gravy and many, many other places in town, but Jacks hands down has the BEST! The biscuits are always fresh and I assume made in house, and the sausage gravy is just.......poetic. Real cream, delicious sausage, plenty of pepper and a nice amount of salt. Everywhere else I have to really doctor up my B&G, but not here! ALL of the food here is just really good! My only "critique" is that the location/neighborhood Jacks is in isn't the best. I came out once and had to tell some weirdo guy "where to go and what to do to himself", I'm from Chicago - I don't mess around, because he was going through the parking lot, checking every car to see if it was unlocked! This was on a Tuesday at 11am. So, watch out when you're over there. If you're a True Renoite, you've gotta go to Jack's! And of course, I recommend the Biscuits and Gravy!! Was in town last weekend with a group for Street Vibrations. It was pouring down rain the entire time but we wanted to stop for a nice good breakfast before we got on the bikes to ride home to Sacramento. Jack's was hopping when we got there but they were quick to find us a table for 5! We all had a great breakfast! Large portions and very tasty! The country potatoes and gravy were excellent! When we went to head home our motorcycle had issues and would not start. We basically spent the whole day in the parking lot of Jack's. The owner of the restaurant we so gracious. He came out several times to see if we needed anything or any help. The waitresses even came out to check on us. Wonderful people!! We will make a point to go back and eat there every time we are in Reno!!! read more

Jacks has decent food (basic American food), but for the amount, and quality, their prices are high. I can get the same breakfast at Dennys, for half the price. The one thing I love with my breakfast, is a side of gravy, and this is the only place, that has sausage gravy that is not good at all. Not sure how they make it, but it has a funny taste to me. Service is good, staff very friendly, but way too expensive. read more

A very nice find. The portions were big and the food was reasonably priced. It beats eating in a smoky casino. The servers were extremely friendly read more

If you love gravy then this is your place. The hearty breakfast special is very filling Basically comes with home fries, choice of meat, 3 biscuits, and choice of eggs. IF you're looking for something different at the GSR then this is the place. My friend ordered food here and she enjoyed it too. read more

To start things off, yum! Jack's is an affordable, yet tasty place to get breakfast or lunch. The environment is good; they have that homestyle vibe going for them. Who doesn't like that? It makes you feel comfortable (to dig into their HUGE portions!) Their menu is filled with a bunch of delicious dishes that you would typically expect from an "all American" style restaurant. I like their breakfast better than their lunch, personally. One of my favorites is their biscuits and gravy. They do it just right. Fluffy biscuit, homefries, and sausage gravy smothered over the top of both. So good! Their service is good. I've never had a complaint about the service I've gotten, while dining here. They keep your coffee mugs filled and we always get our food in a reasonable amount of time! I think they deserve the solid four stars they have on Yelp. read more

One of the worst breakfasts I've had in a while. Ordered biscuits and gravy and a ground chuck patty. The biscuits are ordinary at best, not fluffy or tender. The gravy is terrible, must be out of a can with the main flavor being salt. The ground chuck patty had a funky flavor, maybe from the flatop, but as a beef producer, this was not a quality product. The cafe was dirty. I looked under the table, and it was filthy. Had not been swept for a day or two nevermind being mopped. I ate just as the opened, so it was not because they had a busy, they didnt clean the place after the last close. Bad management. Gordon Ramsey would have been screaming at this place. Oh, and 11.08 for this mess is not a bargain. read more

This is my all time favorite breakfast place. It's consistently delicious and the service is always great. I have tried many items on the menu and nothing ever disappoints! read more

Decent breakfast diner. Old school counter. Eggs, pancakes, bacon were decent. A bit on the salty side though. Nothing to write home about

This is a cute little locals spot. They are warm & friendly. The food is tasty and come quickly. The home fries rock! The price is alright also, yea, Ill be back. read more

Had a variety of breakfasts and they were all great! Fast and friendly service. Coffee refills were quick to arrive.

Best greasy spoon in town, hands down - if you don't like Jack's there is something wrong with you. I love the chicken fried steak and eggs and the biscuits and gravy are to die for. The servings are big and the prices are low. It's an old-school diner and the best place for breakfast or brunch in Reno. read more

Food was so so...place was dirty and run down. More of a place for drunks drinks and habitual gamblers. Won't be back.

Excellent food, and large portions. Also a fast and friendly staff. My wife and I love the corned beef hash for breakfast, and great burgers for lunch read more

My husband and I go here every Saturday. It is always packed, but there is never a wait. We are always in and out of there in 30-45 minutes. The portions are huge, and the prices are average. We have never had a bad experience here. Make sure to order the cheese sauce on the potatoes. You will be hooked! read more

We really like this place. It's usually pretty packed, but they always have a seat for you it seems, no matter how full the parking lot looks. This is the place to get a real honest down home breakfast. They always greet you at the door and the food quality is very good. The menu is pretty substantial as well. Say 'no' to the chains and go to a local place that cares about you. read more

turns out this is the first restaurant my family came to when they first came to Reno in the 60's. WOW...been here a long time. HUGE, GIGANTIC portions! The food is good, the staff very friendly...this is a busy place, and they don't make the food until you order it, so get comfy. That said, its good and tasty! read more

Pretty good food. I really loved the Belgian waffles (the works), and my husband thought the chicken fried steak was really good. We ordered biscuits and gravy on the side, which weren't AMAZING, but they were pretty good. Pretty hard to mess up biscuits and gravy though... read more

I went at what had to be peak or near-peak times on Sunday around noon. It was *packed*, with a wait, but since I was solo I got seated immediately. It took under 10 minutes to order and another 10 for my food (spent goofing off on free wifi so scarcely noticed). The country fried steak and biscuits and gravy were fannnntastic. Prices and portions were great. Will be a regular breakfast stop for sure. read more

We were headed for Denny's across the street but they were super busy and happened to see Jack's. Luckiest thing that happened to us all weekend. Great service, friendly, fast , great breakfast and good prices. Would highly recommend. read more

Great food, excellent service. The banana nut french toast was excellent. Not too sweet, but very tasty. And it came with bacon and eggs so a perfect combination of carbs and protein. The steak and eggs was as expected. Eggs were cooked properly over medium and home fries had very good flavor! If you are wanting ambiance and sophistication this is not for you, but if are looking for some good home cooking and friendly service for a great price this is where you want to be! read more

Found this place on Yelp and it was awesome!! Great service, great food and great coffee!! Best little spot I have found in a long time. We will be back next time we drive through Reno!! read more

Jack's Cafe - Steak and eggs!! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Reno, Nevada

We stopped at Jack's for breakfast last week. My omelet was just okay, the home fries were very bland and not cooked properly. My friends biscuits and gravy were heavy. I was very disappointed and will not return. read more

I had some eggs Benedict from here and the sauce wasn't all too great.. I did get a lot of refills on my coffee which was nice!

Loved it! They stayed on top of refills, service was great and food was great. Will definitely come back.
